Description

L'Orso e Il Mare is 100 meters from the seafront and 100 meters from the port, where ferries depart every 15 minutes for the island of La Maddalena. It's 150 meters from Palau Vecchio beach, and 200 meters from Faro beach. We're in the historic center, on a pedestrian-only street.

We do not have free parking in the streets near L'Orso e il Mare. If parking near the property is more important to you than the quality of the property, please do not book our property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked.

At any time of day, you can arrive in front of the Orso e il Mare to load and unload luggage.

Welcome gifts that all our guests find in each room: coffee machine with three coffees a day, three types of biscuits, tea, herbal teas, chamomile, fresh fruit, beer, Schweppes and still water.

The Bear & The Sea is The Bed & Breakfast closest to the sea, the beach, the commercial port, the marina, to stop the Bus, Tourist Office, at the terminus of the Green Train tour, the entire town of Palau, built in 2007 and operational from April 2008, is the rare B & B new building, situated in the centre of Palau, tourist resort located in northeast Sardinia. It is 200 meters from the seafront, and 100 metres from the port, starting point (every 15 minutes) ferry to the island of La Maddalena. The main beaches are approximately 300 metres.
A 4 km is the famous Rocky dell'Orso, a symbol of the town, declared a national monument in 1993.
At about 6 km is The Island of Seagulls, the most area of Sardinia for all lovers of windsurfing.
Distance 2 km, not to be missed, and the resort of Porto Raphael, sandwiched in a beautiful landscape with its splendid square directly overlooking the beach and the particular tiny church that hosts only 4-5 people. Also in the area, worth a visit the military fortress of Monte Offshore. Porto Cervo is 30 km, about 42 km Olbia

Buongiorno Giovanni. Siamo in centro storico, in zona ZTL, a 20 metri dalla via principale della cittadina, 150 metri dal mare e 150 metri dal porto, ma la posizione della nostra struttura si è meritata solamente un voto 8. Pensavamo che la posizione dell'Orso e il Mare fosse uno dei nostri fiori all'occhiello. Ma non tutti, evidentemente la pensano così. Grazie comunque della recensione.

This place was a home away from home with every convenience you could hope for! Many treats were included and it was very handy for the centre. The room was a great size with room to put out two suitcases.

The stay at this bed and breakfast was simply perfect! The host, Pietro, was extremely kind, helpful and attentive to every need, ready to provide useful advice and make the stay as pleasant as possible. The room was spotless, cared for down to the smallest details and very well equipped: truly comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was a real treat: abundant, varied and of excellent quality, with fresh products, bakery croissants and homemade cakes. The location is perfect: in the city center, a short walk from the marina where ferries depart for La Maddalena and also very convenient for reaching the area's beautiful beaches. Highly recommended, we will definitely return!

The cleanest hotel we ever stayed in our life. It is absolutely mind blowing how Pietro keeps this place so nice and clean. Location is perfect, easy to get in and out, a few steps to the central parking lot and from the ferry to Madalegna. Many good restaurants, shops, and close enough by car to many of the gorgeous beaches in Costa Esmeralda. Pietro was 100% in everything. Top service, super friendly, complementary water, soda, beer, fruits and excellent breakfast with pastries from the bakery next door.

Pietro is a perfectionist - this is reflected in the entire living area. High quality furnishings, focusing on every smallest detail, perfect cleanliness and very good and plentiful breakfast. If Pietro had made an effort to also make a bit of small talk in a language other than Italian (e.g. English or German) or a friendly smile now and then, our overall rating would have been perfect. One downside is the parking - as the B&B is very central, and most parking spaces are reserved for residents, sometimes you have to circle around to find a parking spot.

Very well-maintained property just a step away from the center and the port. Extremely clean rooms with a new 43-inch HD TV (in my room), fridge, air conditioning, Wifi, safe, coffee or tea machine. The owner, Mr. Pietro, a very kind person who makes you feel at home, pampers the customer with a thousand attentions. Finding water, drinks, and fresh fruit in the room as a gift was much appreciated. I will definitely return.

We really enjoyed this Bed & Breakfast, which is a first for us. It is a friendly, clean, and warm place. For breakfast, they served us both savory and sweet foods, we could even take a packed lunch for noon. The only small downside is the language barrier, unfortunately we do not speak Italian and the hosts do not speak French or English. I recommend this B&B.

Secluded property but well located, close to the ferry to the Maddalena Island. There was work being done at the entrance of the B&B but it was no problem to get in and out. There are stairs but my husband and I just had carry-ons. The room had an extra bed not used by us, a fridge, a spacious closet, a net against mosquitoes, but we kept the door closed to use the air conditioner. Bathroom with good natural light. Generous breakfast but we couldn't eat much because of traveling. The owner offered to take away. We enjoyed the stay and will reserve it again, when we return to the Maddalena Islands. Thank you.

L'Orso e il Mare is a superbly run, charming B&B in a beautiful location in a stunning area of the coast. The owner, Pietro, was exceptional. On arrival we were provided with an excellent orientation to the town and local sites. The map provided was hand annotated with notes re places to visit, where to make bookings for day tours, suggested restaurants etc. Breakfast was delicious and varied with great coffee. We were encouraged to make up bread rolls with any leftovers to take with us for lunch. A great idea! The full sized fridge in the room and tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome. The B&B is in an excellent location in Palau. It is only minutes from: the port with ferries to La Maddalena and the Archipelago, beaches, the main shopping street, restaurants and the local night markets. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this delightful accommodation.

What a fantastic Bed and Breakfast and what a wonderful host Mr. Pietro is: the structure is meticulously cared for in every detail, from the decorations on the furniture, to the very original paintings, to the richness of the sweet and savory breakfast with cappuccino, fresh fruit salad, cold cuts and cheeses, yogurt, croissants and fresh bread and surprise of surprises: Pietro tells us to take everything we have left from breakfast. Never happened in any other Bed and Breakfast. He provided us with a personalized map of Palau with recommended restaurants that we tried and were satisfied with. The room was large, well furnished, with fruit, kettle, tea bags and herbal teas and a bottle of water all for us. The bathroom with two sinks and a large and comfortable shower with hydromassage! What can I say: everything perfect and at a truly great price. Thanks again to Pietro for his kindness, availability and elegance of appearance and manners. We will definitely be back! Highly highly recommended.

The best and kind hotel manager. The property is super clean and makes you feel just like you are at home away from home. Very close to all the restaurants and the marina of Palau so you can take a ferry to La Maddalena if you wish. Breakfast is more than enough and quite abundant and satisfying that there were always leftovers that the manager always encouraged to take with us during the day, which was so kind. He even gave us a souvenir on our last day, will definitely stay again.

Mr. Pietro manages discreetly without oppressing but being attentive and ready to the smallest details. Parking in front of the entrance. Nothing to complain about this B&B, everything was perfect! Thanks to Pietro for his welcome, the room was very clean, Pietro had arranged for us a guide to Palau in French, a city map, he showed us where to eat. The breakfast was fabulous, a divine hot chocolate! Everything was really very good and in more than enough quantity! You can take away what's left (small bags provided to facilitate transport) of fruit, yogurt, charcuterie, cheese, bread, croissant, biscuits, orange juice, fruit salad! We recommend this B&B without hesitation! Really the best we could do.

The owner is very kind and helpful. He treated us very well. Upon arrival, he offered us some drinks. He immediately gave us information about the area. We asked him for a beach umbrella, and he lent it to us. The room was very cozy, spacious, and had everything we needed. The room has the amenities of a 5-star hotel, it is spacious with the comfort of being in your own home. If I went back, I would repeat the experience.
