The apartment, situated on the second floor and accessible by elevator, includes three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining room. Siracusa is a town of Sicily, it is located in the south of the island; it is appreciated by tourists for its mild climate and the monuments, in fact it was nominated “World Heritage site” by Unesco. An alive cultural town organizes many important events, among them the classical performances, which take place in the magic atmosphere of the greek theatre in May and June; they are appreciated by Italian and foreigner classical lovers. Siracuse is a tourist town, the island of ”Ortigia“, the historical centre, is the heart of movida, there are a lot of restaurants, pizzerie and caffè. It offers attractions for young and adults. The island of Ortigia, is surrounded by the sea and there are special “solarium” where you can have a bath or sunbathing, you can also take a boat tour.

Good central location in Ortigia. Sergio, the owner, was very nice and helpful. He was always available for tips and assistance. The apartment had a small balcony with a great view of the historic center, where the action is. On weekends people like to party there; you have to be prepared for that.

The structure is in the center with somewhat old rooms. The mattress is dated and the breakfast is not adequate.

A B&B as every B&B should be, otherwise it is something else (I had one in Florence): family-like, intimate, informal, shared. Breakfast is taken together with the other guests at the large table in the center of the apartment, next to it is also the kitchen where some make a coffee, others a tea. Our room, although there were some small technical defects (the toilet and also the door-window were malfunctioning) was spacious and comfortable and equipped with a balcony overlooking the Temple of Apollo, magnificent, especially in the early morning, when it is clearly visible in its majesty and in the tranquility of the moment. During the night, indeed, this ruin of 2500 years disappears into the noise of some nearby bar (which plays questionable music, at indisputable decibels) and into the darkness; it seems indeed that it is preferred to illuminate the flea market that flanks the temple and leave the latter in total darkness. Ortigia, on the other hand, has taken this degrading turn for a few years. To return "inside" Casa Cristina, Mr. Sergio is a host from another time, a true gentleman, at the service of his guests and at the same time very discreet. We would have liked to have more time to converse with him at breakfast, perhaps about the comedy or tragedy seen the night before. Yes, because in Syracuse, in the evening, we go to the theater... Greek, of course. We will return, for a few more nights.

Casa Cristina is in a fantastic location, at the edge of the pedestrian area of Ortigia, with a view of the excavations and the sea. The palace is ancient, frescoed in the rooms, and has maintained the authenticity of a bygone era. The hosts are delightful, Sergio and his wife are perfect hosts! Highly recommended, I will definitely return!

Everything was excellent except for the sound of a band playing near the property. It was so loud I could not sleep until 1am when the band finally stopped playing. However, everything else was excellent, so I would highly recommend this place if you plan to stay outside until late or if you do not mind the sound.

Sergio is a great host, very warm and takes good care of his guests. The room I had was spacious and cheerfully decorated. The window faces the temple of Apollo, which offers a great view and is convenient for sightseeing and restaurants. On the other hand, the noise from the square and the bars can be a problem if one is not used to the city noise. The bed is very soft, which may work for some but not all.

The host is extremely polite and caring, immediately putting me at ease. He described the process to me and, handing me the keys, wished me a good stay. The room is cozy and complete with all comforts. It had just been cleaned, as I also met the assistant who had just finished in the meantime. I felt extremely comfortable and if I were to come back to Ortigia, I would already know which B&B to rely on. Pleasant.

Sergio is a very nice man. The room I stayed in was beautiful with a balcony that was directly across the street from the Temple of Apollo, a magnificent archaeological site. The breakfast was delicious.
