Description

“Vado al Massimo” is a Guesthouse situated in Via Donizetti n. 19, in the city centre of Palermo. Guests who come from the airport or from the railway station or the port can easily get it.

The flat has been recently restored and is on the fourth floor in a building of the fifties and it is equipped with a lift. All the rooms are large, full of light and provided with every comfort: Air Conditioning, TV, wi-fi, hair dryer and minibar. Furniture is modern and chosen with great attention so that offering the guests a friendly atmosphere.

From the rooms balconies one can enjoy a beautiful sight of the Massimo theatre and of a lively market.

Via Maqueda, Via Libertà, the most important theatres of the town, Via Principe di Belmonte (considered the most elegant area of Palermo) are nearby.

The guests can walk in the surrounding zone which is full of wonderful churches and impressive sights.

They can stop in the restaurants and nice confectioner’s shops to taste the delicious Sicilian pastry, special food and to buy souvenirs.

There was a damage caused by the previous guest. This delayed access to the room by about 40 minutes. Perhaps, confused by the inconvenience, the host did not leave water in the fridge or a glass. It is worth mentioning that it is possible to leave luggage on the day of check-out to pick it up at the time of departure.

Ideal accommodation for visiting Palermo. The location is unbeatable, everything is nearby, and the accommodation is clean and spacious. To mention one downside, the mattress wasn't entirely comfortable, but without a doubt, if I return to Palermo, I would stay at Massimo al Vado again.

Central area of Palermo, from the counter you can see the Teatro Massimo. Comfortable room. Guests of the property have a kitchenette where they can make coffee and tea. Definitely worth returning!

In a quiet street with parking. On the 4th floor with elevator. Very hard bed and electrical appliances a bit shaky. Clean with adequate towels and free coffee machine, tea etc. Small fridge very noisy though.

Mr. Paolo was very kind: he welcomed us with courtesy and showed us the main monuments of the city, also advising on the means of transport to reach them if necessary and on restaurants where to eat. We had a good time.

The property was good. However, I would say I would never use Bed-and-Breakfast it again. The website repeatedly asked me to inform the arrival time, so I tried to do that, but the only messaging icon I found on the website for the existing reservation actually made another, unnecessary reservation, which cost me additional euros. The correct way of informing the arrival time turned out to be the SMS with the telephone number shown from the telephone icon. However, for me, the telephone icon should be used for making actual voice calls, rather than a message. The UX needs to be improved. I would use a competitor's service for such booking in the future.

It is an apartment with large rooms, finished in a simple but welcoming way, clean, quiet and comfortable, kitchen available, used for the first coffee. The location is definitely strategic (adjacent to Teatro Massimo) and from there it was possible to visit the whole center on foot, Via Maqueda and the characteristic neighborhoods (Vucciria, Ballarò, Borgo Vecchio, la Cala). I happened to be there on the days of the birth of Libero, Paolo the owner's son, who was rightly taken by the most beautiful event in the world and with whom we only spoke on the phone for the necessary instructions; however, Paolo's father was present, a sweet and hospitable person. I hope to return there.

I recommend staying at this Bed and Breakfast if you are undecided. The hosts, a very friendly and smiling couple, welcomed us very well and gave us excellent directions for our stay. The structure is quite new and well furnished, there is also a large kitchen with everything necessary to consume (if needed) your meals on-site. The rooms are clean and tidy, in the evening when we returned, the bed was even made! I would have never expected it! Very kind! The private bathroom was equipped with towels, soap, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer, basically everything. Hot water always available. The street below the Bed and Breakfast is very quiet, even though just around the corner (about 100 meters away), the historic center is within easy reach, we walked all over the city thanks to its proximity to all the most beautiful areas of Palermo. The shuttle to/from the airport is also a 10-minute walk away, so I would say it's a convenient location for various reasons. All you have to do is book and enjoy the city.
