Description
In addition to numerous sites of historical and artistic interest, the city of Ragusa is also famous for its peculiar eno-gastronomic traditions and for its proximity to the beautiful white sandy beaches that are just 20 minutes away. Ragusa is therefore a pleasant combination of art, history, culture, sea and eno-gastronomic traditions located in a landscape with a mild climate all year round and therefore ideal for your holiday at any time.
Our structure is located 10 minutes walk from Ragusa Ibla, following the aforementioned staircase, 2 minutes from the historic center of Ragusa Superiore, and 20 minutes from the sea (Marina di Ragusa). Very close to our structure are also bars, pubs, restaurants, pizzerias, supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, pharmacies, as well as the bus station (about 10 minutes away) and the Civil Hospital (about 5 minutes away). A 40-minute drive away are the interesting tourist sites of Noto, Siracusa and Marzamemi; The Baroque sites of Modica and Scicli are just a 20-minute drive away. A 15-minute drive away is the beautiful Donnufugata Castle.
Our structure is also located about 100 meters from the San Vito Bridge, from which you can admire the other two bridges of the city: the Ponte Vecchio (also called Ponte Padre Scopetta), which is the oldest and now only pedestrian, and the bridge of Via Roma (also called Ponte Nuovo). The three bridges overlook the Vallata Santa Domenica, the green lung of Ragusa, and give to those who look at them a unique panorama, which has given Ragusa the nickname "City of the three bridges".
For fans of the fiction "The Commissioner Montalbano", finally, the province of Ragusa is the right place to visit because its wonderful landscapes are the places where this fiction is set: we start from the famous house of Montalbano in Punta Secca, and then continue with the Castle of Donnafugata, which represents the home of the boss Balduccio Sinagra, to get to Ragusa Ibla, where many scenes are shot in external fiction, especially in front of the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio. Also in Ragusa Ibla there is also the Circle of Conversation, where some scenes have been shot, and the Church of San Giuseppe in Piazza Pola which in the last episodes represented the headquarters of the Vigata police station. The tour of Montalbano also continues in the areas of Modica and Scicli. In Scicli, in particular, there is the Town Hall which was for many episodes the headquarters of the Commissariat of Vigata, inside which is the room of the Questore of Montelusa (which is actually the room of the Mayor). Finally, to complete the tour, we also remember the Fornace Penna, in Sampieri, in Pisciotto, a former brick factory destroyed by fire, which in the film was renamed "La Mànnara".

Hey from Frank
After traveling the world far and wide and having developed an interest in the knowledge of cultures completely different from ours, we decided to open this structure that will be able to make known to many people, coming from lands near and far, a bit of our world, our flavors, our traditions and our beautiful landscapes.
The name of the structure is a tribute to Costa Rica, a country where the term "pura vida" is used, as well as a greeting, also as a wish for a simple and quiet life, free from stress and constraints, where everyone does what he loves and spends every day serenely. To this end we have added "baroque" to recall the architectural style that characterizes our land and that manages to transform every single village into a glimpse of art and culture.
Inside our structure the names of the 3 rooms are also a tribute to some of the most beautiful countries we have visited in recent years:
Ko Lipe, the beautiful unspoilt island of southern Thailand on the border with Malaysia, has captured our hearts for its beautiful white sand beaches and its emerald green sea. At Ko Lipe there are no means of transport, with the exception of tuk-tuks used for taxis for tourists, for which you walk only on foot, always surrounded by a spectacular landscape worthy of a real paradise on earth. The lances, typical boats of the place, and the friendly local people, blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, creating a perfect balance between the works built by man and nature.

Manhattan, the beating heart of New York, which represents America and Western culture, the world where everything is possible and everyone can realize their dreams, has impressed us with its grandeur and majesty. Nothing is on a human scale, but everything is built to amaze and fascinate. Flying over Manhattan with a helicopter was one of the most beautiful experiences because just looking at it from above you can understand the grandeur and majesty of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, symbols of an increasingly modern and advanced civilization.
Over the years we have combined the passion for travel to another of our great passion: the bike. This passion has led us to cross the whole of Italy on two wheels, starting from our Ragusa - the southernmost province of Italy - and making stops in Calabria, Puglia, Umbria, Trentino and Valle d'Aosta, and then trespassing, passing through the beautiful winding streets of the Alps, in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland.
We hope to convey to our guests this passion for travel, with the hope that they can also fall in love with Sicily, and in particular the province of Ragusa.
We hope many of you will come,
Alessia and Frank.

What guests say
Reviews consistently highlight the excellent cleanliness, modern style, and attention to detail, with many guests mentioning the property feels new or recently renovated. The central location is a major plus, offering easy access to key attractions, restaurants, and shops. The hosts, Frank and Alessia, are frequently praised for their friendliness, helpfulness, and valuable local advice. Rooms are described as comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped. While a few guests mention a lack of charm, the overall functionality and warm hospitality more than make up for it. Overall, this is a well-regarded, practical place to stay in Ragusa.
