Description

The house dates back to 1726 and the structure is typical of the area, with wide arches and stone balconies.

The garden is spacious with a parking area and a see-saw available to guests. Of particular interest is the main courtyard, paved with cobble-stones and slabs of local granite.

Two outdoors stone tables offer the opportunity to take breakfast in the open, surrounded by birds twittering.

The B&B is composed of bedrooms with private bathrooms, both of a generous size (approx. 24mq), and a breakfast/ relaxing.

The breakfast fare is typical italian; bread, butter, jams, cakes and biscuits, tea and coffee, yogurt and fruit juices.

Our passion for restoring objects and DIY allowed us to create three rooms that reflect the history of our nearly three-hundred-year-old house.

Area hills

The Monte Camosino Bed and Breakfast is located on the hills of Lake Orta in the small village of Egro di Cesara. Egro is a small town with very few inhabitants, there are no shops, pharmacy, post office, and bus stop, which can be found in Cesara, approximately 4km away. It is therefore recommended to have a car or be equipped for excursions.

Surrounded by chestnut and beech forests, it is the ideal destination for nature walks or as a starting point for tourist attractions such as Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Mergozzo, Mottarone, Ossola valleys, Sesia valley, and Monte Rosa.

Our facility can be reached by car from the Gravellona or Borgomanero exits of the A26 in approximately 30 minutes.

We had an absolutely perfect stay with my two boys aged 11 and 15. The setting is of rare tranquility, with a magnificent landscape that truly invites relaxation. Fabia, our host, is very kind and attentive. She is also an exceptional cook: her hearty homemade breakfasts were a real treat every morning. Our family room was very well decorated, with storage and different areas(table/armchairs…): huge, very well designed, with three single beds, a small corridor for storage, and a large, bright, airy bathroom. Everything is spacious and impeccably clean. The common areas are also very pleasant: a room available with a coffee machine, kettle, selection of teas and herbal infusions, microwave, fridge and even some treats to take away. A lovely touch! The children especially loved the games room with the foosball table, which made them very happy after days spent walking around the lake. A place where you feel good, welcomed like family, and one I recommend without hesitation. I will gladly return.

Exceptional is an insufficient definition to describe the stay at this delightful and charming B&B. Mrs. Fabia is a perfect hostess; she leaves nothing to chance and is extremely willing to try to satisfy her guests (obviously within the limits of common sense of the requests), generous with advice when asked. The property is a residence dating back to the 1700s that, thanks to its thick walls, allowed us to enjoy an ideal temperature even during these very hot days. Air conditioning is certainly not needed here!!! The room where we stayed on the ground floor, "the traveler's room", is spacious and very clean, full of details that give a clear character to its name. A bed so comfortable, so comfortable, that you only need to lie down to be welcomed into the arms of Orpheus. Nothing is missing. An ideal place for those seeking relaxation, peace and tranquility. Breakfast was varied, abundant and suitable for every palate with delights prepared by the hostess. We stayed for two nights, but had we had the possibility we would definitely have stayed longer. If there is an opportunity and the property is available, we will certainly come back.

We (couple) stayed eight days at 'B&B Monte Camosino' and had a wonderful time in this lovingly restored and furnished country house from the 18th century, managed by Fabia. The very well-kept accommodation is located in a very quiet place in a beautiful landscape above Lake Orta (which is not directly visible from the house, but after a short hike, you can enjoy a fantastic overall view of the lake. From the house, there is a great view into the wooded mountain world). Fabia is a very nice, helpful, cheerful hostess who can provide many tips and is happy to assist with information (e.g., about trips in the area, ...). She is a great cook and baker. The delicious treats are served to guests at breakfast, which is very varied. And you can look forward to that! To get to Egro, you need a car. In the small village at the end of the 4 km long dead-end road, there is a restaurant where you can eat nicely. There are no shops or similar. We felt very comfortable and could have easily stayed much longer. Perfect for relaxing!

My boyfriend and I chose this place to spend a small vacation in total tranquility. And so it was! The room was very clean and spacious with a wonderful view, the bathroom was large with small cute comfort details. The breakfast was varied and very abundant, the common area was always well served. The structure also has a beautiful terrace where you can spend the evenings watching the landscape. The lady was always very kind, helpful, and nice. We (mother and 2 almost adult children) spent a whole week at 'B&B Monte Camosino' and enjoyed every single day. Fabia is a super nice host, helpful, gives many tips, you can have great conversations with her and she is always in a good mood. She is also a good cook/baker, as you can see from the delicacies on the breakfast table! The historic house is amazing, restored and furnished with great attention to detail, it feels very comfortable. Although the road to Egro is very winding and difficult to reach without a car, I would have preferred to stay there.... ! Perfect location.

Honestly it was heaven. Beautiful outlook over forested hills from a high setting. We thought overlooking the lake would bring a lot of engine noise, so we were happy. Steep walk down through forest to the lakeside was a joy and we could pick up boats from there.

A charming gem in a spectacular location, you take winding roads up the hill to find a warm welcome at the top. Lovely live on site owners, big-hearted service, a large beautifully decorated room, and an excellent breakfast. Fabia is absolutely adorable. Loggia (where the Wi-Fi is), terrace and a small part of the garden are available and offer great places to relax. It is very quiet and the view of the mountains is very nice. Our stay at B&B Monte Camosino was awesome. In the small village high above Lago d'Orta, the hostess Fabia has created a paradise in her 18th century mansion. We were welcomed very friendly and provided with many excursion and restaurant ideas. In the morning we were spoiled with a rich breakfast with products from the region (cheese, bread, meat etc.) and from their own garden (frittata, jams, pastries, etc.). If you like to enjoy the tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the lake, you are in good hands here.

Everything perfect! Historic villa completely renovated while maintaining the old spirit, Mrs. Fabia caring and precise in everything, nothing is missing, not even the stunning panorama. My wife and I enjoyed very much not only the ancient style of our accommodation, just like a little castle with spacious rooms but also the hospitality of our host Fabia. After a while, we didn't feel like guests at Monte Camosino but as her friends. Her breakfast is truly outstanding... every morning! We were sad to leave. Orta lake and Monte Camosino in particular are a really good place to relax.

We stayed at B&B Monte Camosino for the second time and that is because it’s such a nice place to be. Fabia, the owner and host, is very friendly and caring. Breakfast is really great and extensive with homemade cakes, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, you can make a choice yourself what you want to eat. The place is beautiful, quiet, up the hill so you have a great view over the lake when you walk over her property. She can show you where it is. A small refrigerator would be nice in the room or somewhere else down the hall so you can put some drinks etc in it. Because there is no possibility to drink or eat in the immediate area. It is therefore nice when you can put something cool so that you do not have to leave. WiFi is not available in your room but that maybe a releave for some people.

We spent just one night at the B&B Monte Camosino, managed with passion and dedication by Fabia. The structure is secluded, in a very quiet location, with a beautiful view, surrounded by many woods and a lovely orchard. The rooms are located in an ancient building renovated over time by the owners themselves with great care. The room assigned to us was extremely well-kept and truly spacious, as well as the bathroom. Nothing was missing (perhaps the TV, but we didn't miss it), there was even a kettle with a selection of herbal teas and sweets. The breakfast was superb, sweet and savory, with homemade or carefully selected products: it's a pity that due to our commitments we couldn't enjoy it fully. We would love to come back to explore what the area has to offer more leisurely.

For us it was a 10 for everything. Location, hospitality, cleanliness, breakfast, etc. We found the soul and heart of those who manage it in every little thing. We felt at home, welcomed, pampered. Fabia, said to us "You have the sun inside" actually it is she who has the sun inside and if you have the opportunity to live in her rooms you will find it everywhere. Breakfast with every kind of delight, couldn't have been better. The location is great for those who love nature walks, for those who love peace and for the breathtaking view. We highly recommend it.

On the occasion of the pilgrimage from Orta to Varallo (over 20 kilometers on foot), I stayed at the Bed and Breakfast Monte Camosino, where I felt good thanks to the welcome given to me by the owner, with a beautiful room from another era and a breakfast that I still have the taste in my mouth. It's comforting to think that there are still people like you, there will be no lack of opportunity to return.

The village where the structure is located is at the end of a convenient road that climbs up to the top of the hill overlooking the lake. The property is large, with an orchard, a garden, and honey production. The building is well-maintained, antique, and rich in history. The ground floor rooms are spacious, cool, well-furnished, and retain the charm of the past. Sleeping is fantastic in absolute silence in very comfortable beds. There are two rooms with a shared bathroom and there are also spaces where the children can play. In the surroundings, there is the possibility to go hiking and in just 10 minutes, crossing a magnificent beech forest, one can admire the wonderful view of San Giulio Island. The breakfast is excellent, abundant and genuine with homemade cakes. Fabia, the owner, is the real strength of the B&B. Sociable, nice and caring, truly the best! Our children were also enthusiastic, needless to say, we will return.

Great place to find calm and tranquility. The B&B is taken care of in detail by the skilled hands of Mrs. Fabia who cuts, sews, and dresses every corner of the house with love and patience. The breakfast is abundant. I think I will come back soon.
