My desire is to welcome my Guests in a comfortable and friendly place stimulating an emotional pleasure.

I am Stefano Boni I am pleased to welcome you in a nice and homely place revived by their taste and long experience.

As you arrive at my Bed & Breakfast you will be offered a city map where you can find all the greatest monuments, squares and historical buildings.

In order to live Florence fully we will be delighted to suggest you a special tour with the best souvenir and sweets shops and other typical boutiques where you can buy handmade Tuscan products.

If you wish to have a tasty snack or to have your dinner in a typical Florentine trattoria do not hesitate to ask us for some Information: we will do our best to make your stay as much comfortable as we can.

All our rooms are wide and airy and they are equipped with inside bathroom, TV set, hairdryer, air-conditioning/central heating operated independently, wireless Internet free, bath and bed linen. The furnishing is déco style with 19th century pieces of furniture.

Inside each room there is a table with chairs.

This same space can be used during the day to enjoy a quick lunch or dinner, ordering food at home or taking it to your room, near my B&B there is a supermarket where you can buy something ready to eat, some good wine to drink for an aperitif at the end of the day, anyway to spend relaxing moments.

Some of our rooms have also a balcony showing on to the square and some others overlooking Monte Oliveto green and peaceful park.

Area city center

Located in San Frediano, a suggestive area in the very heart of Florence, it is just 10 minutes’ walk from the greatest art galleries and museums. It can be reached either by car (it is just outside the ZTL area, “Limited Traffic Area”) or, if you prefer, by bus or taxi which are available and easy to get, particularly if you need to go to Piazzale Michelangelo and to visit the great exhibitions of the Fortezza.

Cars can be parked nearby and with a little extra charge (the central area is not reserved for parking, as it is allowed only to residents).

Its really strategical position, the quietness of a comfortable and refined lodging help to make the Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita a perfect starting point to get to know Florence.

The room was spacious and Shaila was lovely! She was very easy to get in touch with and even provided us some free breakfast coupons. The view from the room is spectacular! The toilet was in the shower in our room. That was the only drawback.

I highly recommend the accommodation, half an hour on foot from all the buildings to visit, the historical center, and the Arena del Visarno park. I stayed for the Vasco concert. Shaila is very nice and helpful.

This place was good and clean. However, it is almost 2 km from the Doma and Tower, etc. and 1.7 km from the train station. There are instructions on buses though. We walked everywhere for three days. Got a good feel being away from the tourist area. Large supermarket across the square. You have a shared kitchen with a microwave. No stove or oven, just a single burner hotplate.

Very nice and caring host. Tea, coffee and water was always available. If you have heavy baggage, beware it is 2 long stairs up to the B&B. As usual it is now more common without the B in breakfast. If we go to Florence again we will be back. About 25 minutes to walk to the train station or to the city center.

The apartment was clean, the host was nice and the location is good. However, the property is old and not so well maintained. You can see lights through the cracks of the doors to the hallway all night, and if you have noisy neighboring guests you can say goodbye to a good night rest. For 4 euros you get breakfast vouchers but those vouchers are literally worth 4 euros at the bakery. So I would recommend going to the bakery and spending the 4 euros instead of getting vouchers.

This property was fantastic! Very charming and quaint and we especially loved having the table and couch in the room. It gave us some space to spread out! There is also access to a communal coffee/tea bar and microwave and refrigerator. These touches made such a difference. Shaila was a truly phenomenal host; she helped us get acquainted with the city, suggested things to do, explained how to use the buses, told us where to find things like the grocery stores, etc. She always responded very promptly. We had to leave around 4am for the airport and weren’t able to call a taxi due to some phone difficulties. Shaila called the taxi company for us and scheduled our ride, and then called us in the morning as we were leaving to ensure we got our taxi! We couldn’t have had a better stay. The property was a little far away from major attractions, but it is near public transportation so it was not a big deal at all.

My room, with the art on the walls, the table and chairs, and most of all, the balcony patio, were just what I'd always imagined a room in a city in Italy would be like. As a writer, it had the tables and chairs I needed, and the privacy, to be productive, without feeling blocked off from the world. Shaila was an amazing host, very kind and accommodating. She made me feel so welcome. The only thing about this accommodation I did not appreciate was that it's not actually a bed and breakfast, in my view of what that is. The breakfast was a coupon to a pasticerria down the road. It was very nearby, but included only sweets as the option. Since I saw photographs of breakfast on plates in the room, and it was called a bed and breakfast, I assumed that meant breakfast was on site. I would recommend not purchasing the breakfast because you can simply buy the items on your own there if you want, probably for less money, or go somewhere else, or store your own food in the fridges available. The only other note is that if you plan to spend time at the Duomo or other popular sights, you'll be doing a lot of walking (or get a taxi or bus). I enjoyed being away from the center, but I am exhausted!

Positive experience. Clean room, good breakfast at the bakery Pegaso, appreciated services (fridge, kitchen, coffee/tea corner). It is about 2 km from the center, not too far, but if you walk you need to walk a bit. At the reception, Mrs. Shaila was very kind. Recommended.

Very kind, caring, and welcoming host, yet very discreet, not intrusive. Comfortable B&B to reach the historic center, even on foot, crossing San Frediano. Great location, within walking distance to the train station and the city center, my room was quiet and spacious. The price is high for a Bed & Breakfast but in line with the very high prices in Florence. Please note that there is no elevator, it's on the second floor, it wasn't a big issue for me but it might be inconvenient for some. Breakfast is not prepared on-site but you receive a voucher to have it at a great pastry shop nearby, this is a bit of a downside compared to the extra cost paid in the booking which is similar, if not higher, than what you would pay for breakfast at a bar independently. The lady at the reception was friendly and very helpful.

The B&B 1900artevita is located in a semi-central area, poorly served by public transport and does not have private parking. Breakfast is served at a bar near the property, allowing guests to choose between 2 croissants or other options and a hot drink of their choice.

In the description, the following sentence can be found: "Enjoy a flat-screen TV and a table and chairs, where you can enjoy your continental breakfast buffet.". There is no breakfast buffet at the property. You receive vouchers for a pastry shop about 200 meters from the property. You receive two pieces of pastries (croissants are a true delight) and a coffee or tea. It might have put me off that there is no breakfast at the property, but this way you are forced to visit a real pastry shop and experience the life or awakening of the Italians live. Since it was from Saturday to Monday morning, you could also park for free within the blue parking spots. It was the first time ever in a B&B. Since I am used to hotels, I am certainly not a benchmark but in the future, a hotel will be an option for me again. For a short trip to Florence and for those who enjoy a stroll until reaching the center to visit the sights, the location is perfectly fine.

More accurately, I'd like to rate this property 7.5. The main positive was that the host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Shaila was flexible with our dates, even with a last minute flight change, and very understanding. She was a huge positive for booking the room. The location was quiet and further out from the main sites which we enjoyed. It took us about 20-30 minutes to walk to most sites which seemed to bother my husband more than it bothered me. The room was similar to photos, however, there were some issues. I found it very dusty in the room and had issues with allergies. The bathroom definitely had a very musty smell throughout our stay. There was only a bathroom mirror which showed head up but no way to view your outfit. The curtains did not do an adequate job of blocking out light, even at night when it was 'dark'. The biggest issue was the room smelled like cigarettes despite booking a non-smoking room. I think these issues are not necessarily related to the cleanliness of the room, but more to it being in an older building and not being updated; however, it did have a significant impact on how much we enjoyed the stay.

The structure is well-kept and functional. The manager is very present (maybe too much). Among the downsides, the location is very peripheral compared to tourist attractions, the lack of an elevator, and the difficulty in using public transportation.

The property is well maintained, very clean, and with all the comforts, including the air conditioner that saved us from the crazy heat in Florentine August! Although not in a very central location, it is convenient to public transportation and getting to the city center by bus is very easy. I stayed at this property from October 20th to 24th with my husband. We had a good time, the owners were very courteous. We especially appreciated the cleanliness, the proximity to the center of Florence (reachable in a fifteen-minute walk) and to numerous bars, restaurants, and services in general. Also excellent the proximity of a garage to park the car.

We have been there before and we came back for the reliability. Everything written in the description is true. I must highlight the friendliness of the two brothers and the convenience of it being a structure on the edge of the ZTL area, with easy city connections by bus or short walks.
