Breakfast
Bread: only small rustic loaves from a nearby artisan bakery.
Jams: never less than 3, with visible and tasty pieces of fruit. Some are very traditional (apricots, cherries, strawberries), while others are somewhat unusual (rennet apples, pears and cinnamon, plums and vanilla, peaches and raspberries), depending on what the previous season has given us.
Fruit juices: in addition to the more common ones, we offer 2 made from ancient apple varieties grown by a nearby farmhouse: Fior di Melo and Kimel (an unusual combination of apples and kiwi).
Coffee: no bar-style espresso, only the coffee maker at home.
Tea: we are true connoisseurs of this beverage, especially of green tea. We offer at least 15 different types (green, classic black, flavored black, white).. it is difficult for us to serve it with milk or lemon, but we are willing to "turn a blind eye" for our guests.
Sweets: they are a "surprise".. but not before asking if you have any food intolerances or allergies. Our morning alarm is set according to the baking time of the muffins, cake, and biscuits that you will find on the table, and whose aroma you will smell as soon as you open the door of your room!
Hey from Giorgia
Conditions
Area hills
Our territory is still waiting to be discovered...making it even more intriguing!
We're close to the big city, Turin, but far enough away not to be affected by its traffic and noise: we can reach the historic center in 40 minutes, either via the motorway or alternative routes.
The mountains? We have them. Arranged in a crown around us, in just over half an hour you can reach those of the Gran Paradiso Park, but also those of the wild and unspoiled Valchiusella (want to go further? Perfect, we are just over an hour from Gressoney St. Jean, at the foot of Monte Rosa, or from Torgnon, at the foot of the Matterhorn).
The hills? We have them, in fact, we are even lying on top of them. A continuous chain of wooded hills, dotted with small villages, a geological masterpiece of the ancient Balteo glacier, which, descending from Mont Blanc, has left its mark in this corner of Piedmont: an ideal environment for road bike enthusiasts, with its "ups and downs", but also for mountain bikers, with many signposted trails.
The lakes? We have them. Small blue pearls set in the surrounding greenery, Lake Candia, a provincial park, is just 5 minutes away from us and a walk along its banks opens a window onto the fauna that finds refuge there; Lake Viverone, a UNESCO protected site, offers the opportunity for a boat ride to the shore where a Bronze Age pile-dwelling village was found; the 5 lakes of Ivrea, included in the eponymous park, are like the pearls of a necklace: around each one there are easy nature walks; Lake Ceresole, at an altitude of 1700 meters, offers breathtaking views of the high mountains.
So much nature ready to welcome all lovers of outdoor sports that can be practiced from March to October: trekking and Nordic walking on mountain and hill trails, canoeing on Lake Candia, windsurfing and sailing on Lake Ceresole, sailing on Lake Viverone, slalom canoeing on the Dora Baltea in Ivrea, paragliding from Monte Cavallaria, rock climbing in the Montestrutto climbing gym.
And then...castles, churches, historical relics, and food and wine traditions, among which, for wine lovers, the white Erbaluce DOCG and the red Carema DOC stand out.
