Description

The house, restored and well furnished, is located in the main street of Salemi, a few steps from the Castle Frederick, archaeological museums, Renaissance epic Garibaldi and Museum of Mafia, and twelve churches, rich in works of arts.

Guests can use a kitchen, a dining-hall with sofa and TV, one comfortable bedroom and private bathrooms, wide view over the Val di Mazara and Marsala, 450 mt sea level. Reserved parking, ventilation and heating, plentiful breakfast and cleaning services are guaranteed.

My name is Franca Maria Gandolfo and I have been managing this B&B since 2001. Mine was a heartfelt choice: I have always deeply believed in the value and beauty of the historic center of Salemi, and it is here that I wanted to start my business.

I am a sunny and precise person, and I dedicate a lot of attention to the care and cleanliness of the rooms, so that every guest can feel at ease in an orderly and welcoming context.

I live in the apartment above the B&B, so I am present and easily available for any need or requirement that may arise during the stay. I have been passionate about what I do for over twenty years, trying to offer a kind and attentive welcome to anyone who decides to discover our village.

The B&B is conveniently located within easy driving distances to some of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. It takes only 15 minutes by car to reach the magnificent archaeological site of Segesta and just 20 minutes to get to the impressive ruins of Selinunte. The charming town of Erice is also within easy reach, as it's only a 30-minute drive away. If you're looking to visit the historic city of Marsala, the picturesque town of Mazara or the stunning Scopello-Castellammare coastline, you'll be pleased to know that they are all reachable within just 30 minutes by car from the B&B. The Birgi Airport is also conveniently located just 30 minutes away by car. If you're flying into the Falcone-Borsellino Airport in Palermo, the B&B is approximately 90km away, making it a great choice for a comfortable and convenient stay.

I stayed at Conte Umberto for two weeks during a ceramics course, and it was the perfect place to come home to after long days. It was incredibly convenient to the studio, cozy, quiet, and had beautiful views from the two terraces. The host and her family kept the space very clean and provided coffee and a small breakfast every morning. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful place in the old town - it was perfect!

Very clean. Very close to the Ceramics School. No heat, hot water, or internet for the first three days. I had to ask for assistance. After intervention, the internet worked for a day. There were problems getting in and out of the access door because of an old and odd procedure for opening and closing it. No orientation was given about any aspects of the accommodation. The host who lived upstairs did not check in with me during my stay. No English was spoken.

Dispiace comunicare che la suddetta recenziobe non corrisponde a verità. Infatti il B&B viene riscaldato da una pompa di calore funzionante e regolabile autonomamente, la quale risultava accesa con una temperatura di circa 30 gradi. L acqua è riscaldata da una caldaia regolarmente funzionante, tranne nel momento in cui l ospite manipola l interruttore. La linea WiFi è veloce e funzionante, tranne quando salta la rete internet esterna, non dipendente dal nostro impianto. Il portone di accesso è nuovo e funzionante. Durante il soggiorno è stato chiesto via what app se tutto andasse bene. La colazione è stata servita tutti i giorni all' orario indicato dell'ospite e soddisfacendo le proprie richieste personali. L'ospite ha avuto ha sua disposizione un intero appartamento, completo di tutti i confort, semplice e intuitivo nell'utilizzare i beni e i servizi offerti.

I highly recommend this B&B. It was immaculately clean and well appointed. The hosts were lovely. The view is one to remember. It has a great location in the old town of Salemi. They provide breakfast, but I did not need it due to other arrangements.

Manuela is the perfect host always ready to help and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The property is located on one of the main street, but not too close to any bars, so the nights are quiet. I would definitely recommend this property if you're planning to stay in Salemi.

It was so nice to stay at B&B Conte Umberto. We got completely stuck in the narrow streets upon arrival, but Nicola helped us and guided us down to a nearby parking lot and then drove us up to the apartment. Every day we got a delicious breakfast with croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurt and coffee and tea. The apartment had two balconies and a fantastic view from both the kitchen and bedroom. We enjoyed ourselves very much and were very well looked after by Nicola and his mother.

Wonderful place and wonderful and helpful host. The rooms are fantastic and the view from the balcony is spectacular. The property is located very close to the Salemi Ceramics (only a few steps) and 5 minutes walk to Piazza Liberty and town center. All in all, very perfect. Very charming Italian city.

Franca was very welcoming, the apartment was at street level in the Historic district near museums, a castle, and beautiful churches. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned every day. The view from the back windows with balconies was a beautiful vista of the countryside. The breakfast was incredible! Croissants, cakes, yogurt, and many fresh fruits. Organic teas, coffee, tea, and bottled water were included.

This is an entire apartment with full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. Both the kitchen and the bedroom had balconies with sweeping views of the Belice Valley of grape vineyards, wheat fields, and olive groves, ultimately with the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. The host was very kind and accommodating.

The owner is kind and nice. The room is very comfortable and clean. I particularly enjoyed the view. The B&B Conte Umberto is located right in the historic center near the monastery where the Salemi Ceramics course is held. The rich breakfast is included. I am very satisfied with my stay.

Very welcoming B&B and certainly very clean. The location is central and fully met our needs. Mrs. Franca welcomed us warmly and provided us with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. So, it was a satisfying experience in itself. The only downside, if you can call it that, was the excessive noise coming from the apartment above, from evening until late at night, which created quite a few problems for us who travel and need rest, making it difficult to fall asleep and waking us up later on. Another issue was breakfast, as Mrs. allowed us to have it at an affiliated bar, which, however, remained devoid of any kind of food until almost 11, making us go back and forth with the ticket several times and only managing to complete the breakfast included in the price late in the morning. So nothing to object to in itself, but just a piece of advice for Mrs. Franca, who was so helpful, to also manage the stay-related services a bit better, as they make a difference in an experience to possibly repeat or recommend.

Salemi, a clean, welcoming and exquisite B&B. For some time I had been thinking of visiting my birthplace Salemi. From Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 September I did it and I found a modern and well-kept B&B Conte Umberto. Already when booking it, I was curious to see what this B&B Conte Umberto was. Upon arrival, I could see and appreciate the harmony of the warm and welcoming decor right away. At my age (80 years old) I don't know if I will stay again in this magnificent B&B Conte Umberto. However, in hindsight, I would like to thank Mrs. Gandolfo for her courtesy and spirit of collaboration. Tonino Armata.
