The “Corni di Nibbio” are a harsh and bleak range of mountains, which separate civilized Valle Ossola from wild Valgrande, the largest stretch of Italian wilderness. Our B&B, of the same name, is situated at the foot of these mountains in the village of Nibbio and locality of Mergozzo.
If what appeals to you is the tranquility of an ancient country house dating back to the 1800s, carefully refurbished in minute detail, where not only the features of the epoque have been maintained but their more typical aspects have been enhanced, then perhaps you have found what you are looking for.
The B&B is located at one kilometre from the motorway exit for Mergozzo, otherwise at a five minute drive from the town itself, or Borgo, where you are welcomed by the pure and clean water of the lake and the green of the surrounding landscape.
It can also be reached by bicycle along a 5Km cycle track; bicycles are provided free of charge.
The genuine and generous breakfast is served either in the dining room called “Proman” with a fire burning in the hearth or outdoors in the garden under the vine-clad portico with a view of the mountains.
In this friendly and relaxing environment you will feel completly at ease and eager to discover the qualities and features of the area.
Elenia, Patrizio and little Giorgia, the household mascot, will attend to all your needs and requirements.
Relaxing in the outdoor leisure area and enjoying the tranquility of life in a characteristic country house on a warm summer evening while sipping a local wine with your children at play in the safety of the well- equipped garden, you will feel like you are living in another place at another time.

Every morning a rich abundant breakfast is served buffet style to our guests either outdoors under the courtyard portico or in the “Proman” dining room with its fireplace and includes:
– freshly and expressly squeezed juices made from Sicilian citrus fruits
– shakes made with homegrown seasonal fruit
– choice of hot drinks (milk coffee, latte macchiato, cappuccino, hot chocolate, ovomaltina, nesquik) all with fresh milk. Espresso coffee. Selection of teas and herbal infusions.
– sparkling and still mineral water
– homemade jams, local honey, Nutella, Crema Novi and other chocolate spreads
– sweet and savoury cakes prepared daily
– oven fresh croissants
– “fugascina” (a confection typical of Mergozzo, made following an old family recipe)
– fresh eggs laid by our own hens, boiled, scrambled or fried and served with bacon.
– butter from the mountain pastures.
– a wide choice of charcuterie and cheese (cow, sheep and goat) supplied by small producers in the Ossola area
– yoghurt and cereals
– fresh fruit salad made with the produce of our orchard; raisins, currants, nuts and dehydrated fruit.
Breakfast is served from 8. 30 to 10. 00 am.
You may arrange to have breakfast either before or after these times.

Very nice B&B, a little bit away from the crowds, but still close to Mergozzo (by car). Elenia is a very friendly host. Excellent breakfast and wonderful swimming pool.

We stayed for four nights at B&B I Corni di Nibbio in July. Elenia is the perfect hostess. The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything we needed. The breakfast is abundant and we loved the fresh juice and cappuccino every day. She also recommended and booked lovely restaurants for us. There are many hiking trails in the area and some picturesque villages with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We highly recommend this place.

Pessima scelta. Scelta fatta perché struttura pet friendly. Ed effettivamente accettano i cani ma quelli di taglia media e grande e impossibile portarseli. Anche 2 bambini un Po vivaci...faticherebbero a stare in una struttura TANTO PICCOLA per tutto. Completamente impreparati per accogliere cani (da ciotole all' esterno a cestini per la raccolta delle deiezioni) e stanze piccolissime (il mio bagno era 2 metri quadri). La colazione è in una stanza tanto piccola che già 3 persone la riempiono (e con le norme anticovid mo chiedo come possano starci 2 persone contemporaneamente).
Portarsi il proprio cane se di taglia media o grande é assurdo. Non sono forniti di Bancomat... nel 2020.
Struttura BELLA IN FOTO... Ma dal vivo e un altra cosa. DELUSIONE ASSOLUTA. soprattutto per essere PET FRIENDLY. non adatta a famiglie con 2 bambini. Più indicata per pensionati coppie o single...(senza cani). Sconsigliatissima
