Description

The Pedra Rubia Bed & Breakfast is very close to the sea. It is located in one of the most picturesque parts of Nebida, a village on the outskirts of Iglesias, on the south-west coast of Sardinia.

Staying indoors when the landscape outside is so spectacular is almost blasphemy.

All the same, we have made sure that our rooms offer our guests every comfort and make the experience of resting and getting up in the morning as pleasant as possible.

In the both the red and yellow rooms, you will be greeted every morning by the Pan di Zucchero, the sea-stack that looms off the Nebida coast and can be seen from our windows and balconies.

The breakfast at the B&B Pedra Rubia offers products for mainly local. Yogurt, butter, milk, fresh bread, fresh fruit, jams, honey, typical sweets, pies and cakes, cheese all from Sardinia and, when possible, just by the producers of the neighboring villages.

In addition to these local products, we offer breakfast cereals, toasted bread, fruit juices of various flavors, coffee, quality tea and tasty biscuits.

Pedra Rubia B&B is the brainchild of Marco and Tiziana, and is inspired by the beauty of this part of Sardinia – a true treasure trove for anyone who loves outdoor sports and nature at its wildest, not to mention the stunning coastline and Mediterranean waters.

What motivates us is our desire to welcome visitors to this less-well-known part of the island and help them get to know this unspoilt setting, its unassuming inhabitants and its natural treasures, as well as our passion for the great outdoors. Our goal is to promote the Sulcis Iglesiente, encouraging an alternative form of tourism.

In addition to our Bed & Breakfast, in fact, we are the founders of the Pedra Rubia Sports Association (www. pedrarubia. com), which focuses on outdoor sports, and we are the creators of the rock-climbing website www. arrampicatasardegna. com which is dedicated to exploring what Sardinia has to offer in terms of free climbing.

We offer various services through the sports association: guided mountain biking and trekking, and support for rock climbers. You will find all the information you need in the Active Holidays section of our site.

We try to run our bed and breakfast in a way that respects the environment around us. Hot water is produced by solar thermal panels (after all, there’s no shortage of sunshine) and all the lights are energy efficient. Our electrical appliances have also been chosen on the basis of low energy consumption. We provide a transfer service to train stations and the airport, to encourage our guests to use public transport.

We also offer bike hire, not least to provide a degree of autonomy for shorter journeys.

Why ‘Pedra Rubia’?
Pan-di-zucchero-sunsetOur name and our philosophy are inseparable. ‘Pedra Rubia’ means ‘red stone’ in the local dialect. Stone is a poor man’s material, generally, and is often thought worthless, but here in Sardinia, it has long held a key role. You just need to look at those symbols of Sardinia, the Nuraghe, or at the bare rock that abounds all over the island. For us, as climbers, stone is both fascinating and valuable, and this is all the more true here in the Sulcis Iglesiente given how good the local rock is for climbing.

And the rocks here are ruby-red, or ‘rubia’, like the Pan di Zucchero sea stack that we see tinted red in the setting sun every evening from the windows and balconies of our B&B.

A paradise to be enjoyed. Breathtaking view of Sugar Loaf and the village of Nebida, abundant breakfast with fresh food, jams, and cakes prepared by Tiziana with so much love. The structure is new and well furnished. The B&B Pedra Rubia is a magical place, conveys peace and well-being, it's almost a pity to leave to visit other places in the wonderful Green Coast. Tiziana is an excellent tour guide and gives many tips on things to see in the area, an excellent hostess. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Apartment equipped with every comfort. A terrace with a breathtaking view of the Pan di Zucchero in the Gulf of Gonnesa. We had a great time and we recommend it without hesitation.

Very nice location for those who like it peaceful. Splendid view. Nice room and a wonderful blanket. One of the best coffees I ever had. Tiziana and Marco are very friendly people. It felt more like being in a kind of home than in a B&B. Best wishes for you two respectively three.

What can I say, spectacular view, breathtaking. Brand new facility with all the comforts. Young and enthusiastic hosts. Breakfast prepared by them at any time, even very early. With all the goodies, even homemade cake and jam. We didn't use them but there are mountain bikes and umbrellas available for guests. Highly recommended. TOP!

Spectacular location overlooking B&B Pedra Rubia, magnificent sunsets on the terrace. Spacious room and large bathroom. Abundant breakfast mainly sweet. Tiziana and Marco, hosts always available to provide information and useful tips to visit the area and eat in excellent restaurants.

Access with dirt road, uphill and with potholes. The bathroom is not in the room. Clearly dedicated to those who do free climbing and hiking, few information for other types of tourists (history, archaeology). Beautiful panorama, excellent cleanliness.

Ideal location for those who love trekking in the mountains just outside the door, enjoy the wonderful panorama that opens up in front of your eyes "Pan di Zucchero" and visit one of the most beautiful coasts of western Sardinia.

A wonderful place, the view is beautiful from the room, quiet for sleeping until late, very convenient location for touring, climbing, and going to the sea. Tiziana is truly helpful and welcoming. We will come back soon.

I am happy to review the B&B Pedra Rubia very positively because it truly deserves it. The location of the property, the kindness, and availability of Tiziana are truly noteworthy, as well as her tendency to create a "group" among the guests. In fact, as a sign placed on the kitchen table says, "here you enter as guests and leave as friends".
