Description

An island of green in the heart of Sferracavallo 5 minutes walking to the sea (cliff and sand). A small villa with garden, built-in early 1900, restored and with a garden, in a quiet location.

The double rooms, also single-use, all come with ensuite bathroom, vintage floors, hairdryer, safe, flat-screen satellite TV, independent heating/air conditioning and unlimited wi-fi.

Always, with every guest change, the apartment is cleaned and disinfected giving priorities to areas frequently touched such as switches, remote controls, handles in addition to other parts of the house, for your and our health.

The Massimo theatre and other areas of interest in Palermo can be reached in 10/15 minutes thanks to the proximity to the bus stops (628/616/614).

The centre of Sferracavallo is far from Il Dammuso in a 5-minute short walk: there you can find many restaurants where you can taste fresh fish in front of the sea.

It is easily accessible from the airport by car and by public transport and is ideal for both business and holiday stays.

The name of the structure derives from the fact that the historic area of Sferracavallo where we live, once housed buildings in Dammuso, such as the roofs of the ground floor of our house (at the moment not open to visitors because it belongs to our house), but which have also given the name to the street where we are.

We are Ilaria, Pina and Francesco, a family that loves to welcome those who appreciate the beauties, sometimes hidden and overshadowed, of our country and its surrounding territory.

Area seaside

Our home is 100 m far from the sea (beach, rocks and solariums). Famous restaurants, bus stops, town's centre, are about 100 m far from the hotel.

This maritime place, integral part of Palermo city sea zone, is near the Capo Gallo's marine protected area, a strategical place ideal for a work in the middle or in the neighbourhood of Palermo (10 km is the distance to the city centre), to visit interesting cultural touristic zone such as Palazzo dei Normanni (17 km, 23 mins), the cathedral (17 km, 23 mins), Santa Rosalia’s sanctuary (city protectress; 16 km, 20 mins), Monreale’s cathedral (18 km, 25 mins), Salemi, Trapani (90 km), Erice, Cefalù, and all the northwestern Sicily;

Sferracavallo is far from Palermo Falcone-Borsellino airport 19 km (17 mins), from Paolo Borsellino velodrome 7 km (10 mins), R. Barbera common stadium 17 km, 15 mins, 15 km (20 mins) from the port. You can arrive at Sferracavallo choosing tree different bus lines: 616, 628, 677, or taking our bikes and vice versa.

Sferracavallo, an oasis of green in the centre of the city, is in the middle of Capo Gallo’s Natural Marine Reserve, so you can do jogging, running and mountain biking in the promenade or inside the reserve.

That's why we think that represents an ideal point of support even for short overnights, in summer or winter time; a good relaxing alternative otherwise the beautiful city centre.

Located in the town where the best fish is served. For those who do not have high expectations, it is perfect. Nearby there is the metro that connects to Palermo. The rooms are spacious and clean. The welcome is friendly. Ilaria was very kind. I would definitely return. The only gap is the lack of parking.

Great location, in front of the gelateria Delizia run by friendly Bartolomeo's family. Easy to get to the sea and center on foot. Handy for the bus into Palermo. Delightful host.

You have arrived in paradise. Near there is Palermo. But still all the untouched nature. Ilaria gives you all the advice. Breakfast is done in the nearby ice cream parlor, 20 meters. Il Dammuso is a lovely bed and breakfast run by the super hospitable homeowner Ilaria. The room was nice and light, with windows overlooking the lovely garden. A pretty large bathroom with a bath in it. Nice and clean. We spent a lovely couple of days in it and would definitely consider coming back if we visit Sicily/Palermo again.

Reception, availability and kindness, like being in the family. The center of Palermo is easily reached by the surface metro, so if you don't have to go far you can stay without a car. The sea is wonderful, the Capo Gallo natural reserve is beautiful, the people are wonderful, the food is unique. I will definitely go back.

I stayed with my wife and a couple of friends during the patron saint's feast. Despite some parking issues (due to the event) solved thanks to the care of the managers. Excellent structure and cleanliness, fabulous breakfasts. Ilaria and her parents are wonderful people. A must try.
