Surrounded by historical beauty, the Guest House Elettra is located in the heart of Syracuse, a colony of Magna Graecia founded in 734 B. C.

Cicero described Syracuse as "the greatest and most beautiful Greek city. " It has been home to artists, philosophers, and scientists, including the brilliant genius Archimedes, writer Elio Vittorini, archaeologist Paolo Orsi, poet August Von Platen, and many others.

Thanks to its strategic location, Guest House Elettra is just a short walk from all the major attractions, making it perfect for anyone looking to explore this enchanting Sicilian city.

In just a few minutes on foot, guests can reach the archaeological park of Neapolis, an area rich in excavations from various eras that highlight the city’s glorious past, including the Roman Amphitheater, the Latomie del Paradiso which connect through the Grotta dei Cordari to the Ear of Dionysius, and the majestic Greek Theater, where some of the greatest comedies and tragedies of the classical world are still performed today.

Nearby, you'll also find the Regional Archaeological Museum "Paolo Orsi, " which houses countless archaeological artifacts and exquisite sculptures, such as the Venus; the Basilica of San Giovanni with its Catacombs, built around 315 B. C.; the Shrine of the Madonna delle Lacrime, a pilgrimage site; and not least, the stunning island of Ortigia, a gem nestled in the Mediterranean Sea, rich in culture and history.

A bus shuttle stop is conveniently located nearby, providing easy access to the picturesque island of Ortigia. Our central location allows guests to reach the shopping area of Corso Gelone on foot and enjoy all available services.

"Elettra" is in an ideal location for many sightseeing programs in Syracuse: it is right in front of the archaeological area and the Greek theater; it is on a street with shops (including an excellent bookstore); in ten minutes on foot you can reach the catacombs of San Giovanni and a small public garden. It is served by urban buses. By car, you can also quickly reach, for example, the promontory by the sea where the Monument to the Fallen in Africa stands. The manager is nice, punctual, and caring. In the apartment, it seemed to me that there was a lack of community space, like a small living room - kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen: is it really forbidden, in this type of tourist accommodation, to have a community corner with a coffee maker and an electric kettle?

I had a really pleasant stay at this establishment. The room was clean and comfortable. Donovan was very kind and helpful. The location was convenient for reaching all the places of interest to me. For those visiting the Greek Theatre, the Paolo Orsi Museum, or the Sanctuary, it is ideal. Recommended.
