Description

Small Bed & Breakfast near Albinia, very easy to reach, very convenient as a starting point for every tourist destination in the Maremma.

The family management makes it intimate and welcoming, the rooms all have a bathroom, TV, air conditioning and an independent entrance.

A small kitchen equipped for common use leaves open to our guests the possibility to have a coffee or to cook something and eat in the gazebo in front of the room.

My husband and I stayed for a week and we had a great time. Mr. Mario and his daughter Elisa are welcoming and helpful. Good, very Italian breakfast with cakes, jams to spread, and yogurt, all strictly homemade. We also recommend it for its convenience in reaching the Argentario areas.

A few days by the sea to break up our tour of central Italy with some relaxation. We stayed at this B&B Il Picchio Verde for 4 nights. The property is conveniently located to visit the beaches during the day and the towns of Argentario in the evening. The rooms all have independent entrances. Ours was quite spacious, also because it had a third bed and was quite private. The decor is simple and functional. Good quality mattresses and pillows. Private bathroom with adequate courtesy kit. There is no shower box, but it is sufficient to pay due attention and the shower curtain does its job perfectly. Comfortable room as it is equipped with a fridge, TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Each room also has a reserved area of the garden with a table and chairs. The clothesline is much appreciated! Excellent cleanliness, also in relation to the common areas. Silence and tranquility. The owners are very kind and always available to give us directions and suggestions on what to see and where to eat. Excellent breakfast, very abundant, with homemade yogurt and jams as well as cakes served in full compliance with anti-Covid regulations. The rabbits and geese are beautiful and very nice, placed in special enclosed spaces and taken care of by Mr. Mario. There is a very family atmosphere. PS - Far fewer mosquitoes than we had expected.

The stay at B&B Il Picchio Verde was satisfactory in all aspects, from the location to the managers, from the breakfast care to the attention to the customers. The only flaw is the need to use the car for any movement as the access is directly on the Aurelia (a cycle-pedestrian connection with the nearby village of Albinia would be enough) but this is to be attributed to the administration.

Just outside Argentario but perfect in terms of quality-price. Convenient for all the destinations of Argentario. The B&B Il Picchio Verde is really beautiful, with a great garden. Our room was clean, with a fridge and air conditioning... we couldn't ask for more. Breakfast also includes homemade cakes, really good. Recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights with a friend, clean rooms and very courteous staff. Wide selection for breakfast with very good homemade preparations. Recommended also for the location as all the beaches and towns of the Argentario are easily reachable.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in August 2019. The structure is clean, the managers Mario and his daughter Elisa are very helpful, kind, and ready to give advice on visiting Argentario and the surrounding areas. The breakfast is magnificent, every morning on the buffet table there were warm croissants, a wide selection of jams, delicious yogurts prepared by them, and very good tarts with jams made by them. Also convenient is the internal parking reserved for B&B guests. The only things we considered 'negative' were: 1. The location: despite being a 5-minute drive from the sea, it is not very convenient since there were always maneuvers to be made as the B&B is on the main road (this obviously does not depend on the structure). 2. There was no possibility to pay by credit card, bank transfer, checks, but only and exclusively in cash. Overall, however, we had a very good time, thanks especially to the kindness of the two managers that we will carry in our hearts.

Great family-friendly and friendly welcome. It's easy to reach the house from the Aurelia highway. A short distance from Giannella, convenient for those who love going to the sea every day and a few kilometers by car! The large garden is a joy for the little ones and relaxing for adults. Outside each room there is a garden space and a nice table with parasol curtains for outdoor dining. We had a great time. Thank you.

It is always a pleasure to enter a facility and be greeted with great kindness and availability, Mario, the owner of B&B Il Picchio Verde, showed it to us when he let us choose among the rooms still available. We found extreme cleanliness, perfect air conditioning, a small fridge in the room and a larger one in the common area, well-kept outdoor space but above all an excellent breakfast. Different sweets every day, excellently homemade, artisanal yogurts, excellent coffee and cappuccino. Thank you, see you next time!

What can I say fabulous! Excellent location to visit the surroundings, Argentario, thermal baths, neighboring villages.\n\nBeautiful and well-equipped structure, friendliness and kindness of the manager Mario who always thinks of everything. From the shared freezer-fridge service for all guests to the clothespins on the wire for hanging.\n\nExcellent breakfast, cleanliness as well, air conditioner, remote control for automatic gate and covered parking! Really no flaws. Maybe a little the price, but in the surroundings it is difficult to find a better price without lowering the quality. Top!

We stayed for 4 days, my husband and my child and we were pleasantly satisfied. The owner Mario is fantastic. Great location to visit the beaches and places of Argentario. Perfect also for those with children, as there is a courtyard equipped with games and a corner with geese. If we were to pass by those parts again, we would definitely return to B&B Il Picchio Verde.

Very welcoming and relaxing B&B, managed excellently by Mr. Mario. Very kind person, always willing to give us great advice on what to visit in the surroundings (Giglio Island, Porto Santo Stefano, Orbetello). B&B away from the confusion of the cities but convenient to reach them in a very short time (15 minutes) thanks to the nearby provincial road. Breakfast always very rich in tarts, croissants, brioches, juices, coffee, cappuccino, fresh fruit... everything needed to start our days in the best way. I recommend everyone to stay there.

This is the sixth year that my partner and I come back to B&B Il Picchio Verde, a winning place, it doesn't change. Immersed in greenery despite being located along the Aurelia highway. Convenient to reach all the locations of Monte Argentario in a few minutes. The friendliness, sympathy, and grace of the manager Mario are unparalleled. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended.

Excellent location to reach all destinations of Monte Argentario and surroundings, daily cleaning and towel changing, my wife and I booked the only room without a window, which has a glass door with entrance and a beautiful bathroom with a very large shower and window, believe me we had a great time and without the need to turn on the air conditioning, as the room is cool.\n\nManager Mr. Mario is a special person and very helpful in welcoming your requests.\n\nTry it, it's really worth it.

Abundant breakfast served on the veranda in a relaxing atmosphere. Private parking. Excellent sound insulation even though we are close to the Aurelia highway. Location a bit out of the way, however, the main towns of Argentario are only a few kilometers away and easy to reach. Great for those who want to move daily to visit places not only by the sea (Giglio - Giannutri islands - various coves and beaches) but also the villages inland. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, family management, cordiality and kindness of the manager and family members, impeccable cleanliness, excellent breakfast with homemade cakes. Although the B&B Il Picchio Verde is located on the Aurelia state road, tranquility is guaranteed by a large and well-kept garden that isolates from noise and traffic. Covered parking spaces, just a few minutes' drive from the beaches of Argentario and from Orbetello, Porto Santo Stefano, and Porto Ercole, with the possibility of visiting the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. Last positive note: pets are welcome here.

First time in Argentario in search of relaxation and in this structure we really felt pampered. Mr. Mario is a very friendly, welcoming, and helpful person even in providing us with directions on places to visit and where to eat. The room was spotless. We found welcome pastries and a very accurate and useful list of beaches in the area. The biggest wonder was finding double-glazed windows so that, despite being close to the Aurelia, we slept very well. The breakfast is super abundant and the homemade desserts are absolutely to be tried.

The structure is ideal as a support for those like us who moved from one place to another during the stay. Great courtesy of the manager. The only downside, which is however a convenience, is the location of the structure, situated on a busy communication road. The structure is still equipped with a garden, a roof for cars, a veranda for eating, and rooms with private entrances. Clean spaces, even daily towel changes which in my opinion are not necessary. Prices are average for the period, even though I always tend to consider B&B Il Picchio Verde as an economical alternative to hotels, which lately is not the case anywhere. Satisfied.
