Description

"Amélie" is the ideal place to start the visit of Palermo. Our B&B is in a pedestrian street, exactly in the city center.

The street, which crosses via Ruggero Settimo – the “salotto di Palermo” - is also the ideal area for meeting, for shopping and also to have lunch, dinner or simply to drink something. You can reach on foot the most important monuments, museums (as archaeological museum “Antonio Salinas”), and our historic markets (Vucciria, Ballarò, Capo).

From piazza Politeama you can get the bus to Mondello, Monreale and Sferracavallo.

"Amélie" is in Via Principe di Belmonte 94, exactly in the city centre of Palermo. We have 5 bright and big rooms (a triple room, 2 twin and 2 double). All our rooms have private bathrooms (two of them en-suite bath). Each room is equipped with central heating and Sicilian air ventilation, television, high speed WiFi Internet access.

We offer breakfast in a sunny, hospitable kitchen and it consists of fresh bread and brioche, fruit, coffee, milk, tea, cereals, home-made pastries, butter, honey and home made marmalade.

Hello everyone! I am Angela, the owner of the Amélie bed and breakfast.

After living in Berlin for years, I returned to my hometown to open my very own bed and breakfast. And so, in 2008, "Amélie" opened its doors to guests from all over the world.

The name comes from the French movie "Amélie, " which I highly recommend watching! My passion for my work and my immense love for my city make me a perfect hostess and city guide! If you're interested, I can give you plenty of advice on how to explore Palermo.

How to get us.

From the harbour.

Just walk for 500 meters in direction to Politeama square. At the first cross after the traffic lights turn left to Wagner street. Via Belmonte is the first cross on the right.

From the station.

Catch the bus number 101, 102, 107 and get off at the bus stop "Roma-Belmonte". Via Belmonte is in front of the bus stop.

From the airport.

Catch the bus to the city centre (the only company running this service is "Prestia & Comandè". The ticket costs 6, 50 euros) and get off at Piazza Politeama. Just walk 2 minutes to reach "Amélie".
Or you can take collective taxi that leave every moment, for 8 Euros pro person to Politeama.
If you prefer to have booked a driver (40 Euros one way 70 round trip) let me know.

The owner/manager/employee is the heart of it. She is kind, nice and lovely. She loves what she does and does it with heart. The property is charming and cosy. Centrally located, yet quiet – you can reach the center in just a few minutes on foot, and a bus stop is right around the corner. If you are looking for a noisy, overpriced and non-existent customer service lodging facility, this place is not for you! From booking through departure, proprietor Angela could not have been more attentive! The location is excellent; away from the hustle and noise of the main drag. The rooms are simple and well-appointed and the bathroom (ours was in the hallway) was clean and spotless! The breakfast was more than ample, delicious and allowed us to meet other guests from around the world! Angela also arranged a day-long tour for us as well as a cab for our departure! Do not stay anywhere else when visiting Palermo!

This is a really great place and a great deal. Angela is a fantastic host - personable and helpful. We really appreciated that she arranged for airport transportation and gave good advice on car rental and sightseeing. We are most grateful that she accommodated us for an extra day following a brief illness. Our room was clean and comfortable and well lit. Breakfast was amazing. The location is great. It is near tourist attractions and good restaurants. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

The room assigned to me was very nice and extremely clean, as was the bathroom. All the necessary amenities were present. It was not far from the train station and the center, well served by public transport. The quality price ratio was excellent. I highly recommend it and I will definitely return.

We really liked the Amélie B&B. The location makes our visit easier, being situated in a pedestrian area with good restaurants and good transport connections, but not so close to the chaos of the main tourist streets. Angela is very kind and helpful and makes a delicious cake and jam. We recommend it!

This is a lovingly and stylishly furnished bed & breakfast in a central yet quiet location. For sightseeing, it is a perfect starting point, in 5 minutes you walk to the Teatro Massimo and find yourself in the midst of many attractions and the lively area full of nice restaurants, bars, and shops. Angela is a sympathetic and helpful person, and the breakfast is fantastic. There is even homemade bakery. You feel like visiting friends. Furthermore, she speaks perfect German. Everything is super clean, the bed is very comfortable, it is cleaned daily, and my room was such that I could sleep peacefully with the window open.

The structure is located in a dated condominium, in the heart of Palermo in a pedestrian area, very convenient for exploring the city on foot. Due to the lack of adjacent parking spaces, it is necessary to park the car in a private parking lot about 300m from the structure at a cost of 25€ per day. The B&B is on the 6th floor of the condominium, equipped with an elevator. The rooms are spacious and clean. Angela is a very sweet and kind host. There is wifi available. Each room has an exclusive bathroom, although not internal, you have to go out into the corridor and access the door in front of the room. Breakfasts are quite abundant and consist of pastries made by Angela. Unfortunately, for me who also appreciates savory breakfasts, something was missing, but you can survive for 3 days. The only real discomfort we had was the difficulty sleeping the first 2 nights due to the significant presence of mosquitoes. This is obviously not anyone's fault. On the third night, we plugged in the mosquito repellent already present in the room and we were not bothered. So I recommend using it from the start. Unfortunately, the center of Palermo is noisy, so sleeping with the windows open, you cannot expect the tranquility of a countryside house. If you are sensitive to this, close the windows and turn on the air conditioning. Overall, I recommend the structure as it is located in the city center. Thanks to Angela for the hospitality.

We were very pleased by the extremely familiar atmosphere, especially the possibility of interesting conversations during breakfast with the host and guests. We received help with everything we asked for. So we were really sad to leave after a week. One of Angela's, the host's, specialties is baking: we got a fresh, excellent cake every morning! She is fluent in four languages: Italian, English, Spanish, German! The rooms are really stylish and flowers grow on the balconies.

We were there at Easter of this year and besides the chaos of looking for a last-minute flight, we were recommended this accommodation and it is absolutely perfect. I recommend to all travelers who want a beautiful room, a perfect location in the center of Palermo, a magnificent breakfast, the cleanliness and last but not least, I want to mention the sympathy, affection and attention with which Angela treated us and especially my daughter, who had to stay a few more days in the room.
