If you want to experience the "Catanese life", have all the major monuments in the city at your fingertips and immerse yourself in the history and culture of Catania, then the Amenano B&B & Apartments is the perfect accommodation for you.

Nestled like a jewel between Piazza Duomo and Piazza Università, the heart of the baroque historic center of Catania, considered the ultimate expression of Sicilian architecture and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Amenano B&B & Apartments is located on the second and last floor of an elegant eighteenth-century noble palace, "Roccaforte Palace", of significant historical and architectural interest, and has been classified as "THREE STARS" by the Provincial Tourism Promotion Agency of Catania.

The Amenano B&B & Apartments has recently been renovated by the owner, an architect, who has maintained the charm and elegance of the old structure, but has added a touch of modernity by developing all the Accommodations in height, using the vertical spaces available and creating real "Lofts" for each Accommodation, i. e. totally independent mini apartments with private kitchen attached.

Each Accommodation has its own private bathroom, Fully equipped kitchen, minibar, TV, direct internet access (WI-FI), individual air conditioning and is soberly and elegantly furnished.

Breakfast is served at "Caffè Prestipino", just a 20-second walk from our front door. Ancient Sicilian pastry, famous throughout the region for its confectionery and delicacies. Open from about 6. 30am you can go for breakfast at any time, with no time limits, presenting our ticket, which will be delivered to you at check in.

I love my work, being an architect and running the B&B..Very open and sociable character, I consider myself a very hospitable person. I love Catania, my beautiful city, and for this reason able to passionately advise my guests the most beautiful and characteristic places to visit..I would like every guest to feel at home in my B&B, maybe even better..

In my free time I love to travel and anyway, every time I receive new guests, talking about the country from where they come, somehow, for a few moments, I also travel with my mind, while remaining in my city.

Area Duomo

Amenano B&B & Apartments is located less than 20 meters from Piazza Duomo (Cathedral Square) and Piazza Universita (University Square), Amenano B&B is in the heart of the baroque historical center of Catania. This historical center has always been considered as the jewel of Sicilian architecture and has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Is situated on the second floor of an elegant and historical building built in the 700's by a noble family. Therefore, the 'palazzò itself is considered to be a building of historical and architectural value.

Nightlife, known as "Movida Catanese" is located a few meters away from our B&B with a many "Caffe Concerto" and other typical local coffee shops specializing in delicious local pastries, pubs, restaurants, sidewalk café's, tavola calda and many other popular meeting places. By day, one can visit the most important monuments that the city has to offer including the Duomo, the Greco-Roman Theatre, the Amenano Fountain, La Pescheria (a historical and folkloristic fish market) the historical Palazzo dell'Universita, Via Crociferi, Via Etnea (the main shopping street) and everything else that normally can be found in the heart of a City like Catania. All this and more (including the very large daily open-air market) are within walking distance of our B&B.

Amenano B&B is certainly the best located lodging place to suite and cater for every visitor's needs and for them to conveniently see all that the city of Catania has to offer. From its strategic and central location visitors can easily reach the beaches, the mountains (Mount Etna), the railway station, bus terminus, the seaport, airport - all of which can be reached in a short time even by public transport.

The apartment is in a very good and central area, not far from the Main square and the main shopping street. It is nicely furnished and functional. The people who took care of the check-in were very nice and helpful as to how to get to the location from the airport and gave us some recommendations for restaurants, etc. However, what we did not appreciate was that we were not given the apartment we had booked, which would have been more spacious (featuring two double beds and a single bed, accommodating 5 people) instead of the one they gave us (which featured only one double bed upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs). That was quite disappointing. Also, we found it a bit frustrating that we were not allowed to leave our luggage in the hall at check-out, as we had a flight in the afternoon. These are surely some things that can be improved to make guests happier.

The apartment is located in the center of Catania. Despite being an area with bars and restaurants, the apartment is very well soundproofed, quiet and we slept wonderfully. Fully equipped apartment, with air conditioning, complete kitchenette and bedroom in the loft. Exquisite treatment from the hosts who provided us with every kind of information and advice to explore the city, in addition to welcoming us with a basket of fruit and complimentary water.

Excellent location in the heart of the city, very close to Piazza Duomo and convenient to Borsellino parking (at a charge with very affordable rates). Very friendly welcome and provision of basic necessities such as coffee and sugar, including a welcome fruit basket. Highly recommended. Until next time.

Our stay at this wonderful property was perfect! Large, clean and completely soundproof room. Very comfortable bed and strategic location for visiting the city and getting around independently. However, what makes this B&B a true gem is the management of Annalisa and Diego...two special people. We received information and messages even before our arrival in Catania. Annalisa pampered us in every way. Highly recommended property.

Exactly as shown in the photos. Only 2 minutes from Duomo square, this apartment is in an older building but completely and thoughtfully updated to the highest and most modern standards. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like water and fresh fruit waiting for you on arrival, plus coffee and a coffee pot for you to make your 1st espresso of the day. Also, daily housekeeping, which is becoming a rare event with hotels. Annalisa was very kind and helpful and made a special effort to show up ahead of time when I requested a slightly early check-in. You have all the advantages and disadvantages of being right in the center. The modern remodel includes a second set of heavy doors/windows to eliminate the evening noise, but if you are a very light sleeper, you might want to bring some earplugs for sleeping. Also, as this is an older building, the apartment is on the 3rd (American) floor (2nd for everyone else), and there is no elevator/lift. Just FYI. All in all, an optimal experience. I would be happy to stay here again and would recommend it to friends/family.

Wonderful and charming property with a great location in the heart of Catania. Our host Carmelo was very informative and was there waiting for us at check-in :) the room was very charming and had most of what we needed to cook meals. It is not such a good solution that the key is in one and if someone stays in the room there is no electricity in the room if the other person takes the key.

Comfortable. A stone's throw from Piazza Duomo. Very well structured, spacious rooms. Bathroom to be modernized. Ms. Ada very kind, helpful, friendly. The only flaw was the breakfast. I don't know if it was because of the presence of the Feast of St. Agata, but the bar service was not managed very well. To be revised. In general, highly recommended place!

The rooms are quite spacious and airy. This property is located on the second floor, there is no lift. The manager is unable to give you a hand with the luggage as he has a back problem. Book it only if you're travelling light and happy to climb the 2 flight of stairs. Breakfast consists of juice, coffee and croissant.

I can only give compliments: the property is in a strategic position, very close to all the most important points of interest in the city; well maintained following an interesting renovation; furnished and complete with everything necessary (with double fixtures that guarantee excellent soundproofing with the outside, heat pump, hairdryer...); managed impeccably by Carmelo, available beyond what one might expect. Bathroom larger than standard, daily cleaning done by an equally friendly person. We didn't have breakfast included in the price, but we still had it in the same place where the manager directs his guests who have breakfast included: excellent.

The Amenano B&B & Apartments was a great find! Right in the center of Catania, behind the university just a few steps from via Etnea. Very large room in a historic building with all the comforts and well insulated from the noise of the nearby establishments. Carmelo, the owner, very attentive to your needs and very helpful with various suggestions (even helping you with your luggage, as the Amenano B&B & Apartments is located on the 2nd floor without an elevator). Great choice for a stop to discover Catania. All 10, just an 8 for breakfast, as it is provided by the bar, due to Covid restrictions.

The B&B is in a very convenient location to visit the city. Carmelo gave us some valuable tips that allowed us to comfortably organize our visit to the city, also capturing typical aspects of the place. Catania is a very interesting city, there is much to discover, especially if aided by a valid guide, as ours was. Unforgettable stay overall, starting from the location that has its own charm. Both the structure and the city are highly recommended to visit.

With my wife, we stayed for 4 days in Catania. We were lucky to book with Mr. Carmelo, an excellent host, very kind, friendly, and discreet. The B&B is located in the ancient center of Catania, a stone's throw from the Cathedral, the Amenano fountain, and the university palace. With a few steps, you 'experience' Catania... what a life. Extremely clean rooms and a strategic location. A city to live and discover, especially on foot through its streets, even the more internal and less frequented ones, in search of glimpses, flavors, and typically Sicilian customs. Breakfast is not served at the property, but it is savored in one of the most historic and prestigious bars in Catania... The Bar Prestipino, one of the best ways to start the day well. B&B Amenano, a guarantee. If we happen to return to Catania, I believe we will return to Mr. Carmelo.
