Pensione Tranchina

At breakfast, we try to satisfy both those who love sweet and savory foods. We will serve you homemade sweets, fresh seasonal fruit, our different daily jams (oranges, figs, apricots) and local honey, cured meats, and fresh bread baked. You will also have the possibility to taste the organic olive oil from our harvest and Sicilian cheeses, including fresh sheep ricotta.

The dinner menu is fixed, consisting of a first course, a second course of fish, a side dish, fruit, and dessert. The menu varies every day, so you can taste a different first course of Sicilian tradition or our family tradition each time, such as pasta with Trapanese pesto, pasta with sardines and fennel, a revisitation of "pasta alla norma". Among the second courses, carefully and simply prepared to preserve the taste of the sea, there are tuna, sweet and sour or grilled, prawns, sea bream with salt but also many fish considered "poor", such as sardines "a beccafico", John Dory, and dolphin fish. For those who wish, we prepare meat or vegetarian second courses.

In our Pensione, we do not serve lunch, so you will be free to enjoy the beauties of Western Sicily or relax on the beach and taste the delicacies that Sicilian street food offers: the "cunzato" bread (bread cooked in a wood-fired oven, "cunzato" (seasoned) with olive oil, oregano, anchovies, tomatoes, and fresh cheese), arancini, sfincione (Sicilian pizza), panelle, and much more.
