Description

Residenza Kastrum lies in a convenient position in the heart of the town’s historic centre.

Our Residenza is a guest-house whose four double bedrooms and suite enjoy panoramic views over the town and its Gulf.

Opened in 2006, it was one of the first in the quarter and in all of Cagliari to provide a new type of hospitality, which is friendlier, more genuine and authentic when compared to traditional tourist structures.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and furnished in an original way. They are decorated with unique collections of various authors depicting Castello’s and the town’s other landmarks. In the common areas there are authentic pieces of work such as the first modern map of the Island and the Kingdom of Sardinia drawn up by Alberto La Marmora in 1845.

Buffet breakfast is served in a dedicated room. We combine a typical Italian breakfast with the Sardinian tradition by selecting some of the best sweets of our island as well as some savoury dishes to please all tastes. On request we can also provide gluten-free food and food suitable for people with alimentary intolerances.

From our panoramic terrace you can enjoy a breath-taking view over the town, the lagoons and the mountains on Cagliari’s skyline.

In fine weather the terrace is a suntrap and ideal to taste an aperitif admiring wonderful sunsets. And of course in addition to all this, our staff provide guests with loving and caring assistance. Area Castello

Founded by the Pisans in XIII century as an impregnable and fortified fortress, during the history Kastrum Karalis-as reported by documents of the period-occupied the heading role in the civic town.
In every period and domination has always been the seat of the political and temporal power, traces of wich are still plenty and recognizable.
The fortress was surrounded with solid walls and a series of towers and ramparts strategically guarding the access points to the citadel.

The Tower of the Elephant and the Tower of Saint Pancrace together with the Cathedral of Saint Mary are the legacy of the Pisan period to Cagliari.
Afterwards the Aragonese period further enriched the quarter and in this connection cannot be disregarded Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) at the time the residence of Spain viceroys with still houses the offices of the public authority, as well as in the homonymous street the first seat of the University of Cagliari whose institution was resumed and increased under the Piedmontese rule.

In the Ninethenth and early Twentieth centuries th Bastione of Saint Remy terrace with its indoor walk and the Civic Theater were the magnet both for the middle clas and town intelligentia as well as meeting places to exchange ideas.

The presence of the lift is useful for those with heavy luggage. Lovely the small common terrace above the rooftops with a 360° view. We took advantage of the last-minute offer, so the price/offer ratio was particularly interesting. Parquet in the room and marble in the bathrooms.

Host was great. Always available to answer questions and help. I needed to be high on the hill of the old city near the duomo and the location was perfect. It was also quiet and out of the buzz and traffic of the lower city. Continental breakfasts were available at bars just a few steps from the hotel: both had indoor and outdoor tables with wonderful views of the old city. The service was friendly and the breakfast perfect for my needs and tastes. But for those looking for more than a continental breakfast, keep this in mind.

I couldn't get the wifi in my room (had to go to the hallway). Breakfast to be taken outside and too simple (just a coffee and a croissant). I had to pay for an orange juice or a second croissant.

Great address and well located to easily visit Cagliari on foot. The room is spacious and the terrace is fantastic. The little attentions of coffee, tea, sweets, and bottles of water in the room are truly a plus. We received all the information to retrieve the keys and access the room independently.

We stayed twice at Residenza Kastrum in September and October 2020. It was really easy to communicate with Michele also in advance as we wanted to confirm a few things before booking. He was really friendly. The room and bathroom were spacious. Everything was clean, etc. It was a nice bonus that there was a rooftop terrace where we could smoke and enjoy nice views of the city. The location was really good as well. Because of covid-19, we received a breakfast voucher for the cafeteria next to the cathedral.

Very central location, very clean and with a breathtaking view of Cagliari. The manager was very kind and uniquely available. Only breakfast (not attributable to the structure) could be improved, as due to Covid reasons it was not served on site but a voucher is provided for a nearby bar with room for improvement in service. Otherwise, a perfect score of 10.

The short stay was very pleasant. I found an impeccable structure for cleanliness and an aesthetically perfect environment. Excellent renovation, well blended the antique and the practicality of the modern. The view from the terrace over the rooftops is fascinating. The only small flaw: breakfast. I suggest local products that surely are not lacking. Starting the day with good pecorino and local ham would be the best. I will do my best to return as soon as possible to enjoy again the splendid location and beautiful Cagliari.

Le -: la personne chargée de nous accueillir nous demande la veille vers quelle heure on pense arriver, nous disons entre 18 et 19h, et effectivement nous arrivons à 18h30. dommage, cette personne n'est pas présente et une fois que nous l'avons contacté, elle nous dit qu'elle arrive au plus vite. ça peut arriver mais fatigués après une bonne journée de tourisme, devoir attendre avec les bagages au pied de l'immeuble dans une rue étroite, c'est dommage les +: en dehors de ça, tout est très bien, clair que ça soit le fonctionnement des locaux, les explications de choses à voir dans le quartier ou se restaurer.. la veille, on nous donne des explications claires et précises sur comment rejoindre la structure à pied car se trouvant dans le coeur du quartier du castello, on ne peut y aller en voiture, mais on peut la poser sur un boulevard gratuitement entre 5 et 10 min belle et grande chambre spacieuse petit déjeuner complet et très satisfaisant en qualité/quantité le vrai + de cet établissement, le petit déjeuner prenable en terrasse sur les toits avec vue sur la cathédrale, la mer, la ville..ainsi que son emplacement au coeur du castello qui autorise ainsi toutes sortes de visites.

Kastrum è un luogo splendido. La struttura si trova in una posizione incredibile, sul bordo di Piazza Palazzo, in un edificio storico restaurato con cura e gusto. Il gestore gentilissimo e disponibile. Una sola pecca: la colazione. Se si escludono i dolci fatti in casa, il resto dell'offerta è appena sufficiente e stona con il tenore della struttura. Credo che se anche si dovessero rivedere leggermente al rialzo le tariffe, l'immagine complessiva ne guadagnerebbe notevolmente.

La struttura è deliziosa, arredata con molto gusto e il gestore Michele è gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo soggiornato un solo giorno ma ci saremmo rimasti volentieri di più, certamente ci ritorneremo.

Très beau B&B en plein cœur de Cagliari. La vue depuis la terrasse est magnifique tout comme l'ensemble du bâtiment. Michele est un hôte très attentionné qui nous a accueilli avec gentillesse et bienveillance. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et la propreté irréprochable! A ne pas manquer à Cagliari!

Abbiamo soggiornato 2 giorni presso questa struttura molto elegante e confortevole sotto ogni aspetto. Siamo stati accolti con molta cortesia e disponibilità. Colazione ottima con prodotti freschi; camera spaziosa e pulita; bellissima vista sul centro storico e sul porto dal terrazzino sui tetti. In pieno centro e facilmente raggiungibile dal parcheggio a pagamento (6 € al giorno). Wifi funzionante. Consigliatissimo!

This is the best hotel/guesthouse we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Yes we have stayed in 'fancier'/more grand thus expensive places, but euro for euro this is the best place we have ever stayed. Treat your self to the suite if you can...

Ottima struttura in posizione eccellente. Il proprietario gentile e disponibile. Buona colazione, con la possibilità di gustarla su piccola terrazza con una splendida vista. Pulita e tranquilla. Assolutamente da consigliare.
