Description

In a house from the early 1900s, the Al Sognalibro B&B, the first literary B&B in Italy, has been created. Its unique features make it stand out. We have three different themed rooms that represent a book: Alice in Wonderland, The Leopard, and Cyrano de Bergerac.

Every guest who requests it will find a book under their pillow, left by the previous guest, and that book will be theirs if they, in turn, leave a book for the next guest. This is done in the hope of freely circulating books and (hopefully) culture. Our B&B is located just a stone's throw away from the Medici walls - the heart of the city - and the train station. "Al Sognalibro B&B" is a prestigious residence that brings back the emotions of the past. Visit our website for any further information, thank you.

Surroundings
Travelers or tourists who stay at Al Sognalibro will have the strategic opportunity to be in the center of Grosseto but also just 10 km from the sea in Marina di Grosseto, Principina a Mare, or a short distance from the Maremma Natural Park and Castiglione della Pescaia. We have affiliated typical Maremman restaurants that will satisfy your every appetite. The house is meticulously cared for, precisely because of its uniqueness, and the breakfasts are personalized according to each person's desires. Free and ample parking is available underneath the structure.

Our guests can take advantage of rooms with different bathroom options (private, exclusive, shared), free fiber wifi, heated environments, freedom to return at any time during the night, parking, and a beautiful garden for relaxation.

Our rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, internet access, a crib (upon request), a mirror and luggage rack, and a fan.

There are 3 available rooms:
2 rooms with a private bathroom - Alice in Wonderland and The Leopard
1 room with a bathroom shared only with the property - Cyrano de Bergerac
Mobility:
Thanks to its location, our structure is optimal for those traveling by train due to the proximity of the train and bus station in Grosseto. NB: The cost for a single night has a 15% surcharge.

I'm Paolo, not so long ago I lived in Milan and I was involved in TV advertising, then one day, I decided that I wanted to change my life and I wanted to live at the sea.

And so I worked hard to achieve my dream.

I chose Tuscany and in particular the Maremma, because here still the nature is uncontaminated, surrounded by sea, nature, hills and all the colors that these are able to give.

A place to take and leave energy.

The slogan that distinguishes Al Sognalibro is: "That in this house more rays of sun come in than clouds!"

I stayed for only one night at the property. The manager is very kind and courteous and is willing to take you to a nearby place if you need it. The Alice room is wonderful and the cleanliness is excellent. The property is in a strategic location.

Between kindness, stories, and tales, this is a magical place. Skillfully managed by the owner himself, who has an extraordinary hospitality. Welcoming environment, carefully curated in detail. The owner is very kind and available for really interesting conversations that serve as a relaxation therapy. I did not have breakfast because I like to have it at the nearby bar. Highly recommended.

It feels like being guests at Paolo's house, given the intimacy of the setting. Paolo is a kind and very welcoming man. Our room was clean and absolutely functional for one night, with a private bathroom. There is no air conditioning but with the fan we managed very well. The structure is very convenient if you don't feel like moving the car as it's a stone's throw from the center. Even our little girl liked it, asking us to come back to Paolo if we need to stay another night in Grosseto. It's a shame that for breakfast you have to go out even though the Corsini bar is practically next door. In essence, a pleasant discovery.

We had a short but very pleasant stay in Grosseto! The host Paolo was very welcoming and helpful, as one rarely experiences! Our room was very nice and lovingly decorated. We really felt very comfortable there! The B&B is very well located: the street is very quiet and yet borders directly on the busier city center.

We chose this Al Sognalibro B&B because we wanted something different from the usual, but the atmosphere and the welcome from Paolo, the manager, exceeded all expectations. We had the "Alice" room, with the meticulously curated environment, comfortable beds, it was like stepping into a story. Paolo's kindness with his advice to make the most of the stay will leave you, as it happened to us, wanting to come back soon... because... "you always go back where you've been well".

I stayed at Al Sognalibro B&B for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and we had a great time. Paolo is a fantastic person, always available and recommended beautiful places to visit and very good local restaurants. Too bad about the breakfast, which, although normally expected, was not a service they could provide us during this period due to COVID, but they not only applied a discount but also recommended an excellent pastry shop just a stone's throw from the B&B. Very convenient location because it's close to stunning places. We will definitely return!

I would have wanted to give a score of 20 to the manager. Paolo is an incredible person. One of those encounters that enrich you. The place is wonderful, full of books and with themed rooms. The manager is friendly and manages to convey emotions. The place alone would be worth a stay in Grosseto. Wonder. Highly recommended.

I stayed two nights at Al Sognalibro B&B after visiting its interesting website. A structure dedicated to books, literature, and stories, but also characterized by a strong feeling of hospitality thanks to the professionalism and kindness of the owner. Each room is named after a book that is perfectly reflected in every single detail. Personally, I stayed in the room 'Alice in Wonderland': besides the comfort of the beds and the extreme cleanliness, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the decor, not vulgar or excessive. Even the breakfast service was impeccable: it could be requested according to the guest's preferences choosing between sweet and savory, and it was served perfectly on time. It is definitely a place I recommend to anyone lucky enough to pass through Grosseto, as it is two minutes from the station and is perfectly connected by bus and taxi. I will definitely come back.

Paolo is a lovely person full of interests. He is a visionary and will tell you how he changed his life to create this dreamy 'Al Sognalibro B&B', full of literary quotes to get lost in with your mind. He is also a great cook, too bad I could only experience his strictly fresh and homemade breakfasts. The place is in a perfect location, close to Alberese and the beautiful Maremma regional park, Castiglione della Pescaia with its beaches and lively nightlife. There are plenty of other nice places by the sea near Grosseto. And if you're short of ideas, Paolo will help you with his in-depth geographical and artistic knowledge of the area.

Rating 8.5. Not well signposted, the Al Sognalibro B&B is still easy to find: it is located not far from the center and close to the Grosseto train station. Although from the outside, one might not expect much from the structure, once inside, the opinion changes immediately. Perfectly themed, well cleaned and managed, the Al Sognalibro B&B is unique in its literary genre: wonderful rooms, cozy environments, and great hospitality from the manager. It also has an inner garden where smoking is allowed. Breakfast is prepared by the manager himself, who is also a cook. The only downside is that the rooms do not have air conditioning or TV. My boyfriend and I were very satisfied.

A centrally located apartment but on a quiet street, strategically positioned between the station (5 minutes on foot) and the walls (5 minutes on foot). A building of only two floors, in liberty style with a lovely and welcoming internal garden where one can enjoy breakfast, reading, or a chat with the discreet host. The literary-themed rooms are just one of the beautiful surprises that Paolo has in store for you, a brave person in search of true well-being.
