Ploaghe is a small town on the hills located in the north west of Sardinia where in the summer you can enjoy the coolness and tranquility.
In order not to get bored, various village festivals are organized and this is an excellent opportunity to experience the real Sardinia.
It is an excellent starting point for excursions to the sea, the splendid beaches of Alghero, Stintino, Platamona, Badesi, Valledoria, Castelsardo, which within the island the Pisan Romanesque churches (the most famous is that of Saccargia) or the nuraghe di Santu Antine, are some examples.
The Sa Chessa bed and breakfast is located in the center of the town in a quiet location and there are 2 double rooms and 1 family suite with two completely separate rooms available to guests. All rooms have a private bathroom, are bright and colorful, carefully furnished with air conditioning, TV and hair dryer and wi-fi.
A shared fridge is available to all.

Ploaghe is a beautiful village located in a central area of northern Sardinia, very well connected to the highway that connects Olbia to Sassari and Cagliari.
The town was the archiepiscopal seat from 1090 to 1530 and preserves the beautiful church of San Pietro and the churches of Santa Croce and Rosario as well as the small historic cemetery that collects tombstones with inscriptions in Logudorese Sardinian. Inside the church of Rosario is housed the ancient art gallery with beautiful paintings by Sardinian artists. Also in the square is the Rector's Palace and the belvedere from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding valley.
In Ploaghe there are several bars, some restaurants and pizzerias. The post office with ATM and a bank always with ATM, pharmacy flower and clothing shops. The market is held on Saturday mornings.
In the village there are two other very important churches, one is the convent complex of Saint Antonio of Padova from the 1600s and the church of Cristo Re built in 1960 with modern architecture.
Furthermore in Ploaghe there is a very important medical rehabilitation center dedicated to St. John the Baptist where patients arriving from all over the region are hospitalized.
Alghero airport is 40 km away. Olbia airport is 100 km away. The port of Porto Torres is about 35 km and the port of Olbia 100 km.
The village is also reached by train and the stop is Ploaghe.
It is also connected to Sassari by a daily bus service.

Charming property. Franca and Marina were lovely and so helpful. The room was spotless and very quiet. The breakfasts were amazing. A real opportunity to escape city bustle and enjoy some Sardinian hospitality. Franca offers traditional treats and a local Trattoria offers traditional meals. Nice country walks to enjoy. Most highly recommended.

It was truly a wonderful experience. We felt at home, welcomed with so much affection and warmth. Franca and Marina were a true gift, they made us feel special and gave us great advice on places to visit in the surroundings. The breakfast, besides being delicious, became a very nice moment of the day, prepared with a lot of love. The house is very beautiful and comfortable, taken care of in every detail. The best memory of Sardinia. The owner, with her daughter who speaks French, is very kind. Lovely and dedicated people. The room is very clean, hearty breakfast, homemade pastries with love. Possibility to have cold cuts for breakfast. The owner gave us a plant to replant at home, we will think of her when it grows. A bit of Sardinia in France. Thank you again for these 2 days spent in your house.
