Description

Our Bed & Breakfast Botrona, is in the Gulf of Follonica district, just 2 km away from the Marina di Scarlino, Puntone's beautiful tourist port, and a mere 4 km away from Follonica.

This delightful spot is the perfect base from which to explore all the natural beauty of the Tuscan archipelago, visiting the islands of Elba, del Giglio and Giannutri as well as the many beaches and coves in the area including the famous Cala Violina that is only 4. 5 km away from the B&B.

It gives us great pleasure to act as your hosts for either a weekend or a longer holiday here in our beloved Tuscany and we are always happy to tell guests about places to explore and the best restaurants and wineries, perhaps including a bit of Maremma history and a few anecdotes too.

Guests can easily reach the beautiful cities of Siena, Florence and Pisa, must-see destinations for anyone wanting to discover the colours and flavours of Tuscany as well as its culture.

Our breakfast will be served in the living room or on the open veranda. Our breakfast is partly served at the table and partly buffet-style.

From Puntone di Scarlino you can make many excursions in the Tuscan Maremma and in the Tuscan archipelago.

The borough of Scarlino lies 5 km from Puntone and has a beautiful castle that is currently used for shows and events. From the castle you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Follonica.

Follonica is 4 km away and is the largest urban centre in the area.
The city is strongly developed along the coast and boasts many kilometres of clean and safe beaches.
In Follonica you can also find an active nightlife with clubs and pubs with live music. During the Summer there is also a rich programme of events for all visitors, from the younger to the older ones.

Another very interesting destination is certainly Massa Marittima which has a very suggestive historical centre and a main square, where the cathedral is, that leaves all visitors open-mouthed.

For sea-lovers, we are pleased to offer one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy (at the top of the list of the Legambiente environmental agency).

The beach is called Cala Violina because of the noise made by the rubbing of the typical sand grains of the creek you can hear when strolling on the beach.

Excellent structure, very kind and helpful staff. Convenient check-in that allows you to arrive when it suits you best. Perfect cleanliness. Mini-bar in the room. A bit isolated but a real gem. Warm and welcoming room just remodeled. We can't wait to have another opportunity to come back. Highly recommended. Congratulations!

Very nice place, with very well-kept furniture, clean environment, but the breakfast was not to my liking. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed but bought in a carton like pear juice, the jams did not seem homemade, the savory part consisted of those square slices of low-quality cooked ham and Fontina cheese. Perhaps I had false expectations, in the sense that in a place immersed in nature I expected local, quality, and seasonal products.

Buongiorno, la ringrazio innanzitutto per la sua gradita prenotazione e per la sua recensione anche se 4 per la colazione mi lascia molto perplesso in considerazione che le marmellate e i dolci sono fatti tutti da noi. Le preciso alcuni aspetti: - le marmellate le facciamo noi a parte quelle mono porzione; - i dolci li facciamo noi; - per il salato nel tempo abbiamo tarato molto la tipologia di prodotti anche in relazione ai prezzi che applichiamo, usare prodotti locali di costo ben maggiore ci costringerebbe ad aumentare i prezzi ad un livello non accettabile per il nostro mercato; -per le spremute le chiederei di indicarmi in relazione al prezzo pagato dove è riuscita a trovare un hotel o B&B che le ha offerto una vera spremuta di frutta in quanto io viaggiando molto ho trovato cose del genere solo in strutture di altissimo livello e quindi di altissimo prezzo. Comunque grazie per i consigli e suggerimenti. Grazie Paolo.

Beautiful well-kept, comfortable, and relaxing property. Pleasant and cheerful hospitality. Good location not far from the center and the beaches, although not the most beautiful ones, for which you have to drive about 20/25 minutes. In my opinion, breakfast should be enhanced by offering something more, such as croissants.

B&B Botrona is really as cute as in the photos. The bed and breakfast is located in a secluded, beautiful, quiet place among olive groves. The staff are absolutely helpful and uncomplicated. I felt totally comfortable there. I recommend taking a taxi from Follonica to the B&B for €22 for those arriving by public transport. B&B Botrona provides bicycles, but you can also rent them in Follonica. The beaches and nature around Scarlino are ideal for a relaxing break.

The structure is very beautiful and well-kept, clean and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The price of Euro 106.00 per night for a couple, being a Bed and Breakfast, in a decentralized location and with a poor breakfast lacking local products is really high! The clientele that often chooses locations of this type does not do so to save money, but to find characteristics that are not found in large structures. A traveler in Tuscany expects Tuscan products, local cold cuts and cheeses, local dairy products, etc. In the presentation of the structure during the booking phase, 'daily cleaning' is specified, thus suggesting frequent cleaning and changes of towels and linens; only upon arrival it is discovered that for 7 days only 1 change is provided. At this price, it's a bit too little!

Gentile cliente, la ringrazio per i le puntali osservazioni. In merito ad alcune di esse ci tengo a fare alcune precisazioni: -il cambio biancheria, come trova scritto anche sul nostro sito è previsto a metà settimana, questa è una nostra filosofia ambientale credo che nessuno a casa propria cambi lenzuola ed asciugamani più di due volte a settimana; -per quanto riguarda la colazione i dolci li produciamo noi personalmente e quando possibile (cioè è disponibile nostra frutta) produciamo anche la marmellata delle crostate, per il resto credo che sia difficile accontentare tutti i clienti, riteniamo di offrire un tipo di colazione in linea con il prezzo e con le esigenze della clientela, un voto pari a 2 è per una colazione cattiva e credo che non sia il nostro caso; - per i prezzi se verifica anche su internet troverà che i nostri prezzi sono in linea con le strutture simili alle nostre; - il fatto che la nostra struttura sia definita decentrata non capisco rispetto a cosa considerando che siamo a 2,5 km dal mare; Comunque grazie, faremo comunque tesoro delle sue osservazioni. Beautiful B&B immersed in the Maremma countryside, very quiet and secluded from the city chaos which, if desired, can be easily reached in 5 minutes by car. I hope to return soon.

Kindness and courtesy, from the first phone call. Room (beautiful loft) and bathroom clean. Excellent breakfast served in the garden. Nice idea of the whirlpool and shower, located outside and available to guests. Very favorable position of the B&B Botrona compared to the major attractions in the area. Short but definitely repeatable experience, as soon as the opportunity arises.

A treasure in the countryside of Maremma. Despite the short stay of one night, we had a great time, thanks to the courtesy of the owners who, with their prompt information, helped us organize our arrival at the property, from the very fast self-check-in to the recommendations for a good place to eat. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and equipped with everything needed to make the stay as pleasant as possible. We hope to have the opportunity to stay here again.

We stayed at this B&B Botrona for only one night but the place is really nice. Very well cared for down to the smallest details and very clean. Very convenient self check-in. The only small negative note is that staying so little we only met the owners in the morning when it was time to leave, so if you arrive in the evening, it almost feels like entering someone else's home. But the freedom to arrive when you want, enter and exit without problems with maximum security is priceless. Breakfast made with homemade cakes (delicious), bread and jam, coffee, cappuccino, fresh orange juice (make it fresh), quiet both for the location and for the fact that there are only 5 rooms. Definitely worth trying!

I stayed for two days in this corner of Paradise. The structure is meticulously cared for in every detail, both inside and out. We had the pleasure of staying in the tastefully decorated studio, with a very large bathroom and a very pleasant shower cabin. The extremely helpful staff made us feel at home, in an atmosphere of joy and carefreeness. One thing I would like to emphasize is the following. We checked out in the morning but were allowed to leave our luggage in a dedicated room and upon our return from the sea, before leaving, we were allowed to have a whirlpool bath in the outdoor Jacuzzi and use the shower and bathroom facilities. I'm already thinking about the next vacation at B&B Botrona and it won't be just for two days!

I stayed one night at the end of August 2015. What can I say, everything was fantastic, starting from the huge room, to the very large and spotlessly clean bathroom with a wonderful shower, to the excellently served breakfast under an external patio that led directly into the garden. The entire structure is decorated with taste in a colonial style, nothing is left to chance and everything is very well taken care of. I was impressed by the kindness and availability of all the staff, who before we left, made available a toilet for us to freshen up and the whirlpool bathtub in the garden, even though we had already left the room in the morning. I am sure I will return and I invite everyone to do the same because it is really worth it. B&B Botrona.

Congratulations! The B&B is the result of a very careful renovation, everything is taken care of in the smallest details. The owners Carlo and Antonella are very helpful, the guide they prepared is fantastic! Monica and Monia are delightful, they brightened our breakfasts and pampered my children. Grandparents Luigi and Lidia are extraordinary. Keep it up and I hope to see you all again soon.

We are five cycling friends and we stayed in this excellent property in an excellent location for a week. The staff is very kind and available for all our requests and the quality-price ratio is really convenient. The owners are also very kind. I definitely think we will return.
