Description

Situated in the heart of the countryside of Modica, in an elevated, charming position, the agriturismo "Il Melograno" is a perfect place to relax and experience the tranquillity of nature.

This family-run holiday farm, an old rural house recently refurbished with the walls preserving the typical local stones, offers friendly and quality service in an informal atmosphere.

The comfortable, air-conditioned bedrooms are all en-suite with bath and shower; some of them also include a cooking area.

The rooms, overlooking the valleys of the Ibleo plateau, are surrounded by a large courtyard and a garden where you can directly pick fruit in season: pomegranates, kakis, oranges, figs, prickly pears.

The adjacent, country-style restaurant, serves traditional food, prepared with the natural products grown in the farm. Our guests can enjoy the typical dishes of the local gastronomy, such as "cavatieddi" and "ravioli di ricotta", that is homemade pasta served with tomato sauce and pork meat; pulses soups with slices of homemade bread; the typical "scacce" and "pastizza" cooked in stone ovens; "arancini", an excellent rotisserie product; local cheeses; olives; traditional sweet specialities.

Conveniently situated just a few miles from many tourist destinations, the agriturismo "Il Melograno" is also an ideal touring base for exploring the surrounding area and visiting the baroque towns of Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli and Noto, the archaeological sites of Cava d'Ispica and Camarina and the seaside resorts of Marina di Modica and Sampieri, where you can enjoy the facilities of some bathing establishments that have an agreement with the holiday farm.

Charming place to spend pleasant hours away from everything. The owner is very welcoming and always helpful. Stay for lunch if you can; you certainly won't regret it. The rooms are a bit spartan (but that's part of the farmhouse concept).

Special place. Ivana is a host with hospitality in her blood. Very kind, always helpful and an outstanding cook! Fresh, abundant and delicious breakfasts. Rich and exquisite dinners. All local products and homemade food. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the agriturismo is peaceful, set in the Modica countryside. Modica is 15 minutes by car. A strategic location for visiting the entire Ionian coast from Syracuse to Capo delle Correnti. I highly recommend it and hope to return again.

The structure is set in an oasis of peace and tranquility in the countryside of Ragusa. Far from the noises of the city, recommended if you want to see the starry sky at night and hear the sounds of nature. The rooms are furnished in old Sicilian style, clean and functional with a small fridge and TV. For breakfast, there are excellent cakes prepared by Ivana, who runs the place with great professionalism, cordiality, and never fails to give you a little pampering. Let us start by saying one thing: we are in open countryside, harsh and fascinating, between Modica, Scicli and Ragusa. Therefore, the judgment must be given taking these characteristics into consideration. I stayed for three days and experienced three days of true Sicily. Here we go with a sword and not with a foil. Abundant breakfasts, dinners with local products and a magical atmosphere. Ivana puts competence and passion into what she does and the results are excellent. To be tried and tried again!

Rustic structure, a real full immersion in Sicily. The countryside around is wonderful; the breakfast products are at zero kilometers, some at zero meters. Even dinner is special, with many typical products. We were greeted by Ivana with great hospitality and cordiality! The structure, even though in the Ragusa countryside, is very convenient for visiting Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Noto, the Vendicari Reserve. We even went as far as Syracuse. The structure is located in the typical Modican countryside characterized by low dry stone walls that divide the plots where the typical carob trees are present, and this is why we liked the B&B "Il Melograno". In addition, there is the central position with respect to the Baroque cities we wanted to visit: Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, Noto. Furthermore, we were "overwhelmed" by the courtesy, availability, and competence of Ivana who pampered us throughout the period. We could not taste all the specialties proposed for dinner but we emphasize the high quality of the ingredients, one above all the fresh ricotta inside the cannoli, not to mention the abundant and tasty breakfasts. The farmhouse is located centrally for those who want to visit Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, Marzamemi, and also for those who want to spend a few days by the sea. Ivana was very kind in welcoming us and super helpful. Our room was large and spacious with all the necessary comforts, abundant and very good breakfast. We absolutely recommend!
