Description

Our bed and breakfast is a family-run establishment, located in the historic center of a small hilly village (Cossogno, 400 meters above sea level), about 6 km from Lake Maggiore and the center of Verbania.

The property is spread over 3 levels. We live on the ground floor, on the first floor we have the Lucy Room, a charming one-bedroom apartment, and on the second floor, there is the Sunflower Room, which is spread over two levels and has a large attic quadruple room. On the lower level, there is a small lounge area and a private bathroom.

Guests staying in the Lucy Room have access to a spacious terrace equipped with a small table, chairs and a parasol for the sunniest hours of the day, where they can enjoy breakfast. The room is also equipped with a small fridge and a small table with chairs for dining indoors.

The Sunflower Room is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle for guests to prepare tea or herbal tea as they please (provided by the B&B). There is also an electric moka pot for coffee and a beautiful wooden balcony with an open view of the valley. The balcony is furnished with a table, chairs, and a reclining hammock, where guests can have breakfast or relax while listening to the sounds of nature.

What could be better in the morning to start the day with a rich and varied breakfast, this is our thought, prepare homemade products every morning, trying to give preference to organic and good quality products.

Breakfast is truly plentiful: milk, coffee, tea (depending on your preference), fruit, yoghurt, bread, butter, jam and brioche. If you prefer a savoury breakfast (ON REQUEST), we can offer egg dishes (omelettes, soft-boiled eggs, etc.)
Breakfast is usually served from 8. 30 am to 10. 00 am, but if you’d like it at a different time, simply let us know.

Hello, it's us in the photo, Rosy and Massimo. We enjoy going on hikes in the mountains, by the sea, anywhere we go. We really like cycling, especially on nature trails. We often have our grandchildren with us, so we organize trips near home, go to the river or the lake, and it opens up a whole new world for the little ones. We love practicing yoga, and we've been doing it for several years now.. it's wonderful. Rosy is a vegetarian and a masseuse, and our guests often take the opportunity to get a treatment from her. We really enjoy traveling, but we often find ourselves unable to do so due to lack of time. Both of us love reading and the tranquility that our "home" and your home provide. We started this experience out of necessity, as Massimo lost his job, and so we decided to reinvent ourselves in life, reorganize, and study the languages necessary for this activity. Honestly, we can say that it is a truly unique experience. Thanks to our guests!

Area hills

Our B&B is located in a hilly area (Cossogno) near Lake Maggiore (10 minutes away). It is the perfect place to relax, away from traffic and the chaos of the city. It is a village surrounded by nature, and the road ends here, so there is no traffic noise like in other nearby towns.

We are on the doorstep of the Val Grande National Park, from where you can start walking to explore the park. For hiking enthusiasts, this is the beginning of the adventure.

Even for our more tranquil guests, there are definitely more touristy walks available. As an alternative to the effort of hiking, you can reach Verbania and visit the city, take a walk along the lake shores, visit the botanical park of Villa Taranto, or take one of the numerous boats that will take you to visit the Borromean Islands or go on cruises on the lake.

Within a 50 km radius, there are countless places that can surely arouse your interest and curiosity (Lake Mergozzo, Lake Orta, Santa Caterina del Sasso, etc).

Massimo and Rosy are very friendly, attentive and charming hosts. We felt very comfortable in the accommodation. The accommodation is "hidden" in a small, narrow, dreamy lane filled with many flowers, which can be enjoyed from the terrace with the scent of jasmine. In town there is a really nice little shop with regional delicacies for shopping, and on the piazza there is now a small bar where you can enjoy the afternoon with a Spritz or an espresso, and for a very good and authentic dinner the Trattoria Donna Francesca. The town is a little oasis to feel good and unwind.

Very welcoming host, like the multi-level structure (Girasoli Room) nestled in a very quiet village with picturesque pedestrian paths. Very comfortable bed and the view was picturesque. Unexpected discovery of the village and the waterfalls just a few minutes into the woods.

A bed and breakfast like never before experienced. From the price, to the welcome and comfort (the view of the mountain from our hammock and the magical surroundings) passing through the setting, B&B Il Castello proves to be impeccably clean. Rosy and Massimo go all out to delight their guests (a nod to the sumptuous). A huge thank you for everything, breakfast is gargantuan (bring Tupperware to not waste anything;). Cozy, warm apartment with every comfort. It would be great to have a microwave to be self-sufficient. The owners are wonderful and genuine people who care about making the guests spend a few days of vacation peacefully. The cleanliness of all rooms is excellent, the mattresses are very comfortable, and the brightness of the apartment is great. The Wi-Fi (free) provides an excellent signal. We will definitely return.

I start with my 2-year-old daughter's comment, "this place is magical," she didn't want to leave even with the promise of taking her to Santa Claus, I think I said it all but I add that it didn't even feel like sleeping away from home. Super cozy atmosphere. Massimo and Rosy, managers and parents with little and big guests. They pampered and spoiled us. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart. A must try. And try again.

It is simply stunning, like the managers. Welcoming, helpful, and very friendly. The structure is ideal for those who need tranquility, surrounded by nature. And it is 10 minutes from the lake. Amazing breakfast, all homemade and healthy, with the wonderful company of the same managers. My partner and I felt at home. We will definitely be back. And I end by saying that many times the simplest things and people are worth much more than anything else.

From B&B Il Castello, you can reach Lake Maggiore in just a few minutes by car. Those who enjoy hiking or mountain biking have chosen the right place, as many wonderful places in 'Val Grande' are easily accessible. In case of sufficient snow and low avalanche danger, it is possible to go on ski tours or snowshoeing.\n\nMax and Rosy are very friendly and helpful. They warmly welcome their guests and make every stay unforgettable. Max knows Verbania well and is happy to give tips on interesting destinations.\n\nThe breakfast is a great way to start the day. For those who prefer to dine out instead of using the kitchen, Max and Rosy provide good tips.\n\nThe 'Lucy' apartment is optimal. There is very good Wi-Fi reception, so you can easily plan your tours online. The kitchen is great if you prefer to cook your own meals rather than eat out. The bathroom has a beautiful shower. Everything is very clean and well maintained.\n\nBy the way: Max and Rosy are happy to pick up their guests from the parking lot, so that every guest can find the B&B without any problems. Google Maps incorrectly displays Cossogno, so it should not be relied upon.\n\nConclusion: Top accommodation with unbeatable value for money and very nice hosts.
