Our Holiday Home is made up of a Renaissance villa from the 16th century located in a hilly area surrounded by the silence of green forests and the silver-gray of olive trees. It overlooks the plain where the city of Lucca is located, which is about 6 km away and can also be easily reached by urban bus. It is an excellent starting point for visiting other Tuscan cities, as the city of Pisa is 18 km away, the sea of Viareggio is 20 km away, and the city of Florence is about 70 km away.
Purchased in the early 1800s to be used as the summer seminary of the Diocese of Lucca, it was transformed in the 1970s by Monsignor Enrico Bartoletti, before he became the secretary of the Italian Episcopal Conference, into a Diocesan House for spiritual exercises, seminars, training courses for clergy and laity, welcoming pilgrims, retreat days for the various needs of parishes and groups or movements, families, ecclesiastical events, etc.
With the Jubilee of 2000, under the episcopate of Monsignor Bruno Tommasi, the House was equipped with the necessary comforts to ensure a welcoming environment while still preserving the sobriety that characterized it in previous centuries.
It has a capacity of 73 beds, with rooms divided into singles, doubles, and triples, equipped with their own facilities and a Wifi system for internet connection. Today, it is managed by a family.

Nice place, but the room was very small and the price was excessive for the location and services. Daily room cleaning is not provided and breakfast is not included. The bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell of WC Net and was not very clean. The hairdryer is available only on request.

I slept one night during a motorcycle trip. Everything was perfect: the place, the building which is an ancient monastery, the courteous and smiling staff, the numerous outdoor spaces (cloisters and wooded gardens), the room and the comfortable bed, the large wooden windows with their old and ingenious locking system. The only downside, in this scorching summer, is the too noisy fan that is necessary despite the windows being open with the mosquito net. But good earplugs solved the problem. The breakfast, optional, is complete. The homemade cakes are excellent but the fresh fruit was disappointing.

The human relationship was the key to the success of this stay, where for every situation there was an option and therefore a possible solution to choose from. The structure is very beautiful and comfortable. The manager and his employees are very friendly and always available. The shuttle is convenient for reaching the areas near Lucca and the meeting point is easily accessible. We had a great time in this structure, which is well organized, with welcoming and kind staff, an ancient but fascinating structure. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning. Very nice structure in a large building with very suggestive common areas. Everything else confirms the 2 stars: very small rooms, hot without air conditioning, only one bedside table with Ikea plastic light. Some deck chairs in the garden. An exaggerated cost of 171 euros for two people, I understand that they profit from the proximity to the concerts of Lucca but it seems like an exaggeration to me. It's a shame because with a bit of investment the structure would be very beautiful.

I only stayed one night to attend Ed Sheeran's concert but I was positively impressed by the place. A characteristic structure full of history, with well-kept exteriors and interiors, a place of peace and beauty. Exquisite family management, friendly and very helpful. Beautiful people also humanly with a moving personal story. About ten kilometers from Lucca, Casa Diocesana Mons. Enrico Bartoletti is immersed in the Tuscan countryside. The rooms are obviously a bit spartan but have everything you need. The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable. The property has shaded and cool outdoor spaces, excellent in summer.

Beautiful historic building, with a welcoming garden. The friendliness and availability of the managers are extreme and the breakfast is plentiful. This is a historic building with its strengths and weaknesses given by the structure. For me, it's beautiful. I prefer a location immersed in the countryside with the peace that follows, rather than a hotel in the city center chaos. If you desire tranquility with polite people and cicadas to accompany you as a soundtrack, I recommend it.

Excellent structure for visiting Lucca and surroundings. Good reception. The breakfast was also good, while our room was quite minimal, without a television or a hairdryer. However, it is an ex-seminary. Excellent outdoor spaces due to the hilly position.

Our stay was one night long. It is a beautiful place and has a lot of charm. It is reachable only by car and about 10 kilometers away from the beautiful city of Lucca. Very kind and friendly host. unfortunately it was extremely hot during our stay, which made us change the place for the following night. I might return but in another season, the surroundings are nice and I believe it is a great place for hiking and biking.

Everything very nice. But I suggest a bit of maintenance to the parking lot. The hump is dangerous for low cars, there is a gap between hump and parking lot and the manhole. It's a big risk. For everything else, it's fantastic.

The hotel is part of an ancient villa, very beautiful on the outside and isolated from the city of Lucca which is not a defect. One must be careful on the road leading to the hotel as it can be a bit narrow at times. The breakfast is abundant and of good quality. The manager and his collaborators were very kind, ready for any request, friendly and easy-going. As for the room, we found it a bit dated but clean, tidy, with a bathroom in the room and well-maintained. The only flaw is that they do not change the towels in the morning and the room needs to be tidied up on your own.

Arrived with the sole expectations of a shelter to spend the night I found much more. A very kind manager. A perfect single room with bathroom, very fast Wi-Fi, and a tranquility that allowed me to rest perfectly. Woke up the next day with a fantastic breakfast and the view after going out on the street completed the picture. Bus stop two centimeters from the building and off to Lucca. I highly recommend it also because if I have the opportunity I will certainly return.
