Description

Very near to the motorway’s tollbooth of Ivrea you can be accomodated in a little Castle, placed in the beautiful, green Canavese.

The Castle stands on a hill facing the valley of Chiusella stream: the water is very clean and abounding in fish. On the side of the river you can find fossils of millions of years.

After a long and accurate restoration the owners prepared three guest rooms: one suite double named room of Battista, a double room called Flag room and an other double bed one, named Ram’s room, that is a very big suite, ideal for a family or for people who loves big and comfortable rooms.

Our rooms are independent and there are no time restriction.

Who has an artistic spirit will enjoy the environment rich in old furniture, paintings, books
and an old grand piano played by the daughters.

Breakfast are included and are very rich, with sweet and salty food and we prefer to offer typical Canavesian products.

Breakfast at the Castle can be enjoyed during the beautiful season either in the marvelous garden or in a dedicated room. You can choose from a variety of hot beverages such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and milk, in addition to the inevitable Italian espresso. The savory part includes cold cuts and fresh cheeses accompanied by freshly baked bread every morning and sometimes delicious quiches. For the sweet part, you can savor a cake prepared according to ancient recipes, croissants or biscuits, fresh whipped cream, and, if available, seasonal strawberries. Additionally, you will find toast, butter, jam, honey, yogurt, and a selection of fresh fruit. During the winter season, you can order our specialty: pears "martin-sec" cooked in passito wine. Regardless of the season, freshly squeezed orange juice will never be missing. At the time of booking, you will also be invited to indicate your preferences to personalize your breakfast.

The Castle of Strambinello is also the testament of a wonderful dream that has come true, born about thirty years ago when its current owner, an art expert and restorer, purchased it in a state of serious decay with the intention of bringing it back to its ancient splendor.

With tenacity and passion, the owner himself worked on the restoration of the building, tastefully and skillfully taking care of the antique furnishings of the interiors and gradually creating a rich and diverse garden, in harmony with the palace and the surrounding environment.

Today, with the help of his wife, a veterinarian, and their two daughters, who are students, the owner has decided to dedicate a part of the Castle to the Bed and Breakfast activity.

The structure is nothing short of enchanting, both outside and inside. The room (Arieti), with giant dimensions, possesses a rare charm from another time, but at the same time does not lack any comfort, from the necessities for the bathroom, to the mini fridge, to the kettle with herbal teas available (and much more). Charming place managed superbly. The castle is in a panoramic position, renovated to preserve its ancient character and immersed in a well-kept and lush garden. We stayed in the Bandiera suite, charming for its period furnishings and very comfortable. We appreciated the underfloor heating and the large, comfortable shower. Impeccable cleaning of all environments, great attention to detail. The breakfast is of high quality: only products made with quality raw materials, homemade bread, cake and pastries, homemade jams made by the managers. Unforgettable experience, to be repeated.

This B&B is truly wonderful. From the unique opportunity to stay in a castello in a beautiful setting looking over a valley. The facility is full of tradition. Our host Santino is so pleasant and gracious and always happy to ensure our stay is perfect. This was our return visit after our first Italian tour of the Lakes region. This time after a long 4 week tour we decided to just stay and relax in the courtyard on a warm and sunny late September day. The facility is so peaceful and tranquil - what a great way to relax and de-stress. Thank you so much Santino for your hospitality. Hopefully someday we will return once again.

Strambinello is an old castle renovated by the talented and hospitable Santino. I cannot express how much I admired it during the whole stay. The place is very cozy, clean, and authentic. Santino cooks delicious tailor-made breakfasts himself and makes the best coffee I have had in Italy.\n\nStrambinello castle is the one and only place I would like to stay near Turin. Our stay was excellent. Dr. Santino is very friendly, he is always there to recommend us good places to visit. The Castello di Strambinello is like living a fairy tale. The breakfast is delicious (all homemade) with that touch of classical music... it's great! We were a family of 5 people (2 adults and 3 children), the bedding is very comfortable. Wonderful location and property, with a very welcoming and friendly host. The breakfast was fantastic, I don't think it would be possible to have a better breakfast anywhere! I could not fault anything. So many thoughtful touches were included, tea, coffee, biscuits, and cold drinks were available for us. Everything was spotlessly clean. Value for money is outstanding. I would love to visit again.

This is a beautiful spot in an old castle with gorgeous views of the valley. The courtyard is so inviting for a cappuccino or a glass of wine. The rooms are very unique, very clean, with lots of antiques that the owner, Santino, has restored himself.\n\nSantino is friendly, accommodating, and ready to do whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast is one of the best we've encountered. He always has this wonderful typical cheese of the area that I love. The breakfast room is beautiful, with lots to look at.\n\nThere is so much to do in this area, the Gran Paradiso park is very close. Lots of good hiking and skiing in the winter. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. We have been there twice and will go back again. Thank you Santino.

Spacious, warm environments furnished with refined antique pieces. Attention to the smallest detail, impeccable service, and a princely breakfast. The garden, lovingly cared for, is full of ancient roses and overlooks an extraordinary panorama. Magnificent experience. Very beautiful structure, very clean, the owner is very courteous, our room was very spacious, equipped with a small sitting room. Very quiet place surrounded by greenery. The breakfast is very abundant both sweet and savory. Great place. I recommend it.

Even though we only stayed for a day, this castle captivated me with its beauty, the colorful nature surrounding it, the well-kept interior spaces, and the rich vegetation and flowers in the ancient colors outside. I felt like a princess for a day, in a familiar environment, with a queen's breakfast. I was sorry to have to leave; I miss Mia and the whole castle. I absolutely recommend it even for those just passing through.

Imagine visiting a castle, and suddenly being invited to stay the night in the King's suite! That's how it was for us. The bedroom was as big as a flat, with a crystal chandelier. We also had a reception room, a kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. The furnishings were a tasteful mixture of old and the most luxurious modern amenities. Santiago, the owner, is not only the most hospitable and kind host, but an excellent cook, and the breakfasts he prepared were fit for royalty. We spent two nights in Castello Di Strambinello and are already planning our next visit for a much longer stay.

We loved every minute of our stay here. It truly gets 10 out of 10 for everything. We have stayed in many places in Italy during the last three weeks and this is outstanding. You will not get a better welcome anywhere or care. It is for the true appreciator of the arts, restoration and history. The blend of the Medieval and the 21st century is superb.

Truly a first-class B&B that I can highly recommend wholeheartedly. The attention to detail is superb, the setting is wonderful, the host and his family are a delight with nothing too much trouble, the views are beautiful and the entire property has a special ambience seldom found. The castle has been meticulously restored with exquisite taste and care, making it an exceptionally comfortable place to stay. The bedroom was spacious, with a fabulous bathroom and a small kitchenette stocked with lots of interesting goodies for the midnight munchies. Breakfast was colorful, healthy, completely delicious, and beautifully laid out each morning. Santino, the host, makes a very good cup of coffee and bakes beautifully too. I will certainly be returning, and hope you find it as welcoming and stunning as we did on our recent trip to the Aosta/Piedmont region of Italy.

Castello di Strambinello is a very charming castle that internally is restyled in a very tasteful way. All quality criteria are as high as possible. We have only one remark: the direct environment is not the most touristic area of Italy. For a next visit to Italy we will surely revisit the castle.
