Description

The Soggiorno Casa di Barbano is a place that, while offering modern comforts, conserves it's antique charm.

Mr. Barbano, once a resident here, was a famous vegetable merchant in the 1800's and this, his old house, is situated near the Piazza Indipendenza, at one time the city's vegetable garden.

The Soggiorno (which means pension) is five minutes walking distance from the train station and a block away from Fortezza da Basso, an ex position center, and the Palazzo dei Congressi, a conference center.

A pleasant stroll through the close by San Lorenzo market will bring you to the heart of the renaissance center and the great Duomo church.

Five hundred meters straight down the street and you arrive in Piazza San Marco and can visit Michelangelo's David sculpture in the Accademia del le Belle Arte.

Being a Soggiorno situated on the ground floor, it is extremely easy for the traveler to transport suitcases.

Our rooms are spacious, quiet, and luminous, each complete with a bathroom, air conditioning, television, safe deposit box, and the use of a refrigerator.

In this friendly atmosphere one can find books to consult, a guitar to play, access to internet, and a telephone for short conversations.

Check-in was really easy since the B&B has its own doorbell. We were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us many tips and suggested nice areas to visit around the city. We liked this quiet area. It is a 10-minute walk from the train station and a 10-15 minute walk to the center.

I really enjoyed the stay at Soggiorno Casa Di Barbano. Everything was nice and well. The location near the station and city was great. Also the breakfast and amenities at the B&B were good. But mostly the host and staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

When we arrived, there was no one there to greet us, I had to contact the manager by phone, who told me that they hadn't seen the reservation made the day before. So we had to wait outside for about 20-30 minutes. In the reservation, I had also communicated that I wanted a vegan breakfast and on this they were completely unprepared (which is a bit unexpected for a place very close to the Florence train station) not even a bit of plant milk, just some biscuits and a sandwich that was definitely not fresh (maybe it could have been warmed up a bit). At least I expected a decent breakfast to apologize for the delay. Anyway, the property itself is nice, but not very clean (I found hair in the shower). What a shame.

I recommend Soggiorno Casa di Barbano for the welcoming staff and because it is located a short distance from the main tourist attractions in Florence, as well as being close to the train station. Rooms are very clean and spacious, away from the noise of the city center.

I spent 5 nights in this B&B and enjoyed it. From the moment we entered, we were given a warm welcome from Moraq. They even gave a little birthday treat for my husband which was really thoughtful and made his day. Moraq was helpful throughout our stay including replacing a part that broke off from the shower door. She had the part replaced in less than 24 hours so that I could use the shower. The B&B is close to the train station which made day trips easy. There was a simple Italian breakfast, though we did not use it each day as we had early day trips. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Florence again.

The location was very good (near the train station), although a bit of a walk from the centre of the city (20 minutes). The room was beautiful (classic lock), clean and spacious. The breakfast was limited in variety, but abundant in quantity. The host was excellent, informed, and helpful. She gave us tips and insights into what to visit and when. We are thankful.

Very comfortable accommodations located close to all the attractions and train station. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. The room and common areas were clean and eclectically decorated. It felt like you were a guest in someone’s home. The breakfast was served by the owner and was very good; juice, coffee, fruit, croissants, bread and assorted condiments. She also left fruit and coffee out if you needed some during the day. The room has a small refrigerator which was convenient if you wanted to store a small snack. Overall our stay was very positive and I would stay there again and highly recommend it for anyone going to Florence.

We stayed from 23/11/23 to 26/11/23. The structure is located just a ten-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station. The neighborhood is very quiet, served nearby by buses and there are trattorias with typical products at affordable prices in the area. From the B&B, we reached the most important attractions of Florence on foot in about 15 minutes. The room has a retro style and is spacious. There is both a mini-fridge and a safe. The bathroom is spacious and very clean. The breakfast included in the price is worth it because it's good and they don't give you packaged snacks. The lady who runs the structure is very welcoming and meets the customer's needs. In fact, she kept our luggage after check-out so we could enjoy the half-day we still had before departure. We absolutely recommend it.

I had a great time, central location and maximum cleanliness and courtesy. The owner is very attentive to all your needs. Paid parking available nearby and you can even drive directly underneath to unload, even though it's in a restricted traffic zone, thanks to an agreement with the municipality.

A bed and breakfast with an ideal location: a 10-minute walk from the train station and the tram terminal from the airport. City center so close to the places to visit... a few minutes from the central market and the Accademia museum. Quiet street. The location is great: next to the train station and within walking distance to downtown. The room was clean, except for the bed cover and the toilet carpet that we immediately removed. The host answered all our questions and was very supportive in keeping our luggage before and after our reservation, and printing our boarding passes. The breakfast is good, we recommend adding a portion of granola or muesli to mix with the yogurt to add variety.

Beautiful well-kept structure, with comfortable and clean rooms, located in a strategic position near the station of Florence. An honorable mention for the manager: an extremely friendly and honest person who made us feel at home! I highly recommend it for the excellent value for money but above all for the kindness of the B&B manager which is almost rare these days.

My partner and I were impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the owner. The property is located in a quiet area, the breakfasts are abundant (much appreciated) and there is also an internal courtyard. The owner is very friendly, we arrived on Sunday she was even able to tell us which museums etc. were open. The breakfast was served by her personally, there were various fine items. When we are in Florence again we will come back.

We spent 4 days at the 'Soggiorno Casa di Barbano' and we had a really good time. The lady who manages it is delightful and very kind, she allowed us to leave our luggage until the evening before the train. Abundant breakfast, hot croissants, and amazing cappuccino. Two friendly cats and a small garden at our disposal for relaxation. Highly recommended for us!

Dear Moraq was so kind, warm-hearted, and accessible. She guided us to know the city better when we arrived there. The place was quite nice, clean, and comfortable. The usable items like trash plastic and toilet paper were changed every day. The room cleaned every day. She served a great breakfast every morning, whether you want to sit in the kitchen or the yard. If you want to have an economical stay, this would be the best place to stay, much better than many two or three-star hotels. All in all, it was beyond my expectations. If I come back to Florence, I would definitely come back here again.

The property is very beautiful, clean, and the location is enviable (close to the train station and close to the center). Casa Barbano is in a very convenient location near the historic center and Santa Maria Novella station, on a little trafficked street. The rooms are cozy and well heated, perhaps too much, since the heating is on all night and opening the window is complicated, being very high. The bathroom is basic, without a bidet, without a window. The breakfast, served in the room, is essential. The mattresses and blankets are quite old and should be renewed. Overall, Casa Barbano is welcoming, but unfortunately, although we explicitly requested single beds, we had two single beds made up with double sheets.
