Description

In this historic house, summer residence of General Giovanni Durando, our Customers will find a warm ambience full of history and the perfect place to spend their stay in total safety, with the surrounding area offering lots to discover. There are six Classic Rooms. Also there are two splendid appartments. One appartment with a lobby, a living room and a complete Kitchen, a bathroom with washing machine, a double room, plus two rooms with lofts and balconies that open to a wonderful view of the historic side of Mondovì. The second appartment with a lobby, living room, complete kitchen and a bathroom with a washing machine, alongside a double room and one room with two separete beds; in the lobby there is a sofa bed for two. The building features a breakfast room, with typical Piedmont products, and a games room complete with TV where it's possible to enjoy renowned Piedmont wines. It also has a gym with a Turkish bath and showers. Free WIFI is also available.

This structure is the outcome of 15 years of work by the manager Giaccone Angelo, who, with his passion for history and historic houses, sought to revive this villa, which was in a sorry state. Coming from a completely different sector (management of shipyard production), he tried to bring all his experience to light all the internal and external beauties of this ancient residence, making every room as welcoming and warm as possible. After these 15 years of sacrifices, finally in July 2016, the Giaccone family decided to embark on this new path, aiming to make their guests' stay as enjoyable as possible.

Excellent structure restored excellently. Interesting the history of the building and of those who have lived there over time. The rooms are large and tastefully furnished, completing everything a large bathroom with a big shower. Excellent international style breakfast with homemade cakes and excellent cheeses. All this is enclosed in the smile and exquisite kindness of the owner of the structure, who with his sympathy and education gives you his love for the history of the building and transmits the joy in doing his job. Structure that I recommend very gladly, even just for a weekend.

Very good stay in a quiet area with splendid landscapes. A rich breakfast of great finesse prepared in the morning, cakes, donuts, omelette, fresh fruit pies, refined cheeses..Attention to note: the pool is paid.

We stayed two nights at Villa Durando, with two children aged 9 and 4. Very welcoming atmosphere, a historic villa beautifully restored by Mr. Angelo. Great attention to detail that makes you relive past eras, while not depriving yourself of modern comforts. Excellent value for money, as well as the welcome and service provided by Mr. Angelo and his wife. Rich and varied homemade breakfast. Great availability and patience with children.

Thank you for the nice welcome, despite the short stay it was pleasant to wake up in the nature and have the center of Mondovì a few minutes away by car, abundant and genuine breakfast.

Excellent welcome, fantastic location immersed in the Piedmont hills; the historic structure makes the stay fascinating and very elegant, the rooms are warm and welcoming and above all spotless, very well-kept from an aesthetic point of view and offer a breathtaking view of the fantastic external landscape. The service is excellent, the owners are very friendly and available for any request, also offering advice on characteristic places in the area that cannot be missed, they also offer a breakfast entirely prepared by them very abundant both savory and sweet to meet the needs of all diners. Personally, I felt at home, I was also able to do physical activity (which is fundamental for me) thanks to the small gym offered to customers and I will definitely return soon to stay here again and go skiing.
