Description

Dolce Sosta ascends from the total renovation of a typical 50’s Tuscan villa. Given the Villa’s location it remains a strategic point of reference for the many pilgrims along the historical Via Francigena. Easily reached by plane for those arriving in Pisa or Florence or for those arriving by train or by car.

Situated in a quiet district on the outskirts of Lucca the villa is surrounded by green space offering guests a tranquil repose. In a short distance of 3 km brings you to the historic city walls of Lucca, along this route you travel past local shops, bars and historic sites. Dolce Sosta is well served by public transport with a bus stop to and from the historical center of Lucca only at 100m from your doorstep.

The Villa offers affordable luxury and privacy to world travellers with a choice of 5 large rooms, each with a private bathroom, tv and free wi-fi. Guests can gather in the comfortable living room. Gated private parking is located on site.

Exclusively for our guests, we organize special excursions thanks to our hiking guide Stefano. He organizes trekking and cycling tours; tours aboard the minivan in sea and mountain areas but also culinary excursios for who want to combine the visit of the historical city with the Tuscan territory as well.

Dolce Sosta is in close proximity to several historical cities and Mediterranean beaches. By car you can reach Pisa or Versilia in 20 minutes and Florence in 40 minutes.

Terrible. We made a complete booking, but we received a room with air conditioning and no kitchen. Zero privacy, I let you imagine what privacy there could be in a house inhabited. Dirty pool, yellow water, mosquitoes floating on their bellies. Zero friendliness, instead immediately clarifying that we had removed, but I remember that customers are always right. In this case, we had way too much of the heat that made us stay only with a fan. We will never return again.

The managers are kind and helpful, the location is convenient for all services and the city center, but unfortunately, the room we were assigned was small, with an even smaller bathroom and no windows. The worst part is that it was NOT equipped with air conditioning, which I find unthinkable. With small adjustments, it could be greatly improved. I suggest maybe increasing the nightly rate but installing air conditioning and including breakfast in the price.

Excellent little house located in a quiet position on a low traffic road, near the walls of Lucca which can be reached by bicycle in a few minutes. Large, comfortable and clean room. Friendly and helpful manager, breakfast on request but always plentiful. Pleasant and relaxing experience.

The room at my disposal was beautiful and spacious, the staff was very friendly, kind, and helpful. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, but from what I heard from other guests, it seemed excellent. Very close to a bar/pizzeria and to the bus stop to get to the center in no time. The private parking lots were also excellent, convenient and safe. I highly recommend this place, even for those who wish for a bit of relaxation without the chaos of the busy center.

We loves our stay at this property. Stefano and his family are delightful, rooms are a good size, so we were very comfortable. breakfast was abundant and Stefano’s own honey is the best. Very good B&B Dolce Sosta, with a pleasant garden, spacious and well-equipped rooms (hairdryer, fan, tv). Very welcoming owners and ready to help. 3 minutes from the center of Lucca, with easy access from the road (and possibly the bus, which we did not try). Abundant self-service breakfast (pastries, homemade cakes, bread, fruit juices, yogurt). Very beautiful region obviously, with lots of things to see and do.

Great bed and breakfast. Impeccable cleanliness and comfort. The rooms are very spacious with an equally spacious bathroom. The availability and kindness of the young couple managing the structure are exceptional. Located a bit outside Lucca in a quiet area, but we easily moved to reach the city center where we had to attend a concert during the Lucca Summer Festival. Even on the day of departure, needing to leave at 6:00, Stefano (owner of the B&B together with his wife Maria) woke up to prepare us breakfast, exceptional. I highly recommend La Dolce Sosta to those who want to stay in Lucca and surroundings.
