Description

Sa Mamma e Sole is a recently built Bed and Breakfast (2010). Our aim is to share our dream with those who want to discover the many aspects of an Island that needs no introduction and to experience the different faces of Sardinian hospitality, which is both primitive, ancient, simple, and universal.

The name, reminiscent of childhood nursery rhymes, is an inheritance from grandparents who would mention "Sa mamma e Sole" as a warning to deter stubborn children from going out during the hottest hours.

To think of Sardinia only as a beach vacation is limiting. It is an ideal destination for those who love sports: trekking, free climbing, paragliding, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, canyoning, bungee jumping, scuba diving, and spelunking are just some of the sports activities that allow you to discover the extremely diverse natural environment that Dorgali and Cala Gonone offer.

Area seaside

By car - From the port or Olbia airport, take the SS 131 bis and follow the signs for Nuoro. Take the Lula-Dorgali exit and follow the signs for Dorgali. Then follow the directions to Cala Gonone. You will pass through a tunnel. At the exit of the tunnel, you will find signs for Cala Gonone. In Cala Gonone, follow the signs to the port. The hotel is located in the port area. From Alghero, take the SS 131 and follow the signs for Sassari-Cagliari, then follow those for Cagliari-Nuoro and take the exit for Nuoro. Then, before entering Nuoro, head towards Olbia. Finally, take the direction of Lula-Dorgali and continue as described above.

From Cagliari airport, take the SS131 and at the Abbasanta exit, continue on SS131 towards Nuoro-Olbia. Take the Dorgali exit and once you reach Dorgali, follow the signs to Cala Gonone.

Good value for money. Unfortunately, the room had some shortcomings: a light bulb on a bedside table and in the bathroom was blown, a hairdryer was unusable due to the lack of a German adapter. Fortunately, the day was not hot, otherwise the fan alone would have been insufficient and with a sweltering day, the room located in a basement would have been uninhabitable without an air conditioner. Excellent and plentiful breakfast, kind and friendly hosts.

Structure with various rooms, very helpful and courteous owners, outside the center, in a quiet area but very convenient for those who want to travel. One flaw is the rooms in the basement that lack a lot of light, there is no air conditioning but the area is very well ventilated. Good cleanliness. I would suggest more fresh items for breakfast than packaged ones. However, the typical bread is very much appreciated.

Very nice, new and well-kept B&B nestled at the foot of the mountains of Dorgali that serve as a backdrop. We were welcomed by Mrs. Anna who "spoiled" us with her care and attention throughout our stay. The room is spacious, complete, and very clean! In the morning, we are enveloped in the scent of coffee that Mrs. Anna prepares, as tradition dictates, rigorously with the coffee maker. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, catering to all tastes, accompanied by the typical bread of Dorgali served warm (delicious) and Sardinian pastries. It's nice to feel at home even on vacation.

The B&B is in a strategic position for the tourist areas to visit. Mrs. Anna is very kind and super helpful! We were on vacation passing through here for 2 days and we felt at home. Spacious, clean, tidy and fresh room. The breakfast is abundant and good. Highly recommended!

Apart from some inconveniences regarding space management (the rooms are semi-basement, not clear from the photos, and after the first of the three nights we were asked to change rooms, but then it was not necessary); and apart from an invasion of ants, which, once alerted, Mrs. Anna immediately took action to eradicate by vacuuming, everything went well. Breakfast can be improved.

Excellent B&B in a quiet area a stone's throw from the aquarium and 5 minutes from the center of Cala Gonone. Recently built structure with a bathroom in every room. Abundant breakfast just like at home. Mrs. Anna is kind and helpful like a mom.

The drawbacks of the room are that there is no air conditioning and at night it gets hot even with the fan. The other issue is that we were placed next to the breakfast room and were woken up by voices (the lady, Anna, is very kind and talks a lot). The breakfast is good if you like sweet things, but we don't. It is very complete in terms of sweet items. If you don't have a car, it is far from the center.

The structure is new and very clean. The lady who manages the Sa Mamma e Sole B&B is very kind. The breakfast is varied. The only flaws are that the rooms are in the semi-basement and that the bathroom window does not have a mosquito net (the area is full of mosquitoes). Otherwise everything is ok. Excellent as a base. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Sa Mamma e Sole B&B for 3 days, we had a great time. I thank the lady at the Sa Mamma e Sole B&B for providing us with milk for the baby's bottle at 11:30 pm. Advice: give guests the opportunity to access the kitchen freely as in other B&Bs.
