Description
The B&B Residenza Cecchi is a welcoming accommodation that was obtained from an ancient family dwelling. Its history dates back to 1927, when my great-grandfather, a Sardinian bricklayer who had fought in the First World War, built the residence and named it "Villino Carta".
After a recent renovation, we are now ready to welcome our guests who want to enjoy peace, tranquility, and a bit of magic. As you enter through the main door, you will find yourself immersed in a genuine Florentine residence.
We have taken care of every detail to make your stay a unique and unforgettable experience. Our structure is named after the street where it is located, named after Giovanni Maria Cecchi, a well-known notary and playwright from the 16th century who was very attached to his city and the Medici family.
For our rooms, we have chosen to pay tribute to the city of Florence and its history, drawing inspiration from the colors of the city's four historic districts: Red, Green, White, and Blue.

Breakfast is the most important meal for our B&B and is served daily from 8: 30 to 10: 00. We are committed to the utmost to satisfy every need, both for sweet lovers and for those who prefer savory. We offer croissants, cakes, rusks, butter, yogurt, jams and chocolate spread, cereals, bread, ham and cheese, eggs and fresh fruit. In addition to drink we serve espresso, decaf coffee, cappuccino, chocolate, tea, juice and milk.

We enjoyed our time and were really pleased with our host, Irene, who was wonderful. The room was very nice, however, there was a quite strong bad smell coming from the drains during our stay. It smelled like a sewage leak. With the windows open, however, many mosquitoes came in, and you could see smashed bugs along the walls. The location was also listed as Oltrarno when we booked, but it was much farther away from the city center than expected.

Great welcome, very spacious room with bathroom included, a 15-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, etc. Excellent breakfast, clean room and very nice and kind manager (manageress?). The only downside for those with a car: parking around the B&B is divided between Blue Stripes (paid, unguarded, outdoors 1€/hour, excluding night hours from 8 pm to 8 am. (if I remember correctly)) and White Stripes (reserved only for residents, if you want to try your luck, you risk a fine of a few tens of euros). Excluding this constraint, the structure is absolutely recommended.
