Description
The guesthouse (formerly Bed&Breakfast) "L'umbra di lu soli" is located in the north of Sardinia, in Castelsardo, an ancient medieval village by the sea, 50 km away from Alghero airport and 30 km away from Porto Torres port.
The recently built structure is located on the top floor of an elegant building in the center of the town, with very quiet rooms overlooking a large internal garden.
The structure also has two large verandas: one with a view of the countryside and the other, covered, with a view of the medieval castle and the sea.
The double rooms, and if necessary also single rooms, are equipped with:
- en-suite bathroom (3) with shower, and one with a dedicated service with a shower in the hallway;
- air conditioning;
- television
- wardrobes, benches, dressers, bedside tables, etc.
Breakfast (due to Covid emergency) is not included. However, guests are provided with all the necessary appliances and products for a self-service Italian breakfast (coffee, milk, tea, fruit juices, water, packaged products, etc.) which can be consumed in the common space of the kitchen/living room equipped with a fireplace and large panoramic windows, or on the verandas surrounding the B&B.

The accommodation is very well located, central, with a very good price. The terrace has a wonderful view of the castle with beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is very well equipped and you can make use of it. The rooms have air conditioning and are very clean. The hosts Giuseppe and Giuseppina are very attentive and willing to help you. I would recommend this accommodation! Oh! And the beaches are very close.

L'Umbra di lu Soli is a quiet, clean, well-furnished place full of the kindness of the owners and their collaborator who make you feel at home. It is located a few steps from the center of Castelsardo, a charming town full of life. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, just like in the photos, and in the room you can enjoy the coolness of the air conditioner after a hot day at the beach. The only difficulty is finding parking in the area, but with a bit of patience and a few turns in the surrounding streets, you can find it. We thank Giuseppe, his wife, and Rina for the welcome, kindness, and discretion. You made our stay wonderful!

Very helpful and recommendable manager, comfortable rooms, breathtaking view. If I have to find a sore point, I would have preferred each room to have a mini fridge. Although there has always been maximum availability on the part of the manager to let me use the shared area fridge.

The family was very friendly and hospitable. During breakfast, we learned a lot about Sardinia or Italy from the hosts or other guests. Castelsardo is a beautiful village with many things to see. All the people on the streets or at the food markets were also very friendly, which we did not experience in other cities in Sardinia. To wrap things up, on our last day there was a big carnival that only happens once a year (end of July). The family told us about it and offered us the room for another night. 10/10, we want to come back ASAP.
