Description

MAD (in Ballarò) Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of Palermo, two steps to the famous Ballaro Market and Quattro Canti square, ten minutes to the Cathedral, the Teatro Massimo and all the monuments and the most important places in the old town.

In 10 minutes you can easily reach the Central Railway Station and the bus stop to /from Palermo Airport. The harbour of Palermo is a 25 minutes walk.

The handcrafted design, great passion of the owners, makes very original and creative the apartment. It's newly renovated and offer great privacy and all comforts.

The common areas, friendly and colorful, are available to guests, with a selection of books, comics and board games; in the green little terrace, space for smokers.

The two bedrooms are equipped with private bathroom for the exclusive use, LED TV 24 "and DVD / Blue ray player, NETFLIX, free wi-fi, desk, air conditioning and heating in the winter and decorated with works of artists and craftsmen of recycling.

We offer a full breakfast (gluten free on request) in the living room and a relax area in the little covered terrace.

You can come here with your dog too, by communicating in advance.

Every day our guests can choose a different breakfast from our menu: Espresso or American coffee, a wide selection of teas and herbal teas, milk (on request, also rice or soy milk), an excellent machine for preparing cappuccino, yogurt, fruit juices, freshly squeezed orange juice; and then butter, Nutella, fruit and honey jams, biscuits, corn flakes, muesli, rusks, white bread.

Breakfast takes place in complete autonomy, without set times, to make your stay more pleasant.

Upon request, gluten free breakfast is available for our celiac guests.

We're Antonella and Santino, a young couple of creative, travel lovers and locals of beautiful Sicily.

We studied Archaeology and Art, wère in love with our city, its history and its hidden places.

We decided in 2015 to open our home to travelers and creativity lovers and we love so much to give to our guests our tips about traditional and alternative Palermo.

Here we try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, thanks to the comforts we have equipped the rooms, a great privacy and a genuine breakfast.

MAD is also a laboratory of ideas open to artists and new experiences, the result of the creativity of young local artisans and our love for details: together we organize workshops and re-use experiences our guests.

Upon arrival wèll welcome you with a good coffee and all our tips to visit the multiform Palermo.

MAD bed & breakfast is located a two minutes (walking) to the Quattro Canti and the churches of Jesus (so called Casa Professa), San Cataldo, and Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio (Martorana), to the historic market Ballarò, attended by hundreds of people, and the Fontana Pretoria. In ten minutes you can reach the Cathedral, the Teatro Massimo, the Palace of the Normans. All other monuments, museums and gardens of the old town are easily reached on foot, without the use of public transport.

We stayed at this small Bed & Breakfast for a few days and were very satisfied. The location of the establishment is optimal as the Mad Bed & Breakfast is in the middle of all the places of interest and a short distance from the 4 corners. Also, despite being close to many popular venues, it is located on a secluded street that is quite peaceful. The place, despite its simplicity, is very welcoming, furnished with original furniture and paintings designed by the young managers. Another strong point is the remarkable attention to cleanliness both in the rooms and common areas. We stayed in the red room, which is quite spacious, furnished rationally, and with a adequately sized bathroom. For breakfast, quality products are made available, necessarily packaged due to regulatory provisions. The hospitality of Antonella and Santino was commendable, they followed us efficiently and discreetly and provided us with useful information to enhance our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Mad Bed & Breakfast. Antonella made our trip with fantastic recommendations for food and places to visit. She also gave us an overview of the city which made it easier to navigate around. The accommodation was lovely, clean, and in a central location (just a short walk from the train station and right by the main tourist area). I would highly recommend MAD B&B.

Great Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the most beautiful monuments and picturesque areas of the beautiful Palermo. The room is very beautiful and clean, the breakfast is excellent, and the owners are very kind, providing advice on how to fully enjoy the stay in one of the most incredible cities in our country. And if there's a rainy day, don't worry: there's even Netflix in the room! Highly recommended.

This Bed & Breakfast is truly a hidden gem! In an area that, for those coming from the Padanian countryside like us, is quite striking, yet it is practically very close to the center and to the most famous historical sites to visit, a few steps from the famous and picturesque Ballarò market (a must-see!). But what makes this accommodation special is above all the hospitality, kindness, and availability of the homeowners, Antonella and Santino, ready to fulfill every request and provide very useful tourist information. A functional apartment because it lacks nothing and very clean, furnished in an original, colorful, lively way, with recycled objects cleverly reused in a creative way! If we were to return to Palermo, our accommodation would still be this without a doubt. Highly recommended to anyone, singles, couples, families. The only negative note: having stayed only 3 days! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our mini vacation even more enjoyable.
