Description
The Tenuta Carcara estate extends over an area of 48 hectares, cultivated according to certified organic methods.
The farm lies against the multicoloured backdrop of the delightful surrounding Hyblean countryside, changing with the seasons from soft autumnal tints to the intense green of winter and the golden yellow of summer and complemented by the intense blue of the sea out on the horizon.
The “agritur” consists of a group of houses and a few communal buildings – the “large barn” and the “coach house” – giving onto two large paved courtyards, as well as the garden covering an area of over 3, 500 m2. These communal areas give you the opportunity, should you wish, of socialising with the other guests during your stay. The four houses are of different sizes, accommodating from two to six people, and are all tastefully furnished with air-conditioned and all comforts.
The Tenuta Carcara is in the south-east Sicily, a short distance from the most beautiful sites of the Noto Valley – Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Scicli, Noto – and a few kilometres from the more lively areas and the tourist port of Marina di Ragusa. The nearby Hyblean seaside towns and the bathing areas are within easy reach: from the archaeological sites of Kamarina to the splendid beaches of Sampieri and Punta Secca (where you will find Inspector Montalbano’s house). Day trips to Siracusa, Catania, Taormina and even Malta – just an hour from the port of Pozzallo – are all possible. You could even break your stay with a sailing trip along the Hyblean coast.

We really loved our stay at Tenuta Carcara. The agriturismo was very beautiful - a charming property that was clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. We really loved the gardens and enjoyed going in the pool, even though it was a little cold in April, and our son enjoyed the ping-pong too! The hosts were welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed learning about the plants growing in the garden. It was a lovely rural location for a quiet break away and a great place to relax. We enjoyed eating in the courtyard in the sunshine. A car is necessary and it is 20 minutes or more to nearby places. There are lovely towns to visit nearby and great restaurants (Ragusa and Modica) and beaches (Punta Secca, Marina di Ragusa) and interesting archaeological sites to explore.

The property is a charming farmhouse with a lovely garden area and a new immaculate infinity pool and alfresco area. The rooms have been converted from the farm and floors are large uneven stones, so you need to wear shoes inside or it is a bit uncomfortable. I thought it added to the charm, my husband thought it was a pain. Beds were very hard and the wifi was not great for us. We did find it a little isolated especially with no breakfast and little in the way of supplies, the nearest supermarket/restaurants were 20-30 minutes away.

Tenuta Carcara is practically an oasis of peace and serenity. Ideal for those who want to break away from the daily routine and want to relax. The structure is well cared for in every little detail, clean and the apartments are spacious and respect the style of the place. A former farmhouse immersed in the Ragusa countryside, far from the city noise. The park is fantastic, also well-kept and green, like the lawn around the pool, perfect for a relaxing swim at any time of the day. The structure is located in an optimal position, between the cities of Ragusa, Modica and Scicli. The owners are very kind, helpful and welcoming. My partner and I spent unforgettable days.
