Description

We wanted to create a warm and welcoming environment for anyone coming to stay in the city. The B&B, about 250 sq. m in size, is on the 2nd floor (no lift) of an attractive building built in the early 20th century. Livorno is a sea port, with lively tourism flows and a strong, typically Tuscan character. The city is well known for its cuisine, seafront and sporting activity, and you will have the feeling that you have “discovered” something unique.

LOCATION
Via Verdi, 34, in Livorno’s city centre. Metropolis is situated close to bars, pubs, renowned restaurants, travel agencies and so on. The B&B is just 100 metres from bus stops to take you around and out of the city. The main taxi station is 500 metres away, the railway station is 10 minutes away by taxi or bus. The harbour is 800 metres away, within easy walking distance.

I stayed at this property for 4 days and I can absolutely say that I was greeted with kindness and punctuality by the girl who handles check-in. The room was clean and the location of the property is very convenient for getting around on foot. I will definitely consider staying at this property again if I happen to come to Livorno.

We had to wait for the lady to let us inside the house for 30 minutes, although we had informed them of our arrival time on the same morning and they had confirmed it - that was very annoying! And when the lady finally arrived, she didn't apologize or even introduce herself - very disappointing! The B&B itself was fine, and the breakfast at the café next to the B&B was alright, too.

The B&B Metropolis is located in a building not far from the center, but it is on the second floor of an old building without an elevator, so people with disabilities or mobility difficulties may have trouble accessing the property and this did not seem to be reported. The property is quite old, although the apartment is well maintained. We were greeted by a very kind lady who showed us the room and handed over the keys. The rooms are quite clean, equipped with air conditioning, private bathroom, and a water heater for tea or coffee, and you can also use a refrigerator in a shared kitchen. Breakfast is not provided, but a breakfast voucher is given to be used at the pastry bar located right below the property, which offers a wide variety of delicious homemade products, also suitable for individuals with intolerances or allergies. I would recommend it to young people and middle-aged adults who do not have excessive demands.

Great place, warm welcome from Paola, everything very comfortable and clean, excellent wifi (I worked for 2 days!) only downside having to go down to the bar for breakfast. Oh yes, the radiators are a bit noisy at night but bearable! I will definitely come back! Thank you Paola for your kindness and affability.
