Description

In the very heart of a “split pomegranate” – as the city of Modica is often referred to – amidst a late-baroque, grain-colored architecture, within a building of the second half of the 19th century, that has belonged for many centuries to the same family and looks on a garden with luxuriant lemon-trees, is the “L’Orangerie”, a stylish Bed & Breakfast offering a relaxing stay in elegant rooms and spacious attics looking over flowered terraces where you can consume your breakfast, otherwise served in the picturesque “d’antan” kitchen.

All the rooms and apartments are equipped with stylish furniture, as a perfect combination of comfort and historical ambience; on the walls ranging in colors from coral to brick red, to cream-yellow and dark-green, are outstanding works of contemporary graphic arts, that along with the historical design give the rooms a quaint and charming feel.

Historic building. We stayed in a small apartment on two levels. The bathroom is a bit small with no space for personal belongings. The most uncomfortable thing is that the bathroom is not on the same floor as the sleeping area. Overall, it's comfortable. Comfortable bed and large, pleasant terrace. The owner is reserved but always available if needed.

I have been visiting the Orangerie for twenty years and every time I am surprised by the extreme courtesy of the owner, by the value of the historic building and by the furnishings. The balconies also offer charming views of the baroque. A true gem. Don't change!

A perfect location to visit Modica. The interior spaces offer a unique and highly interesting decoration (the breakfast room with the kitchen preserved as it was in the '800 is almost museum-like). The owner/manager is very kind.

Great location. A few steps and you're right in the center! Rooms are like mini apartments. The common areas are elegant, a historic residence that exudes a noble family atmosphere. The owner is very helpful but not intrusive at all: if you ask, you will receive. We will gladly return.

L’Orangerie is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast located in a small street in the lower part of Modica, close to all major points of interest. A structure obtained in a historic building. The room was perfect: spacious, clean, and with a small balcony overlooking the town. Varied and abundant breakfast with the possibility to taste typical sweets and chocolate, all served in bowls and cups in Caltagirone ceramics. The owner was very courteous and provided us with some information about the city, as well as the surrounding area. We couldn’t have asked for more, I feel like recommending this place also considering the excellent value for money.

In the photos it looks completely different, the structure has its ancient beauty but needs renovation, in the room there was a musty smell and it was not very clean. I did not like the colored and old towels. Modest breakfast. Pay attention to the directions on Google Maps that lead you to a street so narrow that you can get stuck or scrape the car. Price too high. I would not return.

Beautiful residence in the historic center. As soon as you enter the entrance gate, you immediately breathe the atmosphere of important residences with precious materials, well-kept furnishings, and original paintings. The room is simple but full of details, comfortable bed and finally a rich and satisfying breakfast accompanied by the presence of the host, a very kind and affable person. I have been frequenting L'Orangerie for years, an elegant and discreet structure in the center of Modica. I love the furnishings that blend contemporary design with early 1900s elements, the frescoed ceilings, the terraces full of jasmine and passionflower. This year the measures for sanitization and social distancing have completely satisfied me. Always admirable the kindness and cultured and polite conversation of the owner.

Very pleasant B&B. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, in a beautiful building in the historic district of Modica. The hosts are very friendly and willingly share their knowledge of the region. The immediate proximity to Cours Umberto allows for leisurely strolls on foot in the lively and historic neighborhoods without experiencing the nuisances: this B&B is very peaceful. We will return without any hesitation!

Fascinating historically renovated apartment, only small flaw the mattresses are a bit too hard for my taste. The pedestrian access from the parking lots of Corso Umberto is a short staircase.

We had a delightful stay at L'Orangerie, which was an authentic little gem in Modica. Giovanni and Maria were very welcoming and lovely hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is excellent, a quiet yet central street, and we would certainly love to stay there again.

Great stay. The property is located in the center of Modica but quiet. Well furnished and clean rooms, very well-kept and elegant environments. Thanks to the Owner Mr. Giovanni, very courteous and helpful, and to the lady who takes care of breakfast. Enjoyed a taste of Aztec chocolate from the Bonajuto chocolate shop. Recommended property. This is a luxury Bed and Breakfast. Everything super ok. Extremely clean room, very quiet place; very abundant breakfast, rich in fresh and genuine sweets with a wide choice and using the excellent typical Modica chocolate; very kind and helpful manager; Bed and Breakfast located right in the center, practically just a stone's throw from the main street. As you can see in writing my review, I used exclusively the absolute superlative, naturally because the structure deserves such a judgment.

One of the first Bed and Breakfasts in Modica and certainly one of the most elegant, located in an ancient noble palace. I have sent dozens of my guests to this property and their comments have always been enthusiastic. A few steps from Piazza Matteotti and Corso Umberto, the city's historical and cultural center. The rooms are elegantly furnished and the walls are adorned with paintings by the artists of the Scicli School. If you are looking for charm, you have found it.
