Our B&B is a traditional one, not entrepreneurial, it is our family home, a part of which is reserved for guests. You will therefore feel the welcoming atmosphere of a lived-in home, we will meet during the day, and we can exchange a few words over breakfast..
Our home transmits a special energy to those who stay there, many guests tell us this and preserve a memory of true well-being.
Located at the entrance of Viagrande, it is in a strategic position to move quickly towards the main tourist destinations of the area, from Etna to the Ionian coast, to Taormina, as well as to reach the CT-PA motorway.
A stone's throw from the delightful village of Viscalori, it is a characteristic Sicilian dwelling from the late 19th century, recently renovated in full respect of traditional architecture, with large rooms with vaulted ceilings and thick walls of lava stone.
The country-style furnishings with a touch of ethnic elements give a feeling of warmth and familiarity in all environments, and Susanna, the landlady, will do the rest to make guests feel at home.
The 3 rooms available to guests are located on the first floor of the house, have independent access and overlook a large central living room with a terrace. The living room is equipped with a kitchenette with everything needed for the preparation of a quick meal: induction hob, microwave oven, toaster, fridge.
All rooms have simple and elegant furnishings, are air-conditioned and comfortable, equipped with TV and WiFi, ideal for a pleasant stay.
The garden is a highlight of the B&B: designed to host butterflies and birds, it is an oasis of peace even for guests who can enjoy its romantic atmosphere during breakfast or in their free time in the afternoon.
Cultivated with organic methods without the use of poisons, it hosts flower borders from spring to autumn while in winter it is colored with the fruits of oranges and mandarins, a testimony to the ancient citrus grove of which it was once a part.
The B&B stands out for its attention to the environment and sustainable development and belongs to the Ecobnb network: equipped with photovoltaic panels, it is committed to limiting waste of energy, gas and water, detergents and other polluting products; guests are offered natural and organic products.

To start the day, guests can enjoy a rich and authentic breakfast of seasonal, organic products. Home-made bread baked in traditional stone ovens; jams and honey; organic seasonal fruits from the orchards around Mount Etna; cakes made with the flour from ancient varieties of cereals, and traditional pastries, freshly squeezed Sicilian oranges, all served in a cosy living room in winter, or in the shade of citrus fruit trees in the garden during the warmer months.

Susanna, a biologist, deals with conservation and management of nature. She runs the Monteserra Butterfly House, an important tourist destination in Viagrande where she will be happy to host you for a guided tour among the world's most beautiful butterflies.

Four of us - two couples - stayed here when we were visiting the Benanti vineyards last June. For us, the location was great and the host, Susanna, even drove us to the wine-tasting nearby and back. It is easy to relax on the back patio or terrace, and breakfast was served on the lawn below. You can walk to a couple of places nearby and since it is near Viagrande's central street, you could walk into "downtown" if you wanted to. Next time we stay, we will take Susanna up on her offers of yoga in the garden and swimming in a nearby saltwater pool. I totally recommend staying here.

Susanna made us feel very welcome. She creates a calm and homely atmosphere. Our room (ensuite) was spacious. It led directly onto the patio and Susanna's lovely garden where we enjoyed her delicious homemade breakfasts - bread, cake, preserves, and plentiful supplies of coffee. We also appreciated the kitchenette which made it possible to eat in several nights. Susanna gave us excellent advice on places to visit including Catania, Taormina, and Mount Etna. She made it possible for us to spend a delightful day at a nearby outdoor pool. Having a car was helpful and there is easy parking outside the house. Overall, we would strongly recommend Velardi.

The Velardi B&B is a FANTASTIC place to stay. Our host, Susanna, was very communicative and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and air-conditioned (a necessity given that we were there during the hottest week of the summer). The bathroom was enormous and had a lovely shower that was lit from above with a skylight. Breakfast in Susanna's garden, a tucked away oasis, was magical: fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, juice, coffee, cookies, and homemade sweet breads. The B&B is located just a 5-minute walk from the central town square, convenient to restaurants and the workshop I was attending. Susanna helped to arrange for us: a guided tour of Etna, massages for my wife, a beach trip, and a tour of the Greek Theatre at Taormina--she couldn't have been more informative or helpful. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat--it gets my strongest recommendation.

My partner and I spent 4 nights at Velardi B&B for work reasons. We had a great time and almost didn't want to leave. The structure is beautiful and clean, and Susanna is a kind and helpful host. The room where we stayed, The Spice Room, is quite large and well furnished, with a nice view of an internal garden. At night, the room is quiet and you can rest peacefully. During the day, it is also possible to have breakfast in the garden, just as we did thanks to Susanna. The internet connection works very well, and you can work comfortably with your own laptop from the room. The B&B is located near the center, a stone's throw from a supermarket and pharmacies, and is an excellent starting point to visit Mount Etna and its surroundings. What enhances the structure is the kindness and availability of Susanna, a true master of the art of hospitality. We had a great time, highly recommended!

Wonderful place!
