Description

At Portopalo of Capo Passero the sea becomes the Mediterranean sea. We are at the same latitude as the Tunisian coast. The sea, the colours and the heat bring feelings of the "Mal d'Africa", due to our proximity to the African continental shores.

Beaches of fine-grained sand extend for tens of kilometres and delicately perfumed sea-lilies grow.

The village is filled with quaint white houses where we find sone of the most popular tuna fishing industries of the Mediterranean sea. Today, it is a memorial of industrial archaeology. The name “Capo Passero” comes from the outcry “passarù” (they passed by) announcing the passage of the tuna fishes.

The sea, a resource very rich in fish, which was used in the past to produce 'Garum', an all purpose, spicy sauce, with a strong flavour usually added by Romans to many dishes.

Fish are not the only food and income source of Portopalo. We must also mention the delicious cherry tomatoes of Pachino and the exceptional wine of the “Eloro” winery.

Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs: So many cultures have crossed this sea and this countryside, so many adventures to tell. Myths, legends, and folktales chase and interweave each other mixing with true stories.

At Portopalo it is said, that during the stormy nights, when wind and sea fight, you can hear the voices of the poor wretches who crashed on the Capopassero isle with their ships.

Torrefano is the name of an ancient signal tower located in the surroundings of Portopalo. It was part of a watch tower system ordered by Charles V in 1535 to defend the island against the many pirates raids and the Saracen’s assaults.

Our B&B offers clasica Italian breakfast.

It bit clasico begin with croissant and a glass of fruit juice in our breakfast room enjoying of beautiful view on the Gulf of Noto to continue with yogurt, cereal, toast biscotate, pies, seasonal fruit, butter, jams, etc.

Hot drinks (coffee, tea, cappuccino) served so Baring, cold drinks available to customers. Instead, for those who want to serve breakfast surrounded by nature is little space for up to our open veranda.

Absolute relaxation! I stayed with my family at this wonderful property, a treat for the soul and for the view! Excellent location, breathtaking view with a pool overlooking the coast that stretches between Portopalo di Capo Passero and Marzamemi, both reachable in a short time. The structure is new, well-kept in details, with spacious, bright, and very clean rooms. The pool is really beautiful, with a splendid panoramic view of the sea that makes the stay even more relaxing. The breakfast is varied, also with fresh local products. The owners are very kind and welcoming: they made us feel at home and gave us valuable advice, especially about the weather, helping us choose each day the beach with the calmest sea and the best restaurants in the area. We loved our stay here, especially the pool and its breathtaking location. Everything was super clean and our hosts were lovely. Breakfast was one of the best of our travels through Sicily. The rooms are very comfortable but lack a window. Instead there is a glass door. Highly recommended.

The B&B Resort Torrefano is located outside the village, on top of a hill, with a magnificent view of the sea. The rooms are comfortable but a bit dark, with new furniture. The managers are very kind and provide many suggestions on things to do in the surroundings. The only downside is the breakfast: too industrial, with jams and yogurt from the Alto Adige and fruit juices in cartons. In a region so full of food excellences, I expected more. With a little effort, they could reach the top.

Building with few rooms, but with a beautiful pool and large outdoor spaces, of very pleasant modern architecture, located on a breezy hill near the lighthouse of Portopalo, five minutes (by car) from the town center and the sea, with a beautiful view of the coast and the inland towards the northeast. The property is managed by a very kind and helpful couple without any other staff. Excellent breakfast and adequate cleanliness.

B&B Resort Torrefano is located in an area 5 minutes by car from Portopalo. It is a well-maintained and very clean structure, equipped with a small pool from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea below. Almost all the rooms are on the ground floor, except for 3 on the first floor. The rooms are equipped with a small fridge, TV, and hairdryer. The owners are very kind and attentive to customers' requests. Breakfast is plentiful, with a fairly wide choice. It should be considered that neither the sea nor the town are within walking distance, as you have to walk along a road without any pedestrian protection. The cleanliness of the rooms is very well maintained.

It is a little corner of paradise. The structure is modern, very clean and welcoming. The owner and his wife are always available for any kind of request. The location and the view are exceptional. It was our second stay at the property after a few years, we will come back and recommend it without hesitation.

A corner of paradise. We chose this B&B Resort Torrefano thanks to the photos and excellent reviews, we were not disappointed, the rating is definitely a ten and praise. Stunning structure, beautiful location with sea view and sunset in the evening, extremely clean and cared for in every detail, the pool is spectacular. Among all the positive notes, I would like to highlight the great hospitality of the hosts, Roberto, Simona, little Giulia, and tiny Desideria. The day after our arrival was my wife's birthday and another guest, they celebrated us in a great way with two wonderful surprise cakes. Always present and available for a coffee, a cold drink, a chat, and some advice on the beaches. On the evening of departure, we were not lacking arancini to say goodbye. We were with friends and it was a magnificent experience for them too, we hope to repeat it soon. We arrived as guests and left as friends... what can I say, we look forward to welcoming you in Bologna. We recommend trying this B&B Resort Torrefano, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at this B&B Resort Torrefano from 14 to 18 September 2016 and found the perfect place for our holidays. Perfect for those who love peace and tranquility, excellent location both for the magnificent view of the sea of Portopalo and for the proximity of numerous tourist destinations (a car is essential). The B&B is very clean and well-kept, the managers are very kind and available for any need, including the arrival time. You will also meet little Giulia (daughter of the managers), special in public relations.

To be absolutely recommended, we will come back. A bit out of the way but only 10/15 minutes from the nearby villages.\n\nHowever, since the villages are quite busy, the fact of being out of the way becomes a positive thing.

B&B Resort Torrefano located in a strategic position to reach different beaches and art cities. Abundant breakfast and then the kindness of the managers, always generous in providing information on beaches and restaurants. Very close to Morghella beach, an oasis of tranquility.

Great B&B. New and elegant structure, with a small but charming pool. Quiet location, a few minutes by car from Portopalo and its beaches. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Rich and varied breakfast. Owners very helpful and always kind. No significant flaws. Highly recommended.

B&B Resort Torrefano well located. Offers excellent excursion opportunities. The family is very kind and strives to make everything right. All wishes are fulfilled. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is delightful. Room service is impeccable. Breakfast is ample by Italian standards.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the B&B Resort Torrefano and had a great time. We were impressed by the owners' hospitality, their attention to detail, the cleanliness of the premises, and the order in the common areas. I can only give a positive opinion. We felt as if we were at home, in a truly relaxing atmosphere, with the pool accomplice under a starry sky, the silence given by the surrounding countryside except for the sound of the sea in the distance. Regarding breakfast, it is served in a room with large transparent windows overlooking the pool (in October), there were croissants and the like, honey, Nutella, yogurt, bread, cereals, water, tea, fruit juices, fruit, cold cuts. Upon request, the very kind wife of the owner brings coffee or cappuccino accompanied by her smile that makes this place even more pleasant. Everyone has probably found themselves in a beautiful place but with inattentive staff, here you will realize that nothing is missing, for this reason we will definitely be back.
