Aba Maya includes 2 accommodations:
* Aba Maya 1 is located in the city center 300 meters from the historic center, in Via Nazioni Unite 12.
It offers rooms with private bathroom, some have a veranda, others overlook the main street.
* Aba Maya 2 is located 600m from the historic center, in Via Togliatti 15.
It offers rooms with private bathroom, one has a balcony. It has a common kitchen use with the other rooms, each room has its own kit for cooking (cutlery, crockery, pans, etc.)
In both Accommodations, all rooms there is are air-conditioned, therefore warm in winter and cool in summer.
We offer our guests the Self-check in service with the administration of codes for safe entry into the structure. Self-check in is from 14: 00 onwards without night time limitations, in this way the Late check-in is completely free.
There is no concierge, but Ylenia the owner of Aba Maya is always available to provide information and advice to her guests.
With a small contribution it is possible to use the luggage storage.

Hi, I'm Ylenia, I'm the owner of Aba Maya, since 2010 I have opened the Aba Maya structure, now I'll tell you where my passion for welcoming at home was born:
My great-grandmother Francesca already welcomed travelers from far away into her home, the overnight stays at that time used to last several weeks but even months, so our dear grandmother being a good hostess offered them a comfortable room and besides breakfast he shared with the various travelers both lunch and dinner with the whole family.
The unaware grandmother did not know that she was one of the pioneers of the launch of tourism in Alghero.
In 2004 my mother Franca opened the doors of our house, following the tradition of Nonna Francesca, thus starting a project to welcome travelers to the family who came to discover our city Alghero.
The Big Fish, as the bed and breakfast was called, was one of the very first b & bs here in Alghero.
Thanks to our parents my brother and I We grew up with the genuineness of sharing and conviviality with anyone who chose our home as a place to stay.
Our father Stefano as a good fisherman and an excellent home cook, every day prepared dishes based on fresh fish, and all together sitting around the large round table we exchanged various anecdotes of life and at the same time we enjoyed the excellent gastronomic preparations of father Stefano.
The guests who have lived the Big Fish since its inception have remained loyal over the years, thus cultivating a beautiful relationship of friendship up to the present day.
So in 2010 Aba Maya was born, Big Fish's sister structure.
Today Big Fish is followed in every minimum preparation by Elia and I take care of Aba Maya entirely.
Together we share the passion for hospitality and the discovery of new services to offer to our guests.
Always available for any need of our dear guests, because our hospitality goes beyond a simple "room for rent".
We have many services on the list and a lot of availability in dispensing advice on what to visit here in our city of Alghero and surroundings.

All good. The coffee machine should be changed to a capsule one. The structure is a 10-minute walk from the sea and 15 minutes from the center. Recommended.

For one night, the room is beautiful. It is on the ground floor and clean. Check-in would have been easy without seeing the manager. Unfortunately, we received a code for the room next door from the manager that was not announced as ours. Because of this, we wasted quite a bit of time that we wanted to spend at the beach. Too bad, but it can happen.

The room was super comfortable, clean and super well located in a quiet area. An exquisite bakery just beside. A nice and friendly local café on the same block. The host was super attentive, quick response to any question. We would stay again, definitely! Thanks Aba Maya.

We had a good stay, the owner is very helpful and kind. The room is nice and simple, with air conditioning, located on the second floor of a condominium and about 10/15 minutes walk from the center. There is a shared kitchen with dishes for each room, a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink, which we did not use by our choice. The room is not noisy, of course you can hear small noises from the other rooms like closing doors, but not annoying. Overall, I would recommend it.

Clean and well-maintained environment, very organized. The bathroom is very chic, although the sink is very small. We stayed at the accommodation 'Aba Maya Alghero', but we never saw anyone upon arrival or departure. The reviews mention a breakfast that is actually non-existent; we asked for an explanation and it seems they are outdated. It is an apartment where three bedrooms, a storage room, and a common area with a tiny refrigerator and no tables have been created, but with a camera monitoring the common area with audio. Upon arrival, we waited three quarters of an hour before receiving the access code, and the lady was unreachable; she later apologized explaining the situation. We found out that it was a family-run building and we asked to be notified, the lady then contacted us again after almost an hour. The fridge is too small for the three rooms, there is no wardrobe but only an exposed hanging rack, there is no mirror in the room and only a small one in the bathroom, without plugs like the bidet. Bed pillows are one per person and very soft, as well as the poor quality mattress; you can feel the springs on your back. If you are on foot, the property will be about 15 minutes walk from the center and the most popular beaches, such as Maria Pia, even further; you will need to use buses.

La ringrazio signor Luciano per aver scritto un suo commento in merito alla sua versione del soggiorno. Mi dispiace non averla conosciuta, alle 9 di ogni mattina sono sempre in struttura, non ci siamo visti semplicemente perché abbiamo orari diversi, le ricordo che non abbiamo reception. In merito alla colazione c'è scritto a chiare lettere che non offriamo la colazione di fatti non è inclusa nel prezzo è che lei NON ha pagato, le recensioni che lei ha riportato non riguardano questo portale ma siete andati a pescarle in altri portali online vecchi di 6 anni. Pertanto non è una cosa attendibile ciò che ha scritto, come se stesse intendendo che non vi ho voluto offrire la colazione. In merito all'attesa si è trattato di 20minuti, non di un ora in quanto come le ho spiegato ho avuto un imprevisto ed il cellulare non era la mia priorità in quel momento, sa anche io ho una vita privata e sono Umana proprio come lei. Ma dopo 20minuti ha avuto le sue chiavi di accesso ed è comodamente entrato in struttura, allarmando tutto il palazzo chiedendo se io Esistessi. La ringrazio per la fiducia. Se ha trovato tutto scomodo mi dispiace in 7 giorni mai una critica, sa abbiamo anche altri cuscini, come ha avuto modo do telefonarmi per altre cose poteva chiedere un cuscino di diverso spessore l'avrei accontentata di sicuro. Rimango sempre in attesa della tassa di soggiorno che lei non ha pagato, e la ringrazio tantissimo per aver lasciato una collezione di chewing gum attaccate sulla testata del letto in legno. Alghero is the Sardinian city I have visited most often in my life. It is the one that would please me in the summer, if I could live there. The city is beautiful, the people are smiling, it really feels like being on vacation, even just for a day like it happened to me. And the structure where I stayed was just as I was looking for. Comfortable, close to the center, clean, and air-conditioned (with the heat of these days otherwise I would not have survived to write the review). I particularly appreciated both the kindness of the landlady whom next time (there will be) I would like to meet in person, and the system to access our room. A nine and a half on average, partly because this way the review is more credible and also because I struggled strenuously with the mattress to sleep, managing only partially. However, I want to say that the problem is probably mine, since my wife slept peacefully without any problems. I have the feeling, almost certainty, that I will see Alghero and Aba Maya again very soon. Thank you for everything.

We stayed 4 nights in July. We were a bit surprised about the location. 15-20 minutes walk from the old town and no buses. The area is residential and no restaurants except take-away pizza. The bed is not so comfortable but it has good A/C. Overall rating 2 out of 5 stars.

I stayed in the second week of September and for the smile and kindness of Host Ylenia made me feel the beginning of summer sun. Great location, with a 10-minute walk you are in the center, below the structure there is a bakery where I recommend stopping for a croissant and a coffee (more than a coffee an experience for your taste buds) what to say 10+ because I felt at home, away from home.

Room near the city center, reachable very quickly by car but also with a walk. The structure is not new but has code entrances so very safe. The room we booked was small but had everything we needed and at a fair price. For a short stay, it's ideal. The manager, whom we only heard from by message, was helpful, punctual, and gave us advice for the visit.

The smile of Mrs. Ylenia reflects the structure! Very close to the historic center and very silent from urban noises! To recommend to all those who will want to stay in Alghero.

Signor luigi devo dire che la sua recensione mi lascia basita, dopo un ora di chiacchierata con lei e i suoi squisiti amici non mi è stata sollevata alcuna critica o disappunto da parte sua. I suoi punteggi sembrano siano stati assegnati ad un'appartamento diroccato e trascurato, mentre invece ha avuto come tutti, una camera super accessoriata e curata nel dettaglio. A fine giugno ha pagato una camera con bagno privato interno 45euro a notte e mi ha scritto che potevo "darle di piu": a cosa si riferisce? Più di cosa e rispetto a cosa? La posizione è 300mt dal centro storico molto apprezzata dai miei ospiti, infatti la sua recensione non ha niente di sincero perché stona con tutte le recensioni espresse dai miei ospiti in oltre 15anni di attività portata avanti sempre a testa alta e con tanta passione e dedizione in ciò che faccio, sa perché? Perché credo fortemente in ciò che costruisco giorno per giorno dall'età di 16anni ho avuto la fortuna di avere una grande famiglia che mi ha fatto conoscere ed amare l'accoglienza in casa, è ora che ho 34anni posso dire di essere fiera di me stessa che ho scelto la strada giusta da percorrere: accogliere i viaggiatori di tutto il mondo e cogliere da ciascuno di loro tanti insegnamenti che mi aiutano a crescere e formarmi giorno dopo giorno. Ecco, da lei ho imparato che l'apparenza inganna. E se ha espressamente scritto che " non ci ritornerà di sicuro" mi dispiace ma la cosa è reciproca non sono aperte le porte della mia umile struttura per lei, perché amo avere riscontri con persone differenti dalle sue critiche distruttive. Probabilmente non troverà mai un alloggio che faccia al caso suo, in tutto il pianeta. Accoglierò a braccia aperte sicuramente in futuro i suoi cari amici, specialmente il Signor Pasquale il quale mi ha trasmetto davvero tanta energia positiva.

I arrived in Alghero without any plans and just wanted to spend 2 nights in the local Hostel. Upon finding out that it was closed for the winter and looking for something new, Ylenia provided me with a new accommodation within minutes. Her B&B is located in a quiet local neighborhood with a bakery and a coffee bar right next door. It was just a quick 5-minute walk from the old town and all other necessities, such as the post office, supermarket, or bus station. The property and room were well taken care of and clean, and there was also free coffee provided. In the end, as I was enjoying my 2-day stay in Aba Maya and Alghero, I ended up extending for another 3 nights. If I ever find myself in Alghero again, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

The structure where we stayed is really nice. Very convenient because in a quiet area and it is only a 10-minute walk from the center. Ylenia is very kind. Excellent value for money. Recommended!
