Description

Our B&B is located on the most romantic of the Italian lakes: “lago d’Orta”, in the
county of Alzo in the municipality of Pella (on the western side).

The house is only 5 minutes from the lake shore of Pella (the beach, sailing club etc),
15 minutes from Omegna, Borgomanero, Orta Saint Giulio and the Sanctuary of the
Madonna del Sasso, at 30 minutes from the Mottarone and Valsesia.

On the first floor there are two rooms en-suite with private entrance.

You can make your own breakfast in the hall below in front of the fireplace when it
is lit (in winter) or in the small external garden under the gazebo (in summer).

We serve a typical Italian breakfast: handmade cakes and biscuits, bread, butter
and marmalade, yogurt, cereals, fruit juices, milk, coffee, tea and also, upon request,
we do also have ham, cheeses, eggs.

A change of life.

We are Alessandra and Gabriel, both in our foties, that once dreamt and decided to escape from the city and its frenetic life in order to find a place in which peace and nature reigned.

After a laborious search we found this house on Lake Orta which we have fallen in love with.

We have uncovered also a place where it is easier to see to each other, to give a hand and spontaneously smile.

Our choice has been radical, we have left therefore Milan and office jobs in order to completely dedicate ourselves to the restructure this old house, pushed by the desire to create a place welcoming and hospitable.

Our B&B was born from this desire and the wish to know different people and experience a different lifestyle.

Alessandra
Born and raised in Milan, where I attained a degree in Languages. From my passion for the kitchen and desire to know people and different lifestyles, was born the wish of hosting and also tasting my cakes and my biscuits.

Gabriel
Is my companion of life. Argentinean, with a degree in engineering, loves theatre, sailing, nature and… to restructure old houses, succeeding to transform himself at times into a builder, a plumber, hydraulic engineer, electrician, painter…; -).

We are in provincia of Novara (Piemonte) 40 km from aeroporto Malpensa and 90 km from Milano.

As the house is located centrally in a small village, the house is in a silent and calm area but at the same time conveniently situated near the post office, bank, local grocery shop, shops, tobacconist, newspaper stand, pharmacy, hairdresser and a pizzeria. Also at only 100 meters from house it is the Piazza Fiorentini”, the so-called terrace overlooking the lake, from which it is enjoyed a wonderful panoramic view. Buses stop on Piazza Fiorentini which connects Borgomanero, Alzo and Omegna.

Overall, everything went well. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only downside was the bed, perhaps a bit too soft. Maybe it's us who are used to a firmer bed, but here we struggled to sleep. \n\nOn the other hand, we recovered in the morning with an excellent and abundant breakfast in the beautiful common room. This is also thanks to the presence of the manager, Alessandra, who is very pleasant and friendly.

Alessandra is a very friendly and helpful host, who gives us valuable information about the area. The rooms are very nice with a shared bathroom and balcony. Although the B&B is right on Alzo's main street, it's still quiet. A few meters from the house there is a steep path down to the lake. From there it is not far to one of the best ice cream cafes "Antico Torre". The breakfast at "La Corto di Alzo" was very good, you can get everything you want: fresh bread, coffee/tea/milk, yogurt, fresh fruits, home-baked cakes, cream, cheese, jam, eggs, orange juice... we loved it. Alessandra is a very friendly and helpful hostess. We had two simply but very attractively furnished rooms with a shared bathroom and balcony. The B&B is located directly on the main street of Alzo, but it is still quiet. A few meters from the house there is a steep path going down to the lake. From there it is not far to one of the small public beaches. We will definitely come back.

We were delighted to find Alessandra and Gabriel's house near Lake Orta, which we particularly love. Super warm welcome from Alessandra and Gabriel, very cozy rooms in a beautiful old house on a lovely courtyard, we were woken up by the birds in the morning. Fabulous breakfast. Pella is a charming old village. The B&B is two minutes from the boat to San Giulio Island. We highly recommend this B&B. La Corte di Alzo. The icing on the cake: Alessandra speaks perfect French.

My husband and I were guests at the B&B La Corte di Alzo for a weekend. The owners were immediately kind and available to meet every need of ours and provide us with all the useful information to best visit the place. Lake Orta, which we did not know, was a very pleasant discovery, a pearl! Beautiful! Excellent cleanliness and decor of the room. Not to mention the cakes of Mrs. Alessandra, every morning for breakfast my appetite took over. Highly recommended! We will definitely return. You made us feel at home, thank you again.
