Description

The Agriturismo Villa Giarradea is a magnificent mansion at the end of 600. Completely renovated keeping the original external appearance (the villa is protected by the "fine arts"), the structure is immersed in the green countryside of Cortona. Giarradea Villa has a large park, spacious gardens for each of the three independent apartments in a rustic style. Each apartment has its own entrance, a beautiful fireplace and fully equipped kitchens. Barbecue and laundry room are at the complete disposal of our guests. The Cocchi's family provides from many years the cultivation of olive groves, vineyards and vegetable garden from which we produce natural and genuine products. The central location between Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Cortona and Perugia make it the ideal place for those seeking peace of mind from your holiday in the countryside, and for those who want a base from which to explore the wonders of Tuscany, 'Umbria and Val di Chiana.

Villa Giarradea Agriturismo has always been managed by the Cocchi family. Having moved to Tuscany from bustling Milan over 30 years ago, driven by their love for nature and the countryside, the family has worked diligently in renovating the Villa, which has been restored to its original splendor.

A great commitment has also been given to the agricultural part, which still plays a major role in our work, with the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, as well as the production of olive oil and wine.

Optimism and pleasure in getting to know and converse with our guests, sometimes establishing true friendships, drive us every day to continue on this path, started many years ago by our parents.

Just 10 minutes from the historic center of Cortona, surrounded by the green hills on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, very close to the ridge where the famous battle of Annibale took place. Villa Giarradea is centrally located between the territories of Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Perugia and Città di Castello. Through the nearby train station (10 minutes by car), you can easily reach Rome and Florence in a short time.

Found somewhat by chance the structure turned out to be a pleasant surprise. A beautiful villa immersed in a park with vineyards and fruit trees, consisting of 3 separate apartments, all very spacious. Despite being a group of 13 people we were comfortable. The rooms are tastefully furnished and the interiors are all in stone and brickwork. Each apartment has its own outdoor space with a gazebo and a table. There is also a space for the barbecue (there are two, one in stone and one mobile). The phone signal is poor, but all the apartments are equipped with WiFi. Nearby, a few km away, there are restaurants, pizzerias, and a well-stocked supermarket with exceptional Chianina beef. Some details could be improved, the TV for example is only present in one apartment and is of an old generation. Some rooms would need some touch-ups on the plaster, but in any case, we are really talking about details. I spend the last lines of the review for Stefano, the manager of the structure. He was very supportive throughout the stay, always ready to fulfill our requests with kindness and promptness.

The dwelling is wonderful, renovated respecting the historical construction, and with a beautiful small park. Excellent location for trips to the lake and villages. Very kind and helpful manager. The phone networks are down (all of them, missing repeaters in the entire area), luckily good wifi. Supermarkets a few kilometers away. Highly recommended.
