Le Lumie is a charming B&B located in Modica, in one of the most characteristic neighborhoods that climbs along the slopes of the hill where the majestic Church of San Giorgio stands tall, and at the foot of the Castle of the Counts of Modica.
The splendid city was the capital of one of the richest and most important fiefs in Sicily between the medieval and modern ages, and a destination for travelers, poets and writers who sang its beauties.
Not far from the house where the Nobel Prize-winning author Salvatore Quasimodo was born and the Torre D'Oriente restaurant, a temple of high Modican cuisine, the B&B Le Lumie is an ideal place to spend your holidays and start exploring the monumental and natural beauty of the Val di Noto.

Excellent from all points of view. Anna Maria is a special person, very helpful and courteous. The structure is very beautiful and well renovated. From the small balcony, you could enjoy a wonderful panorama. Rich and tasty breakfasts in the small garden-terrace. Parking on a street a few meters from B&B Le Lumie. I will definitely come back.

We stayed just one night. Everything lived up to our expectations. Extremely friendly hosts who helped us make our short but intense stay even more special (be prepared to walk a lot if you want to visit Modica) with valuable tips on where to go and what to see. Highly recommended.

We loved our 3 night stay at B&B Le Lumie in 'the brown room' with small balcony - average size room, simply furnished. It has AC, and TV, free wi-fi no other facilities in the room. The bathroom had shower with curtain, cleverly designed with frosted glass wall into bedroom. Good pillows, nice linen and towels, basic toiletries. The absolute highlight is the courtyard garden, a cool relaxing oasis to come home to at the end of the day, magic views.. plus having breakfast served in the garden - the breakfast is amazing, very generous, wonderful fresh seasonal fruit, boiled eggs, yummy pastries and other regional cakes, also meat and cheese.. great coffee. A feast! This property is centrally located - location ++ it is approx. 92 steps up from Corso Umberto (Chiesa di San Pietro) less than 5min walk to Chiesa di San Giorgio - or you can walk up the road (no steps) but it is longer. Federica, Marta and their mother are wonderful, warm and welcoming hosts - with lots of good recommendations for restaurants and sights to see. We did two day trips by taxi to Noto and Scicli - also Taxi transfer to Ortigia. Restaurants: Taverna Nicastro and street food at 'Accursiò' opposite their main restaurant. I highly recommend this delightful B&B.
