Best B&B in Catania. Great rooms with balconies and views overlooking the main square and historic buildings. Easy walking distance to everything, surrounded by excellent restaurants and cafés. Great hospitality and service with breakfasts included. Secure location. A bit noisy sometimes, but it did not bother us; it was a small trade-off for being in the best location.

The accommodation itself is quite good despite the entrance to the building being a bit depressing. When you go up to the first floor without an elevator, the accommodation is quite good. The management is good, very friendly, cleanliness, city centre, shops and restaurants, etc. However, there is a restaurant just below that plays music at full volume and you have the music and the noise of people in your room until almost two in the morning. If you go to Catania to party and come back late to the B&B, this is your place. If you want a place to go to bed early, rest and get up early to do excursions then look for another less central place because although the rules say the music must stop at 1 a.m., they do not pay attention and the B&B rooms are not soundproofed at all.

The location is great, by the beautiful Piazza dell'Università in the heart of Catania. The room was nice and clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the piazza. The owner, Chiara, was very friendly and helpful. We liked her very much. Downstairs there was a waterpipe bar playing loud music every evening until 1 or 2 AM. Therefore, there were earplugs on the nightstands.

We had a fantastic stay at Palazzo Sant'Alfano. Lovely room with a quirky art theme and a fabulous balcony overlooking the main square in Catania, lively in the evening with bars underneath. Our host Chiara was lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The room and the location are excellent, the entrance is not very nice, you access through a courtyard and there are stairs that have no light. At breakfast, there was no replenishment of supplies, in the room service, they did not change the towels for three days and supplies were not replenished. Lastly, there was a lot of noise until dawn in the local establishments on the ground floor, although the host was very kind.

Although the access to the portal is a bit dirty, the establishment is very welcoming and clean. The views of the square are very nice and the balcony is ideal for having a beer while watching the environment, which at night turns into loud music until midnight or one o'clock. But it wasn't a big problem either, they even provide earplugs. Very close there is a paid parking where you can leave the car.

The structure is very central, in a pedestrian area near the cathedral. The room is beautiful, large and equipped with all comforts. In the bathroom, I also found with pleasure a makeup remover and a moisturizer. There is also a nice little terrace overlooking the University square. Chiara, the person who welcomed us, was also very kind and caring. But unfortunately, the major drawback, at least for the rooms that overlook the square, is that right under the windows there is a bar that plays very loud music until late at night, and even with the windows closed and earplugs (left for us on the bedside table), it is impossible to sleep! This certainly ruined our vacation, and that's why I gave 5 to the location. If you want to stay here, ask for the rooms at the back.

Siamo tuttavia molto dispiaciuti che la vivacità notturna del centro storico abbia compromesso il suo riposo. Come ha notato, cerchiamo di prevenire ogni disagio offrendo kit di cortesia specifici, ma ci teniamo a rassicurarla che non smettiamo mai di lavorare per migliorare ulteriormente il comfort delle nostre camere. Speriamo di poterla ospitare nuovamente, magari in una delle nostre camere più interne e silenziose. A presto.
