Thanks to its strategic location, we are exactly on Corso Gelone, which is the main street of the city of Syracuse. This makes it easy to visit the most enchanting places of our beloved land. The B&B Spigolehouse Siracusa is located 800 meters from the Neapolis Archaeological Park and a 5-minute walk from the Island of Ortigia. The bus stop to or from the airport is right in front of the building, and the train station is a 3-minute walk away.

The property itself was of good quality and the host was incredibly helpful. The booking procedure through this website, however, was not great. I received my confirmation email after making my payment and it was in Italian. I was unable to understand whether my payment had gone through or not, especially as I had used Apple Pay to make it. I made the payment again, this time using my bank card. I had two payments go through for two rooms when I only needed one. It is only because of the very understanding host Stefano that my money was reimbursed. Great property, location and host. Bed and Breakfast booking procedure, less so. My only other criticism is that one food item and one drink for breakfast is a little mean; you have to pay for a juice, even for water.

Overall it was a very nice stay, good location, very modern and clean room, nice coffee and croissant at the local coffee place. If something could be done about the noise and the smell (though it is not the owner's fault), I would have given it a 10.

Stefano was a responsive and informative host. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious for both of us. Downstairs, the café provides you with a complimentary drink (great juice!) and a pastry to start the day. The location and price were excellent. We parked the car in the paid parking recommended by Stefano and were able to see all the sights of Siracusa and Ortigia on foot.
