Description

A dozen rooms, not more. But they are made really well! They are nothing luxurious, we don't have waiters in uniforms o whirlpool bath, but the wooden steps that leads you to the rooms is fantastic and reminds a lot of the time past, the beds are comfortable, space is abundant and bathrooms are elegant in typical Tuscan style but modern and very very clean.

Some rooms are for one day travellers and some are more comfortable for those who remain longer. You can call us to say if you want to come with children, motorcycles, cars and many places to see or just pass by and ask for a room where to sleep. We are here for all of this. Each room has a large and comfortable bed, fresh linen (we do the room cleaning every day with attention!), a desk with a couple of chairs where to sit down or to leave your books and maps. All bathrooms have faboulous showers. The furniture is sober but we kept the Tuscan tradition in furniture and details. We installed a very modern system of climatization, to make your room warm in winter and fresh in summertime. You can use it at your wish, it's simple and efficient. In every room there is a TV, even if we wish you don't use it too much: our landscape is far much better!

Davide, Laura and Lello are always a guarantee of hospitality, good food and helpfulness. In about 15 years this is the third time I have returned to them. The B&B, located on the Cassia Nord, enjoys lateral and rear views of the countryside around Siena with the crowing of roosters every morning that brightens the start of the day. It is a strategic location for reaching Siena, the Crete Senesi and the Chianti valley, plus other connections to head to other Tuscan destinations. Their food is top quality! Everything is homemade. Breakfast is an institution with sweet and savory items (pappa al pomodoro, tripe, warm omelette and more) with agricultural coffee as a perfect finale. I gave only a 7 for cleanliness: the room is very nice and has a family atmosphere, but we found a bit of tangled dust on the shower tiles and some bugs that certainly entered through the window; but, all in all, it is part of nature. And we will definitely return.

B&B Il Ceppo has a strategic location for visiting Monteriggioni, Siena and the surrounding villages. Breakfast is outstanding, but what really makes the stay special is the extraordinary kindness of the hosts: I have rarely met people so hospitable and caring. A place I highly recommend!

We loved our stay. The property is conveniently located near Siena and close to other Tuscan sites. The rooms were the cleanest we've seen and the breakfast was hearty and abundant. The owner is extremely hospitable and attentive to every need. He provides bottled water each day in addition to breakfast and offers excellent advice on places to see and where to eat. He was spot on with dining recommendations. I would definitely stay here again. It is a great value and a wonderful place to stay.

Wow, and wow again! Absolutely an amazing place in every aspect. I'm not sure where to start, but I will start with the hosts — I have never seen hosts like Laura and her husband. Having traveled around the globe, I have never come across accommodation where the host doesn't ask for card details in advance or charge you upon arrival — not here. You stay like a king and enjoy a feast every day, including a lovely lunch, and when it comes to payment, you pay at check-out — amazing. Breakfast is not just filling, it's a big feast, and the host makes sure to top up if anything gets depleted, which almost never happens given the quantity and quality they serve. The accommodation itself is very nicely located just outside Siena, ideal for exploring Tuscany, Florence, and more. The rooms are comfortable and airy.

An unique and unforgettable experience!😍 We discovered this B&B by chance, located in a strategic point between Monteriggioni and Siena, and we also stopped there, curious about the excellent reviews from other travelers. The owners and the staff are truly wonderful!!!🙏🥰 Kind, helpful, sociable, friendly, efficient, attentive, and caring, always ready to make you feel at home! Lunch consisted of an eggplant pie filled with anchovies and tuna, a platter of local cured meats and cheeses, ribollita, panzanella, baked potatoes, bread, house red wine, and a trio of desserts. Everything was delicious!❤️ And luckily we drank two excellent local bitters to aid digestion!!!!😅😅 We then decided to stay overnight there. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, with air conditioning, a comfortable mattress, and a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, and at night it was very cool and quiet. The owner then recommended 4 excellent restaurants in Monteriggioni where we would go for dinner! And we are extremely grateful for that! But the real discovery was the champion's breakfast!😻🤣 I think, honestly, it was the most abundant, exquisite, varied, and unusual breakfast we've ever had in Italy!😋😋😋 (See attached photos!) Sweet pastries, tarts, bread, butter, jam, fresh orange juice, cured meats, cheeses, and scrambled eggs! And even here, everything was excellent!!!!💙 Food and service! But the highlight was when he brought us the red wine paired with anchovies, olives, stuffed chili peppers with tuna, spring onions, all in oil, plus a variety of savory crostinis, and finishing with the panzanella!😍😍😍 Fantastic food!!!🍷🍷🍷🔝🔝🔝 Oh, and let’s not forget the coffee with grappa!!!😋☕🍾 The moral.... we got up satisfied, happy, and didn’t need to have lunch!🤣 Truly a positive experience! The kindness and hospitality shown to us really warmed our hearts! ❤️ 100% recommended!🔝 Prices for lunch, accommodation, and breakfast are competitive!😉 Free parking available nearby. If we happen to pass through that area again, it will be a fixed stop!!!!🤗 Thank you very much and keep it up, because you are truly great and unique!🔝🫂💘🙏

The stay at this B&B was fantastic, both for the welcome and kindness of the owners and staff and for the cleanliness. The breakfast should be called lunch because it ranges from sweet to savory (they even bring wine!) and they also offer to pack something for you from what you obviously couldn't finish eating, to take with you during your day's excursion. The proximity to Siena and Monteriggioni, the treatment received, and the precise information that the owners provided us regarding the places to visit in the surroundings make this B&B really special, highly recommended!

An unforgettable stay at the B&B. Il Ceppo. At the end of May 2025, we had the pleasure of spending four days in Tuscany, randomly choosing the B&B Il Ceppo in Monteriggioni. From the first contact, the owner Mrs. Laura proved to be extremely helpful and friendly, so much so that her cordiality contributed to our choice. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Davide, Laura's brother, who offered us a welcome drink and immediately made himself available for any needs. The structure, simple but well-kept, stands out for its order and cleanliness, offering a pleasant and welcoming environment. The biggest surprise was the breakfast: every morning an extraordinary buffet that delighted us with a variety of sweets, savory dishes, and hot or cold drinks, served without any restrictions. The generosity and attention to detail made every awakening a true pleasure. Thanks to the map of the area and the valuable advice from Davide and Laura's husband, who is equally talented and helpful, we managed to organize our days exploring the wonders of Tuscany with clear and useful indications. After this extraordinary experience, we can only recommend the B&B Il Ceppo to anyone looking for genuine hospitality, impeccable service, and an attention to detail that makes guests feel truly special. The managers are very helpful, as I told them, you can see that they do their job with passion and professionalism. Excellent location to visit Siena, the Val d'Orcia, San Gimignano and many other villages that will be suggested to you by the staff. Super breakfast, well beyond expectations. The only regret is that I could not have lunch there because, given the breakfast, lunch must be a fantastic experience. We will definitely return to do a tour of the surrounding wineries.

The breakfast is more than abundant with excellent quality Tuscan cold cuts and cheeses, marinated anchovies and preserves, various bruschettas, scrambled eggs and desserts; all accompanied by "agricultural coffee". The hospitality of Mrs. Laura and her team is incredible, one feels at ease. The location is strategic for visiting Siena and its surroundings, from Monteriggioni to San Gimignano to Volterra and Colle Val d'Elsa. Do not miss the Abbey of San Galgano and the museum dedicated to it in Chiusdino.

The spacious rooms and bathroom are well maintained and clean, but what struck us the most is the breakfast that I would define more as a brunch, brought to the table of each guest, very abundant and with various types of sweet and savory treats that you can't help but try just for how inviting they look. I recently had the pleasure of staying at B&B Il Ceppo. The hosts were incredibly kind and paid great attention to the needs of their guests. The room was spacious and in a typical Tuscan decor. Very clean. Breakfast was abundant, with a wide range of options to suit everyone and fantastic coffee. Additionally, I enjoyed lunch in the restaurant a couple of times, which was some of the best food I had during my visit to Tuscany. The B&B is conveniently located about 15 minutes from the Siena city centre, which made visiting simple. I would highly recommend staying at B&B Il Ceppo.

We have just returned from B&B Il Ceppo, located 5 km after Siena. It is a strategic location for all directions you may want to take by car. The structure is comfortable both for the bedrooms, which are clean and well equipped, and the bathroom, which is not small. The kindness and hospitality of the owners are phenomenal. They gave us a lot of information about excursions to do, particularly on non-touristic routes. Top breakfast, with cold cuts, sweets, cheeses, jams, scrambled eggs, and various types of sauces and preserved vegetables. A bomb!!! Surely, when returning to Siena, we will know where to stay. We chose the B&B Il Ceppo for its strategic location. It is located a few kilometers from the stunning Val d'Orcia, the spectacular Chianti and its wonderful castles. Don't miss the visit to the Brolio castle and the Val d'Elsa. Furthermore, the wonderful villages of Volterra and San Gimignano are very close by. Speaking of the property, we were amazed by the hospitality and the clean rooms. The breakfast was extraordinary, Mrs. Laura in the kitchen works wonders. Just one word: perfect.\nThe price paid was the lowest found in the area, the room large and clean, I stayed in a double for single use but it was really very big. It is one of those places that you cannot fail to recommend for those who want to go to Siena. Friendliness and sympathy of the managers first and foremost, but also the structure and location allow you to enjoy your stay reaching Siena in a few minutes. If you stop to sleep at Davide's B&B Il Ceppo, and breakfast is included in the overnight stay, consider not needing to go to lunch the day after the overnight stay! The breakfast is very abundant, so much so that it's impossible to eat everything that will be offered. Cold cuts, cheeses, bread, various pickles, and even scrambled eggs with tripe, accompanied by a folkloristic agricultural coffee (red wine) precede the pastry cakes, the homemade cakes, and the spectacular blueberry jam! The structure, on the other hand, is very pretty, finely furnished, with a well-cleaned bathroom... nothing is missing, especially the Tuscan lily, even on the bedspreads! In short, more expensive than in other parts of Italy, but... definitely worth it!
