Description
In Lesa, on the hills overlooking Lake Maggiore, stands La Torretta Studios & Suite; it was built in 1542 and was once a watchtower with a dovecote. It is said locally that, from this tower someone (perhaps Pietro, the soldier who wrote the fresco on the house wall) observed the wide stretch of the lake to spy on commercial traffic and hence could send messages with pigeons at the nearest customs to collect the duty on the goods.
La Torretta is a corner of paradise, it enjoys an enviable microclimate thanks to the excellent position. Since year 700 the area was a favorite destination for vacationing on the lake, among green hills and orchards.
Today, after renovations and extensions, it has become the home of Sara.
In 2007 the building was completely renovated respecting the original architecture and energy-saving criteria.
From the entire building, immersed in an enchanting atmosphere, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake which is just 2 km away: from the cantilevered terraces the view sweeps both shores of Lake Maggiore and the plain of Lesa below. In the morning you will be awakened by the singing of birds or that of our roosters.
In 2014 B&B La Torretta expanded and two new rooms were built that sum up to the initial one in the dovecote tower. Both the restoration measures and the new building have taken full account of the environmental / ecological and energy saving criteria. Solar panels, heat pumps, insulation, soundproofing and an innovative heating system can reduce emissions to a minimum.
The land of about 5, 000 square meters, exposed to the sun from dawn to dusk is composed of a richly planted terraced garden, crossed by a small stream.
Guests are reserved three large panoramic rooms overlooking the lake, bright and quiet with a large balcony or terrace, separate entrance, each one with a private bathroom with large shower. The two new rooms have an equipped kitchens and air conditioning. In the garden there is a dedicated space for guests only.

Our location is surrounded by remarkable natural beauty and places of great historical and cultural interest. Within an hour's reach from Milan, just over an hour from Turin or Switzerland, we have the following centers of great interest within a 15-minute drive: Stresa and the Borromeo Gulf (with Isola Madre, Isola Bella, and Isola dei Pescatori), Mottarone with its forests, views of the surrounding lakes, and winter ski facilities, and Arona. Given the cost of the stay, we would have expected a daily cleaning (or at least every 2 days) of the accommodation. Also, the access stairs from the street where you park the car have the first steps very uneven and, given the slope, they are also dangerous. The location is truly fabulous and I believe that with some more small improvements, even in the care of the surrounding greenery, higher standards would certainly be reached.

Add that prices are higher in high season. It's written 195€ for 3 nights on the reservation, I paid 225€. The owner explained it to me but it would be good if the prices were up to date on the website.

Fantastic place, with breathtaking view. The owner is very kind! Family-friendly and discreet welcome, the rooms are very beautiful.\n\nOnly tiny flaw the breakfast, which needs to be prepared independently (room equipment) but I would definitely go back!

I thank Sara and Michele for the excellence of their hospitality, the privacy and at the same time the availability. Nothing is left to chance and the breakfast is both homely (cakes) and international (cheeses, speck). And if you want eggs, the hens in the park will provide them. When you look out from the balcony, the spectacle both by day and night leaves you breathless. Silence, peace, and serenity are other special qualities at B&B La Torretta. Thank you Sara and Michele and I will return.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Lesa in a panoramic position (about 2 km from the village, reachable by a scenic road with some hairpin bends). Brand new room (completed in 2014), clean, comfortable, with a small kitchen and a panoramic window overlooking the lake. In the garden, there are also many animals: dogs, chickens, and horses. Beautiful. The view is spectacular and alone worth everything. Kind and helpful owners. In the morning, you get lost admiring the lake.
