Description

Il Giglio is situated in the historic center of Pienza, in a Renaissance Palace, just steps away from Piazza Pio II and Palazzo Piccolomini, which can be seen from some rooms. The attic loft offers, from its terrace, one of the most incredible views of the Val d'Orcia.

The Giglio, renovated and furnished with care, reveal the characteristics of the Tuscan style: terracotta floors, antique decorations and frescoes, wood-beamed ceilings. All units have a TV, a modern private bathroom with shower and/or bath tube, toiletries, heating, air conditioned, mini bar, free wi fi. The apartments for 4 people have a fully equipped kitchen and living-room. Daily clearing and daily change of towels.

Breakfast is served in your room at the hour you desire.

The last renovation has enhanced Il Giglio a wellness cave with sauna, whirlpool, chromotherapy, turkish bath shower, aromatherapy to give its guests a holiday not only rich in nature, culture and art but also for relaxation and wellness. Exclusive use (30 euro for the couple/one hour)

Good morning. The website should include a clarification about breakfast, because it was misleading for us; if it had been specified we would have booked elsewhere. The mattress should be replaced and the minibar should be serviced because it is too noisy. Nothing to complain about regarding cleanliness and the bathroom essentials. Excellent location. Regards.

We had the best stay at Il Giglio while in Pienza! The room was quaint and cozy! Breakfast was offered daily in the room, and there was espresso! Roberta was amazing! She was very helpful during check-in, but otherwise left you alone! The location is unmatched, very close to everything! Highly recommend if you’re staying in Pienza!

Very nice structure, apartment with a terrace on the top floor overlooking the roofs of Pienza, very impressive. Discreet host but always available at the same time, located in the center of the village with parking nearby. Highly recommended!

In the center of the wonderful Pienza, the rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with everything necessary, actually even more! Everything needed for a nice breakfast is available in the room. The only downside is that you can hear voices and noises from the upper rooms.

Exceptional location for visiting the Val D'Orcia. The couple's spa is fantastic (small but very beautiful and efficient). Impeccable cleanliness. I recommend to the manager: changing the method for breakfast would require a specially made small table and at least the addition of fresh bread and a croissant.

The apartment is very nice and well kept, the cleaning is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and the location is central in the village. I found the breakfast in the room very simple, the table was not very spacious since we are a family of 4. The owner is very kind, I highly recommend it, I would come back!

A truly magical place: inside the walls of Pienza, two minutes from Palazzo Piccolomini, with a spectacular view of the rooftops and the sunset. Room number five is a real gem: exposed beams, windows and little windows, a small balcony with views and a bathroom that rivaled a spa. The owner was helpful and ready to meet every request for breakfast, additional coffee pods, and spa hours. In short, a highly recommended spot to enjoy Pienza and the Val d'Orcia.

Pienza is a beautiful village. Roberta was available and very kind. We stayed in the loft, which was beautiful, welcoming, and taken care of in every detail. The view from the little terrace is wonderful. The location is great, and there are even free parking spaces just a few minutes away.

Premise is necessary. My review aims to be constructive and I do not want to denigrate anyone's work. The breakfast, while appreciating the possibility of preparing something in the room, I would have liked a small buffet of local products. The website clearly states that pets are not allowed, but in the room next to ours there was a dog. It did not bother us, but if we could have brought the dog we would have done so as well. Then we had a problem, unforeseen, I hope, with the bathtub that we tried to fill, but after only 10 cm of water level it started leaking. We deliberately did not call anyone because it was evening, but at check-out there was no one even to say goodbye.

Nice B&B with a very clean bathroom, in the heart of Pienza and with free parking within walking distance. The breakfast is very basic, too similar every day and could benefit from variations with, for example, some cheese, ham, eggs, or roasted toast.

The structure is a historic palace renovated in the center of Pienza. Very cozy room with a bathroom. View from the window of the roof of the adjacent structure (in our standard double room). Absence of parking and no agreement with the structure. Only paid parking lots at least 200 m away.

Located in a central position, very nice and clean, the owner is very helpful and generous with advice. The house is located in the historic center of Pienza so there are some restrictions, which can be overcome, given the particularity of the structure: you can only arrive on foot and few parking spaces nearby. The structure does not have, of course, the elevator and it can be difficult to climb the floors with heavy luggage. Breakfast served in the room at the time chosen by the customer is an excellent solution, also in the room there is everything needed to prepare a coffee or a tea. Unfortunately, we cannot evaluate the spa, as it was under maintenance, but we hope next time to be able to review it.

If you like characteristic places, with a lot of history, excellent hospitality, and top-level services, choose this property. We stayed in the panoramic loft, surrounded by the roofs of the village, overlooking the hills and the sunset in front. A magical location. The room is spacious, equipped, warm, welcoming, and clean. The bathroom has a huge shower and a large whirlpool tub. It is romantic and very functional at the same time, provided with every comfort. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever rested in, apart from my own at home. The owner is a discreet and very kind presence. I recommend to all those who want to have an unforgettable experience in Val d'Orcia to stay here.

Structure in the center of Pienza in a very suggestive alley, 5 minutes walk from a free parking lot. We really appreciated the availability of the owner Roberta for the check-in time and for the excellent breakfast served in the room at the agreed time. The room was located on the top floor in an attic part of the structure, very nice and equipped with everything needed. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets very soft.

Splendid location, I suggest the loft with terrace, with spectacular view! Room and bathroom fully equipped, from earplugs to hairdryer, hair straightener, cotton pads, well-stocked dispensers with shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, slippers, bathrobes, in short, don't bring anything from home! Roberta very friendly, very clean and functional room. The only downside (overall still negligible) was the breakfast: it's great that it's brought to the room, but the products are rather industrial (from juice to yogurt, to little jams that you don't understand where they should be spread, with no bread or rusks, butter). In a "bed & breakfast", breakfast often plays a leading role, not in this case. However, the other positive elements certainly overshadow this small downside: our room (with a spectacular attached bathroom) was equipped with every comfort, tastefully furnished, very welcoming. I would definitely return to the property, thanks to Roberta for her availability!

I highly recommend it for the excellent location (you park the car and comfortably walk around Pienza), excellent quality, services / price ratio. And the cherry on top: a small spa in the cave under the foundations of the structure.

I stayed at this B&B for 2 nights with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The apartment we booked is very cute, very clean, and equipped with everything we needed. It's new, you can see it, very well furnished and attention to detail, the mattress very comfortable. The croissants for breakfast are really good. As soon as we arrived, we found water, milk, and juice for breakfast in the fridge. The spa cave is beautiful and very relaxing, really worth it. Roberta is very kind and really helpful to meet any kind of request. I recommend it and we will definitely return. Pienza is a really nice village.
