Description

In a house from the early 1900s, the Al Sognalibro B&B, the first literary B&B in Italy, has been created. Its unique features make it stand out. We have three different themed rooms that represent a book: Alice in Wonderland, The Leopard, and Cyrano de Bergerac.

Every guest who requests it will find a book under their pillow, left by the previous guest, and that book will be theirs if they, in turn, leave a book for the next guest. This is done in the hope of freely circulating books and (hopefully) culture. Our B&B is located just a stone's throw away from the Medici walls - the heart of the city - and the train station. Travelers or tourists who stay at Al Sognalibro will have the strategic opportunity to be in the center of Grosseto but also just 10 km from the sea in Marina di Grosseto, Principina a Mare, or a short distance from the Maremma Natural Park and Castiglione della Pescaia. We have affiliated typical Maremman restaurants that will satisfy your every appetite. The house is meticulously cared for, precisely because of its uniqueness, and the breakfasts are personalized according to each person's desires. Free and ample parking is available underneath the structure.

Mobility:
Thanks to its location, our structure is optimal for those traveling by train due to the proximity of the train and bus station in Grosseto. NB: The cost for a single night has a 15% surcharge.

I'm Paolo, not so long ago I lived in Milan and I was involved in TV advertising, then one day, I decided that I wanted to change my life and I wanted to live at the sea.

And so I worked hard to achieve my dream.

I chose Tuscany and in particular the Maremma, because here still the nature is uncontaminated, surrounded by sea, nature, hills and all the colors that these are able to give.

It feels like being guests at Paolo's house, given the intimacy of the setting. Paolo is a kind and very welcoming man. Our room was clean and absolutely functional for one night, with a private bathroom. There is no air conditioning but with the fan we managed very well. The structure is very convenient if you don't feel like moving the car as it's a stone's throw from the center. Even our little girl liked it, asking us to come back to Paolo if we need to stay another night in Grosseto. It's a shame that for breakfast you have to go out even though the Corsini bar is practically next door. In essence, a pleasant discovery.

We had a short but very pleasant stay in Grosseto! The host Paolo was very welcoming and helpful, as one rarely experiences! Our room was very nice and lovingly decorated. We really felt very comfortable there! The B&B is very well located: the street is very quiet and yet borders directly on the busier city center.

We chose this Al Sognalibro B&B because we wanted something different from the usual, but the atmosphere and the welcome from Paolo, the manager, exceeded all expectations. We had the "Alice" room, with the meticulously curated environment, comfortable beds, it was like stepping into a story. Paolo's kindness with his advice to make the most of the stay will leave you, as it happened to us, wanting to come back soon... because... "you always go back where you've been well".

I stayed at Al Sognalibro B&B for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and we had a great time. Paolo is a fantastic person, always available and recommended beautiful places to visit and very good local restaurants. Too bad about the breakfast, which, although normally expected, was not a service they could provide us during this period due to COVID, but they not only applied a discount but also recommended an excellent pastry shop just a stone's throw from the B&B. Very convenient location because it's close to stunning places. We will definitely return!

I would have wanted to give a score of 20 to the manager. Paolo is an incredible person. One of those encounters that enrich you. The place is wonderful, full of books and with themed rooms. The manager is friendly and manages to convey emotions. The place alone would be worth a stay in Grosseto. Wonder. Highly recommended.

Paola was a wonderful host! She went above and beyond to make our stay great. Al Sognalibro is in a nice neighborhood within walking distance to the train station and the city center with an abundance of shops, restaurants, and sights to see. I definitely recommend Al Sognalibro B&B.

Ho soggiornato due notti al Sognalibro dopo aver visitato la sua interessante pagina web. Una struttura dedicata ai libri, alla letteratura, alle storie, ma caratterizzata anche da una forte sensazione di accoglienza grazie alla professionalità e alla gentilezza del titolare. Ogni stanza ha il titolo di un libro che vedi perfettamente rispecchiato in ogni singolo dettaglio. Io personalmente ho soggiornato nella camera «Alice nel paese delle meraviglie»: a parte la comodità dei letti e l'estrema pulizia, mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso anche il gusto dell'arredamento, non volgare né eccessivo. Anche il servizio di prima colazione è stato impeccabile: si poteva richiedere in base alle preferenze dell'ospite scegliendo tra il dolce e il salato ed è stata servita in perfetta puntualità. È senza dubbio un posto che raccomando a chiunque abbia la fortuna di passare per Grosseto, in quanto è a due minuti dalla stazione ed è perfettamente collegato con bus e taxi. Tornerò sicuramente.

Un posto proprio per bene (e ribelle) Un luogo di vera umanità ospitale, irrigato di quell'ospitalità discreta ed imponente. Rara, calda e anche il giusto emozionante. Son colazioni incantevoli, son pavimenti, pareti di colore e cuscini a forma d'ospiti passati, son tazze di caffè, bicchieri pieni di gentilezza, son sospiri di sollievo, cucine piene di incontri. Son anche disegni ai muri (e libri, libri). Tutti decisamente amati, in primis da chi li ha pensati e li condivide con silenziosa cura. Un piccolo, rumoroso esempio di quanto incredibile sa essere un pezzetto di comunità se accoglie. Un casa minuscola e provvisoria, ma capace di molta luce. Alessandra.

Paolo è una persona squisita e piena di interessi. Visionario, ti racconterà di come ha cambiato la sua vita per dare vita a questo onirico B&B, pieno di citazioni letterarie dove perdersi con la mente. È anche un ottimo cuoco, peccato io abbia potuto sperimentare solo le sue colazioni rigorosamente fresche e homemade. Il posto è in una location perfetta, vicina ad Alberese ed il bellissimo parco regionale della Maremma, Castiglione della Pescaia, le sue spiagge e la sua vivace vita notturna. Ci sono un sacco di altri posti al mare molto carini vicino a Grosseto. E se siete a corto di idee, ci penserà Paolo a darvi qualche idea con la sua approfondita conoscenza geografica ed artistica del territorio.

Voto 8.5 Non ben segnalato, il B&B al Sognalibro è comunque facile da trovare: è situato non lontano dal centro e vicino alla stazione di Grosseto. Seppure dalla struttura, esternamente, non ci si aspetti granché, una volta entrati si cambia immediatamente idea. Perfettamente arredato a tema, ben pulito e gestito, il B&B al Sognalibro è unico nel suo genere letterario: stanze meravigliose, ambienti accoglienti ed una grande ospitalità da parte del gestore. Presenta anche un giardino interno dove si può fumare. La colazione è preparata dal gestore stesso, che è anche cuoco. Unica "pecca", le stanze non dispongono di aria condizionata, né di tv. Io e il mio ragazzo siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti.

Un appartamento centrale ma in una via tranquilla, posizione strategica tra la stazione (5 minuti a piedi) e le mura (5 minuti a piedi). Un palazzo di soli due piani, in stile liberty con un grazioso e accogliente giardino interno dove stare per la colazione o la lettura o una chiacchierata con il discreto padrone di casa. Le camere in tema letterario sono solo una delle belle sorprese che vi riserva Paolo, coraggiosa persona alla ricerca di uno stare bene vero. E questo lo trasmette e lo regala, oltre l'ospitalità pagata. Un veloce ma splendido soggiorno. Grazie a Paolo ed al suo aiuto, Giulio.

Bellissima idea del bookcrossing ma sarebbe preferibile trovare il libro in camera all'arrivo; Per la colazione si consigliano specialità locali. Bravo Paolo!
