Description

We offer accommodation in 4 typical mountain huts, with breathtaking panoramic views, renovated by us using mainly reclaimed or local wood and stone.

Located in Frazione Martassina, at 1200 m, in the municipality of Ala di Stura, on a slope that allows a unique glimpse of the valley and the stream, just a few steps from the bar and the shop.

Suitable for a couple or up to 6 people depending on the hut. Maximum tranquility and easy access, just a few steps from the road and parking.

All independent, equipped with private terrace and/or panoramic garden. Equipped with solar thermal and photovoltaic system for maximum sustainability. Independent heating with thermostoves and/or pellet boilers.

Panoramic hut: small independent panoramic hut, on three levels, 4 beds with a very spacious terrace.

Alpine village hut: small hut on the raised ground floor, on a single level, large panoramic terrace, 4 beds.

Sundial hut: small portion of a hut with completely independent entrance, large panoramic terrace, 2 beds.

Truss hut: large hut converted from an old barn with exposed trusses and beams, large windows, balcony and panoramic garden, up to 6 beds. Wood stove with open fire.

All huts are equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, garden tables.

Hot Tub is available, located on a terrace with a view of the valley, usable upon reservation.

We are a 50 year-old couple married with a son, nature, mauntain hiking and skiing lovers. We like the idea of hosting and meeting new people to make known the beauties and the goodness of our territory. We manage with another family a farm where we breed 80 goats (about) and produce goat's cheeses and delights. We have renovated our house and the chalet that we put here available almost exclusively with our hands and with great passion and attention, fo this we ask our guests to take great care of it.

he hamlet of Martassina is 2 km from the municipality of Ala di Stura, where in addition to various restaurants and shops, there is the possibility of using e-bike rental, a wellness center (by reservation), a fishing reserve, a path between the sundials and, in winter, skating and a small, quiet winter sports resort.

Upstream, in the nearby municipality of Balme, a fishing reserve, typical restaurants, pizzerias, an adventure park, a vertical labyrinth, a mountain museum and access to the Pian della Mussa, a high mountain area of great naturalistic interest, which in winter (from Balme the road to the Piano closes on November 1st) becomes an ideal place for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skialp, completely immersed in nature.

Starting from Ala di Stura, Martassina and Balme, easy walks along the river are possible, excursions to alpine lakes lasting 2/3 hours depending on the destination, and a little more demanding excursions to shelters and bivouacs over 2000 meters of altitude.

Paolo is a ski instructor, it will be a pleasure for him to show you ski mountaineering routes or accompany you if you wish.

Cinzia and Paolo are two extremely kind and helpful people, but at the same time discreet and never intrusive. Their huts, which are well cared for, are truly beautiful, tastefully furnished, and immersed in nature. The view is priceless. The location is very convenient but secluded. The valley is wonderful and offers paths for everyone who loves to walk in the mountains, whether easy or challenging. We fell in love with nature, the stream, the villages, and the people who live there. We will return soon. If you want to live a dream, this is the right place! We stayed in both of Cinzia and Paolo's cabins, perfect, beautiful, cared for in every detail, warm, welcoming... but the real difference is made by them, the owners. They are people of total availability, always with a smile, ready to help you in everything... they love their territory and have a big heart. Cinzia with her goats produces amazing milk and cheeses, Paolo juggles between a thousand different commitments, and both make a wonderful couple. Maybe I haven't talked much about the cabins, but believe me here you will find much more than just a simple place to stay: welcoming people, villages frozen in time, unimaginable landscapes. We, lovers of Alto Adige and great experts of this region, will "betray" it to come back here in September/December/June because we could never have imagined such a beautiful and well-kept place. And then, when you find two new friends, it's impossible not to come back! Thank you for everything, thanks to the people, thanks to the views of this place. Located just a stone's throw from the main road but at the same time isolated from the surrounding noises thanks to the river flowing below and boasting a spectacular view of the valley and the surrounding mountains, Baite del Baus is perfect for "disconnecting" and reconnecting with nature. The cabin is renovated in typical mountain style yet equipped with every comfort. Cinzia is very kind and always available to give us advice on walks and places to visit. Do not miss the breakfast with the products from Cinzia's dairy (what a discovery the goat butter!) and other local excellences. An experience definitely worth repeating.

We have been several times in the Panoramic Chalet and in the Chalet in the village. Two charming structures. The first is a real gem arranged on three floors, has a unique charm because it's all in wood and is equipped with every comfort. Panoramic view and absolute peace make it a gem in the mountain setting. There is also a courtyard where you can sunbathe or cook with the provided grill (50 meters away the excellent butcher shop for purchasing meat, truly special). The chalet in the village has been recently renovated. Arranged on one floor, it is cozy and comfortable. This structure is also equipped with everything you need. Both located in the hamlet of Martassina, this one has in addition to the panoramic view also a view over the hamlet and is right above the house of Cinzia and Paolo, the managers of the structures. Welcoming and helpful people who add value to the stay. Impeccable cleanliness completes a high-level picture. For us, a getaway from Paolo and Cinzia is equivalent to a real recharge! From the structures, you can start on foot for various walks to admire the beauties of the valley, like the Mondrone gorge.

We stayed at the Baite del Baus. The mountains, the fir trees, the snow, the bells ringing, the view of the River and Valley from the window, the Christmas tree, the lights, the candles, and the Christmas decorations made our Christmas magical. On the day of departure, it snowed and we felt like children again. Baite del Baus is a place to find oneself and relax as a couple. Cinzia and Paolo are helpful and kind hosts, always attentive to guests' requests. The chalet is warm, welcoming, and very spacious. It is equipped with two pellet stoves. Our little dog really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard and the nearby nature trails. Bob, the family dog, is very sweet. During booking, you can choose the breakfast option (at an additional cost). Cinzia's apple strudel is excellent. I would suggest leaving the bathroom radiator on for more warmth, especially at night and for those who feel the cold, and having the possibility of continuous hot water in the kitchen. Beautiful lodge with everything you need, Mrs. Cinzia is super helpful and very kind. The stove heats the whole house very well. We were with dogs, grandparents, and little girls. Due to the internal stairs, it is not ideal for those who have difficulty moving, for dogs afraid of stairs, and for very young children. Nothing negative for us.

We stayed on holiday in Martassina, a hamlet of Ala di Stura, a starting point for many trails, a place suitable to experience the real mountain. We stayed in a lovingly restored wooden cabin, very well kept in small details, and with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the Stura river. The cabin reflects its owners, Cinzia and Paolo: two genuine, fantastic people, always available. Thanks to them, their goats, and the mountains of Val d'Ala.

We had an amazing stay in Ala di Stura. Everything about Cinzia's place is magical, and she and her family were fantastic hosts. The cabin is beautiful, cozy, and entirely handcrafted, with breathtaking views of the mountains and river from every balcony. I highly recommend taking the short walk up to the farm and tasting their fresh goat cheeses. I can't wait to come visit again.

The Baite del Baus is very beautiful, renovated, welcoming, clean, a very warm environment. Getting to the Ala or Balme lifts is easy (less than 10 minutes by car) as well as other types of services (there is a bar and a butcher/grocery store near the house which are very convenient). The welcome from Paolo and Cinzia was truly top-notch, very helpful both during booking and throughout the stay (including freshly milked milk offered for breakfast!). The Ala lifts, where we also found wonderful hospitality, are ideal for families with children or for those who need to learn to ski. Highly recommended!

The modest approach to this B&B (a few steps down from the road) belies the charming, cozy rooms, and the incredible panoramic views from every level. The property has been lovingly restored and appointed with modern conveniences: a lovely bathroom and shower, a good heater, comfortable beds, and a well-stocked kitchen. What completely won us over, though, were the sweeping views of the mountains above, and the soothing sound of the rushing river below. In the morning, we walked down to the cold, clear river, and can't wait to go there again to hike, fish, and stay much longer! Cinzia showed us first-class hospitality, and if you stay here, you must also visit the lively goats and lovely cheeses made by Cinzia and her friend Renata just up the road at Formaggeria Cà du Roc.
