Description
Delightful Bed & Breakfast in a historic building on the most elegant street in the pedestrian center of Catania. Just a 5-minute walk from Piazza Duomo and the Cathedral Basilica of Sant'Agata. The property has just been renovated and each room has a private en-suite bathroom. From the balcony, you can admire Mount Etna. Fresh breakfast with local products every morning.
The B&B is brand new and recently renovated. The 5 rooms are spacious and each has a private en-suite bathroom. In the rooms, you will also find a minibar, kettle, and coffee machine. The balcony in the rooms allows you to enjoy the view of Mount Etna and the pedestrian center of Catania.
HISTORICAL NOTE:
The first floor of Palazzo Costarelli was built back in 1810 by the Costarelli brothers, Don Martino and Don Vincenzo (the "Don" was an honorary title, not ecclesiastical). In 1831, Don Vincenzo Costarelli also built the second floor. The palace remained with two levels until the early 1900s when the third and fourth floors were built by Vincenzo Costarelli. This Vincenzo Costarelli (who remained unmarried) was my uncle, as he was one of the 5 children of my great-grandfather Francesco, married to Leonardina (the other 4 siblings were my grandfather Martino, Giuseppe, Salvatore, and Antonino).
The B&B was created by me in the house where I was born, and where my parents Francesco and Elvira lived before me, and before them, my grandparents Martino and Letizia.

I am a retired doctor, married to a delightful wife who supported me in my dream of creating a bed and breakfast in our family's historic palace. With the invaluable help of our daughters, we have brought new life to this historic residence, which is a very important place for us. I will personally take care of going to the market in the morning to let you taste fresh Sicilian products. I can't wait to welcome you!
