Located half way between Alcamo and Camporeale, just in the middle of the productions of Alcamo Doc (prestigious Sicilian white-wine grapes), the farmhouse Tarantola is an oasis of green and peace, far away from the stress of the city. The buildings, recently renovated for accommodation, offer all comforts for a qualitative and relaxing staying in the countryside.
The azienda, entirely cultivated with vineyards, produces precious grapes from which excellent local wines are made every year. Don’t miss the tasting of them during your staying. Next to the wine, the farm produces olive oil, jams and marmalades as well, which you can buy directly there. The gastronomy is traditional Sicilian, strictly linked to the local production.
Our most popular services are, unsurprisingly, the Wine Tasting and the Cooking Class, where our chef demonstrates the preparation of a full menu in our kitchen. The session concludes with a lunch featuring dishes prepared entirely by the guests. Advance reservations are required for both services.

The restaurant at Tarantola specialises in Sicilian country cooking – simple and tasty, changing with the seasons, using the freshest ingredients, as natural and genuine as can be. Our chef also likes to create his own versions of age-old recipes – traditional western Sicilian with a twist.
Dishes are cooked using home-grown vegetables, wild herbs foraged from the hillside, tomato paste made from our own tomatoes dried on the terrace, ricotta made from our own goats milk, fresh hand-made pasta, and the best local meat, fish and cheese.
Wine, olive oil, and liqueurs produced on the estate are all served in the restaurant.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals are on offer, but please give us a little bit of notice, as most ingredients are either picked or bought on the day.

All staff, especially the host, were very welcoming. The wine tasting was informative and very good value. The cooking class was excellent and cost about what you would spend on lunch in a restaurant, so good value and delicious. We look forward to recreating the meal when we are back home in Canada. The walks on the property offer stunning, peaceful views.

In the midst of vineyards and away from inhabited areas, absolute tranquility. 'Old-fashioned' environments. Noble owner, of lineage and heart. Very hospitable and friendly staff. Traditional Sicilian cuisine and good quality breakfast. Top wines, those who can should take advantage of it!

What a lovely place to immerse yourself in the peace of the countryside, surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see. Tarantola, literally situated "at the end of the road," in western Sicily, provides rustic hospitality including clean, furnished rooms and better than expected breakfasts and dinners. Although a family member is often available to provide a wine tasting, they were otherwise occupied with the business of the winery during my visit. Nonetheless, their wine was routinely available during the day and with meals. Special thanks to the hospitality team who, among other things, helped me resolve an issue with the tires on my rental vehicle.

The people were all lovely, along with the food. Food and wine made with absolute love that we still benchmark other accommodations in Italy to, mad props to Francesco and his wife. However, stronger water pressure in the bath and the presence of a hair dryer will make this agriturismo almost perfect. Why almost? That is because the road leading into it can be better paved, a public works issue hopefully to be resolved with the local council some time... Hello Fabrizio and Francesco!

We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the countryside for a few days, although not easy to find this hideaway location. Francesco our host and cook spoilt us every day with delicious Sicilian food. We discovered our new love for vegetables paired with fruity white wine from the farm. We love Francesco and his lovely wife! Grazie mille.

We had a fantastic one night stay at this property. It was the highlight of our whole trip. The rooms were comfortable but basic. However, the property and location were spectacular, and the hosts did everything to make us feel welcome. In particular, the chef Serverio, who was able to accommodate well for vegan food, which was a big bonus. Although the vegan breakfast options could be improved. No trip would be complete without wine tasting and the opportunity to hear Flippo's story while enjoying some beautiful vintages. Prices were reasonable; would recommend asking in advance to avoid some potential shocks when the bill came in.

Between the enchanting place and the people who hosted us, I wouldn't know where to start! Immersed in greenery and tranquility, it turned out to be the ideal place for our vacation. The location allowed us to see many places in five days. And in the evening, we really had the feeling of coming back home. Pampered with very fresh dishes and excellent wine, all of their own production! Just like breakfast. The availability and kindness of Filippo and his 'boys' leave a beautiful memory. This familiar and relaxing atmosphere, of a place immersed in nature and the silence of the countryside, made us spend beautiful days!
