Oggebbio and Lake Maggiore

Overlooking the blue waters of Lake Maggiore, Oggebbio is a collection of small historic hamlets spread along the mountain slope, with steep alleys, ancient stone houses, Romanesque churches, and sudden openings onto the lake.
It is a quiet, authentic place, where time seems to slow down and nature is always the main attraction.

In the village there is also a small shop offering fresh bread and milk, excellent local cheeses and cold cuts, fruit, vegetables, and all basic necessities. There is also a welcoming bar and a pizzeria with a wood-fired oven, much appreciated and with a wonderful view of the lake: everything you need for a comfortable holiday, even without a car.

Excursions and nature

Oggebbio is an ideal starting point for exploring some of the most fascinating landscapes in Piedmont and nearby Switzerland.

Near Cadebei there are several easy and pleasant trails, perfect for a relaxed walk: short paths connecting the small hamlets of the area, passing through shaded woods and offering beautiful views of the lake and the village of Gonte. These walks are suitable for everyone, ideal to enjoy the tranquillity of the area just a few steps from home.

Val Grande
A few kilometres away lies the Val Grande National Park, the largest wilderness area in Italy: a realm of silence, deep forests, and panoramic trails.

Val Canobbina
The evocative Val Canobbina is perfect for walks among ancient bridges, mule tracks, and small stone villages.

Swiss valleys
Across the border lie the charming valleys of Canton Ticino, such as the Centovalli and Val Maggia, famous for their picturesque villages, turquoise streams, and natural pools ideal for a summer swim.
