Ancient mountain stone house, recently renovated, located in a typical hamlet of Roure, Balma, halfway between Pinerolo and Sestriere.

The house is set in a pristine natural environment, with mountain views and features a triple room with private bathroom. The furnishings have been carefully chosen and personalized to create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere.

Tranquility, nature, and landscape make it an ideal place for relaxation and vacation.

Breakfast, made with local products, is served in the breakfast room and outdoors during the beautiful season.

Our B&B is located in Val Chisone, a valley that hosted the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

We are in Balma, a small hamlet in the municipality of Roure, adorned with charming murals that depict moments of valley history.

Val Chisone is rich in history, as evidenced by the Fenestrelle Fort, the largest fortress in Europe (8 km away), and the numerous fortifications, mines, and alpine villages in the area.

15 km from the property, you will find Usseaux, which has received a prestigious recognition: it has proven to be one of the most beautiful villages in Italy!

In the Olympic Valleys, you can engage in a wide variety of sports: skiing in Pragelato (20 km), Sestriere (25 km), and Montgenèvre (50 km); snowshoeing, walking, and hiking; rock climbing and via ferrata in the Bourcet Valley (2 km); mountain biking; trial, etc.

The B&B is 70 km away from Turin, where Turin Caselle Airport is located (90 km away).

I can only fully confirm the other very positive reviews. I took four days to explore the area around Sestrière and Susa by motorcycle, especially the Assietta ridge road. The Colle Bercia, Colle del Lys, Colle del Colombardo or Colle du Sommelier are also not too far. I could park the motorcycle securely. My charming, rustic-style room with a very large bed, small desk, farmhouse wardrobe, small bathroom with shower and enough storage space offered me everything I needed. In the evening I could comfortably sit on the balcony in front of the room. The breakfast left nothing to be desired. It was fantastic. Fresh fruit from their own garden, omelette made from eggs of their own hens, sweet cakes, numerous jams, but also savory items like bread, cheese and ham. Also all coffee variations. The landlady, Angela, was more than friendly and always tried to make the stay as pleasant as possible. She even put a small clothes rack for me without being asked so I could dry my laundry. Angela was always there and helpful in every situation. In the area there are two or three recommended pizzerias and bars where you can still get something to eat in the evening. The price-performance ratio for the accommodation is absolutely fine. According to my preferences and what I value, I can really only give top ratings. If I should travel to the region again, I will certainly stay with Angela in Balma. Thank you for the wonderful days.

I regularly return to this guest room which I appreciate for its location surrounded by mountains, its charming former mining village revealed by the murals on the houses, and where it is pleasant to stroll. Noteworthy is the presence of an excellent restaurant at the entrance of the village, a short walk from your room.

Recently renovated accommodations about twenty minutes from Pragelato, perfect as a starting point for the facilities of the Monti della Luna. Abundant and varied breakfast. The manager is very helpful and kind. I had to change the weekend of my reservation for work reasons and he was understanding. Definitely recommended.

The room is located in the house opposite the owner’s house with parking. Climbing a few steps you reach the room, not huge of course, but sufficient for us, a suitable bathroom. The owner, very kind, kept asking us if we had eaten sufficiently at breakfast with the utmost availability. There were plenty of blankets on the beds, so we were warm. To reach the steps, you pass under a portico where agricultural tools and daily life items are collected, very beautiful and suggestive. I would say that, as my wife said, we can return with our eyes closed as we felt so good.

Very nice rooms, tidy and clean. The area is perfect to reach touristic and hiking areas, as well as Pinerolo or the Valdese valleys. The staff always cares and tries to make you feel at home. Breakfast was really good with homemade cakes.

We felt so lucky to have found this place and the lovely owner, Angela. As well as providing an exceptional breakfast full of things she had made herself using her own produce or foraged herself, she told us about the history of the house and was proud to show us all the furniture and wooden artefacts that her husband had made before he sadly died. We wished we had been able to stay longer. The house was full of character and atmosphere.

We stayed at this property for one night, in the room shown in the location image. The room was spacious, welcoming, well cleaned, and quite unique. We were welcomed by Mrs. Angela, the owner, with kindness and availability, who also prepares excellent breakfasts! The daughter Francesca was also very helpful and kind. As for the location of the property, we chose it because we were interested in visiting Usseaux and the Forte di Fenestrelle, so it was very close to our destinations.

A good reception from Mrs. Angela and her daughter who, in addition to kindness, illustrated us with great passion the history of the village and the potential represented by the abandoned talc mines that could become a source of culture and tourist attraction. It would be desirable for the institutions to be interested in taking care, together with the local residents and primarily with the contribution of Mrs. Angela, of restoring the heritage of the past through the project of an Ecomuseum to give a future to this small charming place. The place is very quiet and ideally located to discover the Sestriere valley, as well as all its side valleys, its typical villages and the numerous hiking trails. The rooms are very comfortable, extremely clean and furnished in respect of the local tradition. Moreover, the owner's welcome is really warm, smiling and everything is done for our comfort and to make the stay very pleasant. The breakfast is very abundant, excellent and also allows to discover local products. Pure joy to start the day well in this typical hamlet of this region.

Thank you Angela for your hospitality and kindness; we were welcomed wonderfully! The place, Balma di Roure, is exceptional! The B&B Maison Mariot is characteristic and maintained with a certain taste, even the little Mirò is adorable. We also brought our little dog paying an extra fee and then on Sunday morning we went to visit the Forte di Fenestrelle. Arrived on Saturday at dinner time, Mrs. Angela suggested us to have dinner at the Restaurant del Cacciatore where we ate excellent local cuisine. Then on the way back to the B&B we took a walk in the Borgata which is a little gem in itself. We will definitely come back next year or maybe even sooner! Thank you again Angela!
